First Brad McQuaid, now Richard Garriott. Who's next to fall as a "god" of MMO's? These people were once the makers of entire worlds, universes even and now they are pariah to a society that once held them in very high esteem. Will there be new individuals? Independants maybe? Or will MMO's be made now by the faceless corporations vying for our hard earned dollar? Discuss! |

In Raph We Trust. I really wish he would take some time off Aeria to go produce an MMO title somewhere. /sigh |

At one point, he said that his next MMO would me made with Metaplace. Haven't heard anything about it since then, but I know they're still working on Metaplace.

Their players killed them and stole their phat lewtz. Many people have predicted the imminent decline of WoW for almost 5 years. One day, they will be right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. |

I would never say GOD of MMO'S just pioneers who knew how to make mmoprg. But there still some out there. Maybe you dont like free for all but Aventurine a indie developer are busy to make maybe a superb mmo for hardcore sandbox lovers with free for all pvp. If you dont like that style thats ok but it still can be a superb game for that community same with themepark there can also be some out there making the new super mmo hehe. Old ones dissapear new ones take there place can sometimes take while but there always new ones on the horizon:) |

In no particular order: Sid Meier These are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head. I know they are not really MMO developers but they are certainly some of the cream of the crop in the gaming industry. It's only a matter of time before they decide to start making MMOs (or some variant) and then we'll see what happens. It could be argued that Will Wright has already fallen with Spore, since pretty much everyone was disappointed with that game. |
