Whould you play, if your character agtualy grew older. Ive always wanted to make a mmo, and still do so ive thought alot about this. What if you start the game at say eighteen. Since thats how old you have to be to buy some games anyway. If they card you. Only hapened to me once. Had to go get my mom so i chuold buy it. LOL. But anyway, as i said you eighteen and you slowly age as you play not heres were it gets fun if you die you simply go back to being eighteen but if you were able to age before you died like to 21years then you can set the cloner when you come back so that next time you die you whoyuld be 21 insted of eighteen.

I proposed this topic recently...only you could actually sire children...whether in game or character creation choice...call it a "Legacy Character" or something like that. You could even assign a limited number of your special items as "Heirlooms" to be passed down when appropriate...this would work well with something like LoTRO new legendary items system. The only thing is everyone wouldn't age the same...as it would be based on time logged in...so you could be an old man while you're more casual playing friend is only 20....yet you both started at same time...also..the rest of the npc world would remain the same age...I don't think tech is such to completely cover all elements of aging...not quite yet anyway.

it could sort of work. It wouldn't work with some mmos that are more focused around having characters for eternity and progression being the name of the game. One which is more rpg focused however it would, just I suppose some might question whether rpg and mmorpg are actually compatible...

A few years ago when I first read about Saga of Ryzom they mentioned character aging.  This was way before beta.  However I never heard anymore about it.

I think it would be an interesting concept.

To be honest I'm not interested in that. Especially since the eventuality is "perma death".

And that doesn't interest me either.

I think Aging is a superb idea, it means that you really HAVE to care about your character and not have this easy-die mentality that most WoW and other EQ clones people have. Great idea!!

Time is an intresting aspect of a MMO. You could also throw in seasons in the game, snow in the winter and so on. And season/age specific quests.
