maybe its just been to long but didnt they give a free month with TBC? kinda bad mojo not giving the free month?....or did they and somehow i got jipped? |
|

Does a publisher have to offer a free month? Just because you decided you wanted to purchase more content for the game? (Genuine question, before anyone decides im trolling) |
|
|
not really..... just i coulda swore they did with TBC so why not keep it up lol?
Im not trying to complain just mostly making sure i didnt screw something up somewhere. |
|
|
I bought the WoW battlechest, activated WoW, then later TBC, but I only got 1 free month from the core WoW activation. |
|
|
TBC did not offer a free month, I remember I was complaining about spending 40 bucks at the time and not getting a month. |

no mmo gives a free month with an expansion. |

Yeah kinda sucks Lotro does not have season 5 or tier 7 this Xpac you win man guess ill just play with my legendary weapon and enjoy a the epic story line that WOW does not have. Oh do they must have session play then to explain the story? Tell me again how great arena season 6 will be and teir 8 I need something to put me to sleep I hear in the next Xpac the last boss is a giant carebear that shoots rainbows sounds crazy cant wait. Lucky for you he will have 30% less HP and do 30% less damage so goodluck on tier 9 you deserve it Haha you assume people give a shit about the story when there are epics to be had and yeah great job Blizz cater to the 2% of the POP that cares about the story line over epics. ( haha go ahead tell me you read the quests) Oh nevermind they still just have generic weapons they dont have the money or time yet to develop(or steal) the legendary weapon system from Lotro. (keep paying the sub) Maybe next Xpac buddy keep drinking the cool-aid i wonder how salty it is can you enlighten me please since you are paying $40 for what Turbine calls a free content update. Playing- Lotro, CO |

Why would anyone get a free month with an expansion unless you bought the original game with it. |

Lotro does NOT give a free month with the expansion. But if you buy the retail box and start a brand new account, they also include the original game and that will give you a free month. recap: you get a free month for starting a new account, no free month just for adding an expansion. I have played quite a few MMO's and bought more expansions that I like to remember and don't remember any of them giving free time. |

Just because you have never played any with free game time does not mean they do not exist. The poster I was responding to said no Xpac gives free game time kinda like yourself so I was correcting them. Can you please provide a link that states that is on a new account only please? I see no reference to a new account only and you know what happens when you ASS-U-ME things. Playing- Lotro, CO |

Uhm sorry but. That is the COMPLETE EDITION with the full game inside. I am sure the 30 days only are valid if you actually open a new account with the COMPLETE EDITION..... now please show me the page with only the expansion and maybe it will say the same. I mean, since you talk so boldly about ASS-U-MING things... |

Go to lotro.com and you can see it from the main site if you want more official proof. WotLK is 40 dollars comes with just Xpac not CD's from previous versions and no free game time, Lotro comes with 30 days free and you can install the game and all updates from day 1. Look it up Edit- Sorry Blizzard does not have a "complete" version yet as it was all they could do to get you guys 10 more levels and 3 endgame raids and 1 new class in 4+ years. (the flavor of the cool aid is?) Playing- Lotro, CO |

I have the Lotro complete or 'compilation' pack and you only get a free month if you go from scratch with a new account. That said, I think you should get a free month for buying an expansion.
I have a valid WoW sub, but I don't think they give us very much in between the expansions, not for the money they get anyway... |

I retract my previous statement then as far as the 30 days free for a new account only as I have a lifetime sub but 40 bucks for the full game and Xpac with 30 free days is a steal. You can say its an inferior game and thats why if you want as I will respect your opinion but I am curious to know what makes it inferior besides it does not have 11 million subs. WOW battle chest =$40 then another $40 for Xpac $80 to get the same deal from LotRo for half the cost and twice the conent. Playing- Lotro, CO |

Never heard of an xpac with subscription time before. If you get the original game in a bundle with the xpac then there is the usual 30 days free deal, but not just the xpac. Besides 40$ is a mere pittance compared to all the game time you get out of these games. I happily plonk out 50-60$ for a singleplayer game now and then and when you're done with the original story the replayability differs to a great deal in these games. |

Yeah, what LOTRO did is basically the same as if you bought the WOW battlechest. You get the original game, the expansion AND a free month. But the free month only counts if you start a new account. ................................................ |

I don't think it's inferior game at all, in fact, I think Lotro and WoW are the only two MMOs worth playing at the minute - just my opinion, of course |

They both have a very similar PvE system, so they are the two games that YOU find worth playing. There are quite a few very acceptable MMO's, just nothing that comes near the population of WoW, such as: Everquest 2 City of Heroes/Villains Age of Conan Warhammer Online Final Fantasy XI Guild Wars and others.
