They're looking pretty good... no noone can deny darkfall's existance anymore. Just funny MMORPG.it was invited before MMORPG.com :)

Seems the DEV really don't like this site

Those are actual beta screens btw. The trolls need a set of new arguments I suppose.

I like the style of the artwork. It works just fine for me. I've never been a big fan of the WoW style of art, and I don't really care that much for anime either.

It's funny that the game keeps track of how many times you were Ganked.

We''ve caught game developers posting vaporware rumors from work.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Trolls cried out 'v4p0rw4r3!!!1' and were suddenly silenced. I fear something wonderful has happened.

Well, "this site" is known for being a meeting place for the biggest bunch of DF vapor trolls on the internet. Also, maybe "this site" didn't do much to obtain such screenshots? These guys from "no name italian site" (just saying it now before the trolls bring it up) apparently went to Athens to see the beta.

"Seems the DEV really don't like this site"

Seems they aren't too fond of their very OWN Darkfall forums either...

More screenshots...sigh.  I did find the screenshots of the maps and interfaces to be quite interesting, I like their compass/coordinate system up in the mini-map and the world maps appear to be quite functional as well.

While I didn't look at them all, it was curious that the spell/ability bar was always on "2" and you could only see one skill on it.  Would have been nice to see bar 1 (and it might be in there, as I said, only looked at a few)

One question, if the Italian MMO site took all these screenshots, why do they all have standard DF logos in the lower left corner?  Makes me wonder if they really did take them in game, or were they handed them from Aventurine as part of a media package?

Maybe I'll go read up more on it. No, wait, I can't, its all in Italian.

Well anyways, its a beautiful world, and the interfaces look good from what I can tell.

Now, if they'd only let us play it.

Dec 31st, 2008.

Edit: Regarding the Dev's not liking this site, no development house likes this site, too many skeptics, critics and trolls, and isn't run by company fanbois who censor everything.  They avoid this place like the plague.

I'm willing to assume the feeling is probably mutual by now.

Sorry, you are still arguing that Darkfall is not  a HOAX.

Darkfall can not only be a real game, but it can actually release and still be VAporware. So you might want to check your midichlorian count there young Jedi.

Vaporware:

Falls short of expectations

This category refers particularly to products that may not be inherently flawed or defective, but rather fail to fulfill the high expectations of the consumers who have been subjected to aggressive marketing campaigns and constant hype from either the company itself or the media who reported about it in the period leading to release. Delays on such products have been known to inflate to months and even years, creating often unrealistic expectations of the final version once it eventually reaches store shelves.

The biggest example of this is the computer game Daikatana, which was announced in 1997 but did not ship until 2000. Many who had waited felt the gameplay was disappointing. Ultima IX was released to savage reviews in 1999, due to numerous bugs, unbalanced gameplay and high system requirements.

While the world/background looks fairly exceptable for this day and age the character models are down-right laughable.  Also why are there no other characters or NPC's running around in the screenies?

And one more thing...  Why the Darkfall logo in lower left hand part of the screen?  Will that always be in the game? Or are these really actual in-game shots?

I agree that the character models don't look so hot, but I'd still have no problem playing the game if it had all the features listed in the official website.

A lot of people enjoyed playing Shadowbane, and it looked like crap.

Easy. As I stated in another thread, no matter how much they claim these Italian mods are free from NDA and can say/show anything, the truth is nothing will get out without Tasos stamp of approval.

Yes you are correct...  Graphics do not make the game.  I guess I'm just spoiled.

Not all of the screenshots have the DF logo, seems Aventurine wanted folk to know it's THEIR property, apparently.

Given the fact these screenshots contain ingame chat as well as the italian admins' names as the character names, I would assume those are for real ingame screenies, wouldn't you too? :D

I guess the DF logo either is blended into the beta client by default or the Aventurine fellows added them before allowing to upload (which is what I think and making sense, as they have a valid interest those being branded while they're passed around the web).

Well, TROLL, you obviously haven't been paying attention.  This doesn't cover Darkfall.  Lately a lot has emerged to support our expectations.

I see posts like yours now and it makes me think of that goldfish at the end of the Faith No More: Epic video.

How about, they are making a screens via ingame integrated Screenshot function that places a logo on a screen?
