Can I just be a crafter or is it added on like a secondary skill ? I understand that crafted goods will be superior to drops so Id like to be a hardcore crafter and run my own business in FE. Im not too crazy about fps or 3rd person shooter combat so Id prefer to avoid it if possible |

To make yourself the best crafter you would have to max out intelligence and perception(I believe it is perception). So if you are wanting to be a good crafter, those two would be your main attributes. ------------------ well i'm 35 and have a PhD in science, and then 10 years experience in bioinformatics... you? |

Without saying more then allowed, it is "possible" to be just a crafter and level. It may be that leveling with crafting is slower then running missions and combat but still possible. There may be limitations on what is available to those testing and what is "possible" now may not be "possible" later. |

While crafters are important, I don't there has ever been a game where crafters are more important than fighters. And I'm not expecting (any good game at least) to change this. I don't dislike crafting, it's just that it isn't interesting enough to make a main thing. |

Wow, really? I quit SWG after I figured out it sucked (no offense to people who like it, the combat system is bullocks). |

Crafters will be very important in this game and I think crafters will be the ones to create the most powerful weapons/armor. And yes in SWG (pre nge/cu) Crafters where super important and people were pretty hardcore about it heh :) |

Originally posted by bstuart Items that break somehow are even more important for a player driven economy. If nothing is ever lost or consumed, players will get the items once and then the economy is dead. This has been reported from many games, including WOW. An example that works is EvE Online with its massive item destruction upon losing a fight. |

Not too long ago there was a House of Commons Chat about crafting. It might have some answers for you, like that crafting is a form of leveling. Also, in their QotW FE says crafting and harvesting are available from level 1. Not to mention, traveler is a faction in FE that specializes in making and distributing products to players My name is Pam and I have a fishing problem. I write things for the Examiner at Oklahoma City MMORPG Examiner and Oklahoma City PC Examiner. |

No offense to the people who liked it, but pre-NGE the game was a hell of a lot better. But the combat was still kind of bollocks. I mean it was passible and all, and certainly wasn't the WORST combat ever, but it was really a little uninspiring. In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. "Easy" only equals "better" for crack addicts and MMORPG developers. |

Not really what I was hoping for. Do items decay at least ? Checked all this on wiki, though not sure how accurate... supposedely you can craft, and break down items to their components... however items supposedely breakdown eventually ... they said also components eventually break down the more you dismantle it from an old wep/item... again not sure how accurate wiki is but you can check it there, ... lots of info for Earthrise there but as to the accuracy of the info... who can say... |
