Forum Poll

How long will you continue to follow the progress of Darkfall?

If they don't release in 2008, I'm done.
If they don't release in Q1 2009, I'm done.
If they don't release in Q2 2009, I'm done.
If they don't release in Q3 2009, I'm done.
If they don't release in Q4 2009, I'm done.
I'll stick around till the end of 2010, what's another couple of years?
I will follow the progress of DF till I'm dead, or the Devs call it quits.

I don't see how Aventurine could get mad at anyone who loses interest in their game after December 31, 2008. 23:59:59.  They are promising it will release this year, so if they don't then they are no better than all the other liar MMO companies out there.  I mean, you don't put a release date unless you know you will hit it, right?  Especially if that release date is 1 month away from when you announced there was one.  Nobody wants to see this game fail, so I really hope they get the job done.  The fact that no word from beta has gotten out is a little unsettling though...

"We''re not making a game for Trekkies" Daron Stinnett, Perpetual Entertainment

Don't forget, Funcom did this October 2006 with AoC.  Fast forward to today and you know the rest of that story.  Point is, today is the 16th and they have 14 days to hold close beta, open beta, shut beta down and then launch the game in December.  Will it happen?  Not likely but will be fun to sit back, eat some popcorn, and watch the show over the next  month and a half.

I've gone for the last one, even though I'm not that interested in the game as it stands (that may still change if and when I get a chance to try it).

The thing is, I expect the development of Darkfall to be one of those stories that people will talk about or refer to for years to come - whether the game makes it or not. I just can see it being part of the MMO jargon, be it used as a substitute for a bang or a whimper... I cannot let myself be kept out of the loop in that  :)

May contain nuts.

If it doesn't release this year, I'll still follow it. But I'll know that if it ever releases it's probably going to be another AoC or DnL.

I stopped following it after the promised beta back in 2005 never materialized. I still drop by from time to time out of idle curiosity and because the fanbois amuse me.

I think people, in general, will continue to follow this game until it is removed from MMORPG.COM's web site. In my opinion, if Darkfall doesn't at least have a beta before the end of the year, the Darkfall forum should be deleted.

Meh, it doesn't cost me anything to peek in on it every couple of weeks, which has been more frequent since they announced beta has started. I'm interested in what they offer and I'll keep watching until launch or cancel.

I'll follow until some other game with open-world PvP with consequence and reward comes out.

They did it for Dark Solstice, so I don't see Darkfall getting special treatment.

Grinding is the worst idea ever integrated into a game...

I would much rather have fun.

I'm perfectly fine waiting until the end of 2009 for this game.

I will say though that my interest in it will diminish greatly if they continue on the old cour
