I know there has been a LOT of heated discussions about both of these games, and I know that some people will try to be smart and say that these games can't be compared cause they focus on different aspects of playing.

Nevertheless I want to see which one is more popular for the general population on this site. I'm assuming that these two are the most promising upcoming MMORPG releases in the near future, unless you can name a better one? :D

Darkfall because of what waterwilly pointed out.  It is just too different and revolutionary if it actually comes through to not want to play it.  Aion looks good but just doesnt do it for me.

I would probably look at TCoS before Aion if DF breaks my heart.

i still have not been able to take it for granted darkfall will ever release.

I think a lot of people are skeptical about Darkfall because there's nothing about the game except for dev blogs and official trailers/screenshots. But yea it's gonna be pretty revolutionary if Aventurine delivers all they've promised with the actual game. Whereas Aion is now in open beta in Korea, but compared to the Darkfall gameplay, it's more or less just another MMORPG like the rest.

Do you guys know if the graphics in Darkfall can be better than what's seen in the latest trailer? I'm not that big on graphics but it'd still be nice if everything looked a bit better.

darkfall for me. i been playing korean grinders for so long, im all grinded out.

Darkfall, I'm not sure I could stomach another level/gear based game.

I'll wait until next years releases if it fails or doesn't release.

DarkFall is not for me.

However I am every eager for it to release so we can finally have a game for all these people!!!

Aion has nothing to do with Lineage.  Both games have been developped by the same company and they share some graphic asian style. The rest is very different.

There is plenty  of information around. www.aionsource.com FAQ is a good place to start, you will see there why i think you get confused about it

Ill take Darkfall over the Korean Grinder with wings, why would I want to play yet another level based , gear be all game like Aion?

I will play both.  But the one I am anticipating more is Aion.

If this was 2002, I would have said Darkfall.

I chose Darkfall. As much as I look forward to Aion, DF offers quite a bit I've yet to experience in an MMO. Also, whether Aventurine makes good on their promises or not, it's going to be one hell of a day on these boards come release.

Aion seems like a boring asian grind game and the best thing about it are the female models. If I want to watch a porn though, I don't need games. The combat-system sounds pretty lame as well.

 Darkfall on the other hand has an intresting (skillbased) combat system and full PvP with playerbuilt cities, no classes and overracial playerinteraction. Did I mention full-loot?

 Of course, Darkfall could still be a flop, but the question was about which game I anticipate more and since I don't ancitipate Aion at all and Darkfall sounds (and from the Gameplay Videos looks) like my Dream Game, I chose of course Darkfall. Darkfall ftw!

both games look fun but i would rather be playing darkfall than aion. just my opinion

I am not ignorant enough to make comments on games that are not even released.

Actually even if they are released, I'll need to play both of them to even form an opinion.

Are you for real? You could think after the more than 17 minutes gameplayvideo, after confirming that the closed beta with external players is already going, after a few reports from people who visited aventurine and wrote about it, after the release date was set to in about 1 month, after a life-event with a darkfall-DEV playing darkfall life infront of a public audience... the vaportrolls would seem to disappear, but I guess there will always be misinformed trolls who move with the group.
