since wow was mentioned here. I was wondering if someone who would rather pvE 80% of the time would find War unappealing.
I play eq2 right now and their next expansion doesn't really look interesting to me. I was hoping to move on to something else. |

Damn I wish I had waited to buy... Also as a hardcore PvE'r I can tell you that you unless you join a large, active guild or have a group of RL friends to play with PvE is SHIT. I have logged in during "primetime" hours with my 21 Engineer on Skull Throne almost everynight this week and could not find a PQ or PvE group for the life of me. Sad that this game has so much potential but the reason it sucks is because there is no one to group with. /RANT ON I think it's total bullshit that everyone rushed to 40 in the first place. TBH that is why I have no one to gorup with - because everyone wanted to get to the highest tier as fast as possible and not enjoy the journey. I actually quit my guild for this reason- they wanted us to just run PVP scenarios till we maxed our lvl. This game is LOADED with PvE content except everyone would rather wait in a sceanrio que because its faster XP. It makes me so angry. Biggest problem in MMO's in my opinion is level differences. Not only do you have to log in at the right time in the right place and be on the same quests but you have to find other players that are in your level range. This resounds especially in Warhammer with the "chapters" if someone has grinded enough influence to move on to another chapter there isn't a chance in hell they will go back to help others. IMO this is why Warhammer has failed. (along with not enough item customization, I have had the same rifle art for 10 levels... /rant off That felt better... |

Well to be fair, they designed this game with PvP in mind. They said that from the start. It really was designed to get people to nibble at the PvE content but really tailored for the typical PvPer mindset. Typical pvp wants to get to the max level/max skills asap so they can kill other people. Most don't want to read a story, lore or any quests. It's not all, but most for sure. A 50(!!!!) % price cut for a game that has been out for ... 7 weeks. Must be a record. Now we know they didn't sell those 1.2 M copies to "players" and retailers are stuck with them. Amazon is just the first to react to eliminate stock. Exactly the same we saw with AoC and TR of course. You just start playing the beginning zones of WotLK and you can feel the difference in 2 minutes. Amazing how much real mmoRPG WotLK has compared to War. "Talking people and having a real world at your feet " is something I gladly would explain to crying Mark Jacobs.

Stick with the pizzas...it's money better spent. |

FYI, the price has been increased to $44.99 (USD) again. So the deal was for Thursday only? Meh. Why do I always miss these deals? |

Thanks for the input guys,
Now I'm left with : go for eq2's slim expansion features. (as far as I can gather) Or Give into WoW and there new expansion.

Yeah, it was a 1 day only deal through Amazon.com if you got in on it. It's back to regular price now as of today. I think Amazon was the only company that ran that deal, because overstock.com still has it over $49.99. However if your interested in the game, I would wait till Black Friday, usually Retailers drop the price on many games on that day (certain items of course). For those who don't understand what Black Friday is, it is the event that Retailers have after Thanksgiving and usually have their retail stores open from 4am to 12am the next day. I remember last year I picked up Bio-Shock, LotRO, Orange Box and CoD 4 for $19.99 each at Best Buy. Fallen Earth / Lords of War |

Ugh... I'll pass. The last time I tried to shop on Black Friday, I stood in line for hours only to discover that all of the good stuff was already gone (I only ended up with some crappy Xbox 360 game 2-pack that only saved me about ten dollars overall). (There were people camping outside starting at about 1:00 AM, which just isn't worth it to me, although all of my relatives do it.) Although I did find a few good deals at online retailers that year. I typically out after the holidays are over and check out the clearance sales; I found some good deals on games last January, actually. Amazon.com is one place to pay attention to on Black Friday, however. I'll just keep watching to see if they ever offer another special for WAR.
