What i can tell you is that the korean gaming community is INFESTED with botting.I know the americans run the large RMT companies we know and here about but over there it's big business even for the small guy.

TONS and i mean TONS of gibberish names "sginsigjsnjs" all botting so they can sell SRO gold to rmt buyers.If you ever look at the cost of some of the elite armour and weapons you can tell the prices have been driven up by the botting and RMT activity in this game.

What is really funny is that the majority of games over there ALL use GAME GUARD.I have no clue why they are using it as it has proven to be totally inept for several years now.IMO they are incorporating it because they have to show some kind of security system in place when dealing with credit card and paypal activity.I am sure they are using it for free so it's really handy for them.

To put it simply,if you can login to this game just play for a short time like a couple weeks then give it a rest.Do not get addicted to it,it isn't worth it.

I was on a private server, it was nice, the GMs banned bots all the time BUT the same problem there is heavy traffic so.. DCs..

from what i uderstand is that the korean version is played like its suppose to, your refering to the global version which is a trainwreck

kinda sucked because this is one of the few asian grinders that offers something to do other than grind for years (it has that too)

but, im long over my wasted time on SRO, and over the time wasted trying to log in only to get d/c'ed, and while i wasnt d/c'ed or trying to log in i was ksed non stop by people in some guild with a turkish flag for the logo, or by players with gjkisnhgkj as the name, or by players who just dont respond (i assume they were botters and of the few servers i tried they were fairly common)

also, its been mentioed before that they keep the server capacity cap for free players down to a very low %...youll find that after being unable to log in for an hour due to traffic that the game is mostly dead, at least dead for a server that it says is full

I used to play Silkroad online. I had gotten sick of attempting to login over and over for 30 minutes to 1 hour

everytime i wanted to play. When i finally did get into the game, It became so boring and laggy that i had to

quit because i was becoming to frustrated with the game. it has alot of potential,and they stopped the lag

and server traffic for a while by automatically banning "auto-ers", but about 2 weeks later they were back

and making logging in difficult. It is terrible that this game has those flaws because i belive that

it has alot of potential and if they permanently stop server traffic and lag, it will be the best free game.

Actually now with all the bot bans, it's very easy to log in. Takes 1-3 tries and you're in. I havn't experienced DC in a long time. And there are still bots (of course), but it's not to the point where the servers get filled up ALL the time.  Close to the afternoon, ALL servers are open w/o traffic.

bot bans are you kidding?i'm boting right now just because i hate sro,yes if you bot 24/7 they will get you eventually i'm just boting 4-5 hrs a day and i have no problem just start the bot and play something else, i don't even know how the effects of my skills look like.so they are doing a bad job at banning bots.

korean game companys think that by making you play for years grinding to hit level cap makes their game challenging.  all it really does is bore the tears out of 99.9% of players.  So then how do people get to level cap then, if it would take years of normal play? they bot.

if the makers of f2p game would only realize that level cap should be a short term goal, and then include fun things to do at that level cap, people would not need to bot.

Seriously this game offers grinding and grind quests (find 50 lion teeth for some npc that is in no way involved with any storyline, and the teeth drop every 10-20 kills)

these quest are not challenging or rewarding to acomplish, all it does is ofer you direction as to what mob you should be grinding on.  what they are is just time sinks, another effort to slow down game progression.  By doing the quests it simply forces you to make long trips across the map, all for some medicore exp. they do this because it requires no thought or development time.

so in conclusion, this game is just like the 30 other f2p grinder games, all grinder games have botting problems for this reason. not to say that p2p games dont have people who bot, but the grinder games have much much more.  The botting issues will stop when people make games that are fun to play through the level cap and after the level cap. no one wants to grind for 2 years to hit level cap and experience the game in its full, they want to hit level cap in a month and have something fun to do once they are there.

I played this game for nearly a week before I quit. Seriously, it took me around an hour to even get on my server. I also find it boring because of the fact that all you do is grind, grind and grind some more with little interaction/teamwork with other players. Oh well, the gameplay of the game itself is not that bad... The developers just have to spend more time banning the bots and get bigger servers

I have understood that they have a contract with some kind of bot service.If you use that bot you will not get banned or maybe if you are a silk buyer.

Silkroad is not a bad game, and I would even go so far to say it is a good game.

The developer had some good ideas here and there even though nothing too revolutionary.

It is also excuted decently (not great, but not bad).

I use to play it for a while, but then I think a certain console game sucked me into it and I completely forgot about MMO for a few month, and SRO is out of my mind till now.

I like them

But MMO > the game air > fresh smell > sand & monsters > Jangan , Hotan , Dw , Taking care of ur girls charchter > Pvp wid friends > Plvl Ur little brother > I like SRO

Silkroad was cool some time ago, when there were only 3 servers.. :P

I tried it again few months ago.. It's just too hard to log in. Sigh.
