In terms of grind which has the least amount?  Age of Conan, World of Warcraft, or this game CoX?  I would like to know so that way I can decide whether or not it's worth subbing to.

i would say CoH has less-est grinding, followed by AoC, and most grinding is WoW

In fact WoW is brainless grinding most of the time...

It will probably be worth your while to go to their respective websites and download the trials they offer.  Not sure how much of the "grind" you'll be able to experience, but it atleast gives you a decent overview of the game before purchasing!  Not sure if Age of Conan offers a trial yet though.

I can help with the trial questions.

The quests you run at the start of WoW are pretty much the same ones you run at all the other levels and areas. Only real difference is you have to kill more things and the drop rate get astronomically worse.

In CoH what you do at first is similar to what you do later. But as you level you fight different groups of bad guys. All with different resistances and abilities. The drop rates for items and money never get worse then at the start and they really are not that bad.

Only one I can't help with is AoC because last I checked there is no trial for it.

People have different interpretations of the word "grind". So I can't really answer that as it is. However, if you would like to specify just what you consider "grind" as opposed to what you consider "fun play", then I can answer.

City of Heroes/City of Villains offers customizable adventures and very soon (with the imminent release of Issue 13) Dual Builds available at Level 10. This means that not only can you set the difficulty of your adventures for the day but you can choose a power build for the day as well, depending on whether you feel like teaming or going solo, PvPing or sticking with PvE, etc. There is only as much grind as you invent for yourself.

I never felt like I had to 'grind' in COH or AOC, WoW thats all I felt like I did. Both CoH and AoC have so many missions/story archs you end up out leveling them if you try to do half of them. I like that. Even though I have bad alt-itis, I run through different stories and it keeps my interest. But if I had to rank, CoH is less grindy than AoC simply because I feel you level faster, and it is soooo much easier to find a group and get ridiculous XP.

Dark Astoria - Freedom -COH

Khemi - AoC

i played all 3 games for some time

(more then 3 years cox, 6 months wow and 1 month aoc)

it depends on what you like but i think cox has the least grinding.

the reason: it is super easy to find a group in cox and combat is pure fun.

Since CoX doesn't have any "equipment" or "epic" things you need to grind for it has less grind than WoW. You still have to level your character and it has enhancements for your powers, but I've never had a problem earning more than enough money to buy ehancements.

AoC is just plain a BAD game, stay away from it.

Actually, no, no it doesn't. I don't know what game you are playing. You can buy enhancements for your powers and thats the only thing you can "grind" besides leveling up. Grantyed there are some rare and expensive enhancements in the game but it isn't nessary to get them they way its nessary to grind for certain equipment in WoW.

no he is correct.  it just depends on how you look at it.  if you think about all of the various badges and the side missions, exploring, TF's, Veteran Rewards (or the same uber items you can get in-game by other methods), and the recently added day job boosters that are required to get those abilities or bonuses then you do have epic items and equipment.

you cannot tell me that my main character with Sands of Mu and Nemisis Staff along with numerous Health, & Stamina bonuses, along with permanent temp type powers such as Phase Shift does not have equipment or anything epic to him, because he does.

no other character, unless doing the same things in game would be able to have these items.  call the "items" what you will but in my opinion some of the things I just named are definitely equipment and definitely epic.

basically in short when you acquire some of those badges or complete some of those tasks you are rewarded with certain items that you would not otherwise have had if you had not grinded those missions or given requirements, which some are only attainable at a certain character level (i.e. Task Force)

and if you missed something well now with Ouroboros you can go back and do whatever you missed to acquire those bonuses and extra items for your toon.

someone call me out if I'm wrong.........

I think Raltar's original post was correct, semantically at least. Players in CoX don't need to grind for gear or epic powers. The Epic Power Pools are open to all heroes at level 41. For the Veteran Rewards, there's really not anything to do other than maintain an active account. Haven't gotten a Villain up high enough to really know anything about the Patron Powers. But thanks to the way the powersets and costume creator are set up, an axe is an axe, a mace is a mace, a shield is a shield. Appearance doesn't affect effectiveness.

Temporary powers (bank bonuses, day job bonuses) are not required to move along in the game, with the possible exception of mission-specific powers, but since you don't usually keep those once you've accomplished your objective, I'm not counting those.

Enhancements and accolades also are not essential parts of the game. Only my original toon is fully slotted. I don't go shopping for recipes. If it drops, great. If it doesn't, oh well. Maybe I'm not as effective as I could be, but the difference is negligible.

So yes, there is epic stuff out there, but it's not needed.

As with most game out there, the more involved you are with the community and the more people you know in-game, the more teaming opportunities you have come your way thus lessening your grinding as a whole.

Step 1: Pick your game.

Step 2: READ the little manual for the game so you at least have a general idea of how the little things work.

Step 3: Find a solid guild and get involved, make friends and ask questions.

Step 4: Don't give up and quit just because you suck for the first couple weeks, the game and the controls as   well as the knowhow to utilize the games features will come to you with time.

really?  so i don't have teleporters, various storage units, and all sorts of goodies in my base?

those purple enhancements, some of which give me actual powers instead of just enhancing my existing powers, those aren't epics?   i've got a few characters with 10-20+ temporary powers.  none of that is considered equipment?

i don't know what game you've been playing; but COx has had items and epics galore for quite some time.  should i be apologetic because you're not pigeon-holed into looking like all the other characters with your same gear/powers/enhancements?   just because other games are incredibly limiting in their equipment and epics; that doesn't change that cox has both.

what i corrected on raltar's original post is that cox has both equipment and epics.  that is all i stated.

The potential to earn five highly custom outfits, any of which can be used at any time with the click of a mouse, or changed at any time at the tailor shop...

A long list of temporary powers received as drops during missions (some for the duration/others that last longer)...

Customizeable weapons...

Invention salvage drops which can be crafted into base equipment (to include transporters, rez rings, and multiple means of defense during base raids); long-term temporary buffs; high-end enhancements; and specialty costume pieces (like Hi-Tech Wings or Rocket Boots)...

The accrual of badges which can result in an accolade that permanantly secures extra buffs, or even a weapon (like the Crey Pistol)...

Epic "mastery" power sets which are unlocked at level 41...

Veteran Rewards, which include even more powers, pets (some that just look cool/some that fight), specialty costume sets, and more....

Hmmm...I'd say CoX offers plenty of equipment. =)
