Many stores are doing a midnight release of WOLTK, and I started a poll to see numbers of how many people are acctually gonna pick it up at this time. Enjoy :)

Honestly, I learned last time that there was no rush. There were plenty o WoW expansions left in the stores the next morning.
I plan to get a good nights rest MMORPG Characters immortalized! |

Maybe I've gotten old, but I'll probably just stop by Best Buy on Thursday afternoon and grab a copy (it's not like there is going to be any shortage of game boxes). Past experience with games have shown that it's not worth standing in line, to rush home and suffer through a long install/patch process, to finally get online only to deal with server crashes and emergency patches. By Wednesday evening most of the big problems will be fixed (hopefully) and it will be a much more enjoyable experience. |

I chose the 3rd option, even though I believe it's really Thursday, night Wednesday. |

Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started. |
Yeah, the game isn't being released until 12:01 Thursday. People will be standing in line late Wednesday night not Tuesday night. That said, my wife and I were laughing about this. We were going to drive by the Best Buy just to see how many people are standing out there. But unfortunatly, our best buy isn't having a midnight opening. Honestly, I don't think it's bad to stand out for a game. I dont' think it's as much people wanting to get an early start or to make sure they get a copy... i think it's just fun (for younger people) because of the social aspect of it. When I was younger, I'd wait in line for concert tickets, and in many cases, I have more fond memories of the 'waiting in line' then I do of the actual concert. I'm in no hurry to get the expansion. I'll probably wait a week or two until the first zones are empty. Being a week or two being the masses is not a big deal when it comes to endgame as long as I'm at 80 when the new Arena season starts. ................................................ |

Thought about it, but pre-ordered online instead, gonna stay home nice and warm. Some people have already had theirs arrive and apparently a few people picked up copies from ASDA/Wallmart on Sunday over here, so it looks like there will be plenty pre-installed ready for live. It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays. |

I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. LOL When BC came out, I did the same thing I'm doing this time....pre-ordered from GameStop, then went to wait in line with the other addicts and pick it up at the store at midnight. :) Other than standing in the bitter cold....this was pretty fun, because I ran in to several professionals in the area that I didn't know played the game, and here to find out that they are "junkies" just like me....was really kind of funny. =D So my partner and I will be standing in line before midnight Wednesday night, wrapped up like mummies and shivering, and happy as clams! (We DID, incidentally, also take a couple of vacation days from work. Hopefully, those first 2 days won't be plagued with down times and glitches to the point of rendering those 2 days wasted.) --------------------- |

Originally posted by Azrile I agree Azrile. I was thinking about going just to see what it was like, but don't know of any stores that are doing a midnight release. Will probably just pop into a Best Buy on the way into work and then stare at the box all day. LOL |

There will be plenty of boxes, every god damn store has learned from the initial vanilla wow release, at TBC i got my own box easy a day after, though i have to admit, the first store i was in to first check the price difference, had them sold out, funny enough it was also more expensive than the store i got it from, strange...
I hope i'm not wrong on it this year, else i'll be a lil sad, but i haven't really felt a huge urge yet but i'm sure it will explode tomorrow as i get home off work, strange thing is i got a day off the 13th, not 1 day vacation, just pure luck on my side i guess hehe.
I'll just buy a copy down in the store early morning or something i guess. |

It's just for the fun. Seeing all the others every two years is a blast. All those who left and return with the expansion./ ... I still have some false beards and glasses avalaible... You wouldn't believe your eyes how much MMORPG wow haters will line up. I know two in RL and indeed they will be there the following morning (buying the game under the counter). They don't know it, but I know it from the shop keeper. Those two bought Hellgate, then AoC, then War and that's a pretty nice record I'd say Pretty impressive what players want to like to just dislike Wow.

With three kids ... I value my sleeping time. : That said I'll be sure to get WotLK on Thursday, and find some creative way of 'working' from my home office. If weren't for my current project, I'd be amoung the many here taking a few vacation days. Ico |

Hell no! I value my nice warm bed far too much. I had my dispatch email from Amazon today so fingers crossed it'll arrive by Thursday. I'm taking Friday off work to start my WoW marathon weekend early. Energy drinks on standby! |

Variety is the spice of life, unfortunately, it's also the bane of balance. |
I'll be picking it up Thursday after work. |
