That is it! I give up playing the witch hunter. The class is a joke...unable to kill healers, tanks, witch elf, magic users. Only thing we can kill is a SH and after patch 1.05 that will become much harder. What the hell were there thinking about when designing this weak ass class...besides the stupid fancy clothes?

Are you sure your witch hunter isn't broken? I rolled one to try it out and it was like a witch elf... killing everything and laughing manically all the way... :S But if you want to talk weak look at the swordmaster, a clear dps character lorewise, mythic start working the clay and it's a tank that can't tank to well or dps even though it has a sword in a size even giants think twice about... |

actually I play an engineer and I love it. Very useful in pvp. I agree with the OP though. I played the witch hunter as well and found it to be extremely weak.

I'll just go ahead and say the Magus isn't weak either. I've gotten highest damage in a good number of scenarios, beating out a few Bright Wizards. You just have to understand how to use your Cone and AoE DoTs in conjunction with your pets. Most of the "weakness" that players feel is not the class itself but the person playing it. If you know how to play a Witch Hunter, you will be successful. If you don't know how to play your class and expect to just "be good" at something because they told you that you could, you've already lost the fight. STOP WHINING! |

Is it possible that many people still think they can go out and solo kill with their class. On average in scenario standings most people are very lucky to get 1 solo kill in 15mins. The most I've seen in one scenario is 3 solo kills the majority doesn't even land one solo kill, yet still people do die quite a bit in them. Each class is geared towards contributing to a team effort. Basically, learn to play as a teammate and you'll fair much better, continue to try soloing and you'll more than likely be picked apart fast. |

In groups, I think Witch Elf and Witch Hunter are the most team relient classes in the game. The classes have almost no survavibility in group fights. They were designed around taking priority on killing stragglers and unattended healers very fast. They do this pretty well through the right stats, gear (IMO quite possibly the most gear relient class as well), and build, but there are occasions when one may question their character's worth with how little this actually happens. I also think there's a good possibility that Witch Hunter is weaker in this aspect than Witch Elf. If your team is uncoordinated, you may have a LOT of trouble. If you are fighting a team that is much more coordinated than yours, you will have a LOT of trouble. I have long since abandoned my Witch Elf and rolled a Zealot. Also, I believe I can say it isn't just me and how I play. I have very often been commended for my ability, picked out by members of both Order and Destruction as being the best, if not one of the best Witch Elves on the server when I used to play it. |

Witch Hunters shouldn't really go after Healers...they're pretty damn good at taking out Casters & Ranged DPS like Squig herders though.. *sighs* bastards honestly ..they just get up on you and boom! |

I play a witch hunter with little problem taking down any class though have a bit of difficulty 1 on 1 vs tanks. however I find it easy to hold my ground with the tank until back arrives most of the time. Easy way to smack down various classes, Healers stand no chance with skills that allow you to silence them. at 30 i have 2 skills that do this and when I creep up on a caster or healer, first hit silences, then dot the hell out of em. believe me they run fast even if they are higher level. Best way to smack a witch elf is to dot em up good and whack at em, they may kill me but if a healer isnt handy they are gonna die. One truly handy thing is to buff up initiative and weapon skill. high weapon skill allows some serious damage output with ignoring armor somewhat. Those hits hurt em good and they are just as squishy as a WH. Helps to have 5k hps too and a few defensive potions. Dont pvp without armor and toughness potions :) Playing: Not much actively. |

Unless your target is a lonely sorc or sh then dont go solo against them in the middle of a fight. No one can really solo kill anything grouped in this game as it should be. Where you see WHs be REALLY good is as support dps for tank rolls. The second a tank begin to hit on anything the WH pops into the fight and actually finish it. Its extremely efficient and you actually contribute towards getting your team to win. WHs that go on solo runs in scenarios just give free pts to the enemy side every time they die. "You are the hero our legends have foretold will save our tribe, therefore please go kill these 10 pigs." |

In 90% theese players are somewhere around level 10-20. Though the levels you NEED to be to get a grip on the class is 35+. Where it simply IS not enough of anything to be worth playing or having in a group. And you did the beginners error 2 aswell, compareing damage charts. Because they say nothing at all. Having super weak small dots on alot of characters easily speeds up your total damage value. Though you are not helping out anything in the overall fight. Actually playing Engineer is NOT about spamming AoE. The DoT damage is so patethic it's not worth it. Playing engineer (grenadier) is about spamming Flash/Concussion and Firebombs. Since they do direct damage which is more useful than pitiful DoT's. I've made a guide on how to play the engineer and I've never, EVER found AoE to be worth it. Fragmentation grenade should only be used when there are 3+ targets to hit. And maby overall once per 40 seconds. Use Acid bomb only while on the run and on your way to your target, otherwise it's quite much a waste of AP. The debuff helps but sometimes it's better to throw off a Direct Damage spell like flash grenade instead. And beginners error 3, don't ever say people don't know how to play their class, that is SO so so so old

As I usually say, blame the player, not the class if you feel the class is somehow "underpowered" Ive killed everything from tanks to healers and casters and my WH, so im not sure where this is coming from except maybe your not very good at handling a fight with one of these classes. most importantly, I work with a team whenever I can, if someone else can take the hits for me, I can bring an enemy down in a few seconds. |

all i can say is bro is you must be really bad at a WH. I play one and i drops healers and pretty much everything else pretty fast (minus some really good tanks). |

WH shouldn't even be going after tanks unless the tank is very distracted. As a tank those classes are my targets. Though tanks really don't have targets because of their weak dps. Slavik: Define favorable outcome Cabal. Cabal: THEY ALL DIE! |

But yes, both Eng and WH are both pretty bad... Tank classes are probably the best for melee PvP. |
