Epic fail post in my book kinda got tired of wow like 2years ago you realize there bringing nothing new to the table at all nothing your going to be doing the same thing from 70 to 80 then what bg all day and night or wait raid dungeons WoW thats just making me just want to play... Arent you tired of the wash and repeat in games mmo's are dying because this, seriously someone has got to brake this mode of gaming were dying to games that are bringing nothing to the table and only a hand of sites even bother to really talk about it, its like the taboo of the gaming community... Wow is more or less killing how games are thought of vs pvp and pve no longer is about skill at a computer its about gear and what you did to get it when it shouldnt matter what gear your wearing it should always be about your timing, dodgin and skills that you master on your character ugh for the days of ac or uo |

Personally I have decided against buying this epansion right off the bat.It will probably be laggy as hell, spawn campng all over the place, people racing thru the content to be the 1st to start raiding all over again. No not goin to happen this time,I learned from BC. Maybe after 2 weeks or until I find out more about it,I might buy then.If its more of the same than no way not for me. |

Hi all, I am taking leave for the rest of my life. Having all the time to go to soccer, do cycling, watch the movies you've missed and try out the new MMORPG's (well that last one is the BORING thing to do - as all new MMORPG's were just meh...). But WotLK will get my attention now for a 4 - 5 hours a day. A relief to all War blind fanboys on these forums I am sure ---- BTW !!! Stormwind and Ogrimmar are already being massively attacked right now by the Lich King ! Don't miss the action !!!!!! |

WoW has to be the most popular mediocre MMORPG I have ever seen (and played). It is not bad, but not good either. |

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included. |

Im afraid I have to disagree with you, I wouldnt call this one of the biggest events in gaming history, in fact I wouldnt rate it in the top 500,000 gaming events in history. |

Have to lol at the bitter WoW haters on here. Funny how a lot of you would take a day off work if <Insert your so-much-better-than-wow-game here> was released or had an expansion coming out. I'll be taking a day off to savour WotlK in all its beauty and I couldn't give a toss what anyone thinks. |

should be a good day. all the WoW nutters will be out of my face for a sweet 24 hours (at least). though i do think WoW is a decent game i quit months ago and this expansion means nothing to me. that and the fact that, to be honest, for an expansion on one of the most famous lands in the gaming world it leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. that is why i doubt it will do down in gaming history. if anything it will be one of the weaker WoW expansions (in my view). I guess you stand all alone with your opinion :))) 11.000.000 subscriptions don't agree with you. As the rest stands at under 250K and most at under 100K, it is really a question of complete dominance of the MMORPG market. Now let's take that yearly 1.2 billion dollars turnover Blizzard makes tx to Wow.... and rereading what you just wrote .... We could agree it's by far the most important gaming launch in PC history. No PC game comes even close and that 11. 000.000 paying subs - in a 4 year built up - even beats the most succesfull Nintendo launches by a wide margin (40 million copies of Pokemon is peanuts compared to the yearly turnover of monthly/hourly paid and played totals of WoW.). Think about that first. --------- The only VALID rating system is the number of subscriptions btw (paying to vote !) and Wow stands at 4.5 million western subs atm, while the others are under 0.25.

I am sure there are plenty of threads that bash this game, in fact I am positive, you should go check those out.

Now I like how youve reigned in your argument and revised it by saying "its by far the most important gaming launch in PC history. That tells me youve seen the flaw in the previous statement and decided to correct it. Secondly Id say the first game ever to be released on a PC to be far more important than the numbers this expansion will have, speaking purely from the standpoint of whats important, as opposed to what makes the most money. Id say there are many, and I mean many more important events from the birth of the PC that are far more important to the genre overall than the release of 1 expansion for WoW. Id whittle it down to specifics and say that the release of M59, UO, or even EQ were far more important in the grand scheme of things when it comes to MMOs than 1 expansion for WoW. Speaking financially, its a moot point, given the number of players in the genre right now, there wasnt much of a risk being taken by Blizzard at this point. Say 200 years from now, there will be countless games that make more money per expansion, theres no doubt about that. However there will only be certain games remembered as the grandfather of the genre as Ive mentioned, those will be remembered, WoW will be remembered as the mainstream force that commercialized the genre, and nothing more. |

I'm getting tired of people using WoW as a scapegoat for the poor standard of MMO's recently. You shouldn't blame Blizzard for creating a succesful model. Instead blame those developers who copy instead of innovate. WoW does not purport to be an RPG. It is laughable to even consider it such. To be quite honest it should not even be on MMORPG.com as you can see the regard to which it is held amongst this community. I love WoW for what it is - casual, fun, instant-gratication. It is not Baldur's Gate: Online, nor should it pretend to be. Don't get me wrong - I am still waiting for that 'holy grail' of an MMO that incorporates all the dream RPG features we all want in a persistent online world, but quite frankly we are probably 10-20 years away from that. In the meantime, I will stick with WoW. |

Biggest event in gaming history? Nah, not really. The launch of classic WoW does qualify as an game and gender changing event, the launch of this expansion does not. Still, I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy this new expansion, which is all that matters. I should note that the subscription numbers and the money Blizzard is making does not justify the amount of content and the number of expansions produced so far (and their state when they are released, I hope this expansion is complete this time and not at the sorry state of TBC). As a previous poster mentioned, Blizzard is making an enormous amount of money compared to other MMO makers, yet they produce more and cheaper content than Blizzard (thinking about LOTRO and EVE mostly). So, while I'll be playing this expansion (I'm checking all MMOs and expansions), I sure wished Blizzard put a bit more of that money they make back into the game. |

game changing event.. are you on crack? oh you play wow. that explains it...
greatest game event.. quite possibly the launch of windows 3.0 HAHA why ... because before windows we only had Dos... so without windows you have no crap.. err i mean wow.....
yes i hate wow.. cause its a noobish game. might be nicely developed for people but i find it lacks too much.. this Xp isnt really anything new. all games do Xps.. doesnt change the game much.. just condences about 20 updates in to one install CD haha so u think its a new add on but it just adds patchs..
FYI most mmos allow level increase server side.. soo really u dont need an xp to get more maps or more levels... blizard is just farming gold as it were haha |

"48 hours to go untill one of the biggest gaming events in history kicks off " Wrong. Warhammer has launched a month ago. ----------------------------- Ted Treffon: I don't represent Hardbodies. Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either. |

Think you mean two months ago... |

That's more of a joke than the original post. What was WARs impact on the MMO gender exactly? Besides influencing features and changes in WoW? |
