I snatched these from a guy at the EU AoC forum. It looks so good. I have seen lots of DX10 pics before but some of these were just really crazy good. So, I share them with your guys.

Flip snapshots to the left for DX10. If you flip right you will only get some concept art stuff that you most likely have seen before.

Some of those look very impressive. I wonder how well the game will run on DX10

Thats a concern I share too. Even with everything cranked up now in some places FPS suffers, mind you not as much as it did in the first month and I have a great rig too. I like the many graphical options you can choose from currently and I am sure with dx10 there will be multiple seperate features with it that you can adjust to your liking too upon implementation. When it hits test server Im sure there will be plenty of updates performane wise from the community.

Well I am not entirely sure I agree with you here. The word is that DX10 is a much more efficient system. The way the DX10 kernel is handeled by itself is so much better that we most likely will have performance increase in spite of getting even more hefty graphics.

Let me give an analog:

Try to write a inversion code in Basic or Fortran, that's gonna take you page after page with small computations and loops before you have an answer. It will take time.

Try to do the same thing in Matlab 2008 package. Ohhh my, talk about seconds. DX10 represents Matlab 2008 in this crummy example.

I have not tested AoC DX10 yet (not patched into TL still) so I do of course not know this for a fact. But what I told you is what I have read various places about DX10. I am so optimistic on DX10s performance.

Doubtful, every new version of DX has been a much larger resource hog than the previous incarnation.

From what I understand at first they will only bring DX10 features a couple at a time not the whole thing at once, so yeah I'm pretty optimistic.

This has to be the best course of action, one feature, small impact...optimize, then release a second feature, so on and so forth.

Funcom is not the best, AoC has a history , but beyond your grief and anger one has to admit they are doing better, going in the right direction.
