Yeah i'm loving this game.  Don't listen to what people say, try it for yourself.  So many fanboys will say they played it (check out Getalife posts) when they never have, and say it sucks.

Thank you for this insightful piece of info, Clada.

This would be the basic logic exhibited by the kinds of folks that love AoC.

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective.

Low standard man, very low.

I have high standards, and I rate AoC 3/10, which is higher than it deserves if I start to mention the lies and scams and service in general.

On the other side, there is one MMO that deserves the high score of 8/10, and that is World of Warcraft. Best MMO there is to this date.

just a word to the op
i too was very excited when i first started conan, i bought on launch day and reached 80 with my ranger like 1 month later
it was then i lost all my hope, all the grafics and neat music wont keep u playing conan after u reach 80.
there´s Nothing to do at 80 except soome poorly design bugged raids and pvp in 1 linear tiny area of the game, c´mon!
i left the game around 3months now and from what i saw i can tell u i will come back someday and play since i bought a quadcore new pc to play AoC but it will be in a looong time. when they actually build a "game" in it...

I wouldn't say best but certainly the most successful. Then again different people like different things. WoW has found the magic formula of what average MMO gamer wants and they have delivered it. You have to respect Blizzard.

Me giving grades.

WOW 3/10

AoC 8/10

I live by quality above quantity. WOW has a lot of content no doubt, but that doesn't automatically make it to a good game.

AoC is not 10/10. Not even close. I rate AoC as 6/10. Maybe 7/10 for pve and 5/10 for pvp.

High standards and giving 8/10 for Disney type MMO?

I won't argue about dislike of AoC(still think 7/10  would be fair enough) , but giving 8/10 to game that is designed for 10 y/o kinda puts down any reality in other grades

I assume Hellokitty would be 7/10 in your book?

can i get something of whatever it is you shoot up every day?

it is at best 7/10 in first character. 4/10 in endgame as it is not there. 1/10 in replay/alt character as you do the same shit all over again.

Sounds about right.

I leveled up a Ranger. After they nerfed it into a totaly useless class i was thinking of rerolling another class. But i could not bring my self to do the same quests over and over again.

Im curently playing wow and am 39 years old. Im in a guild of about 80 members with an average age of 30.

What I love about people stating wow is for 10 y/o kids are probably only 12 themselves.

Agreed wow does has a younger player base than most MMO's. But it does not mean that it caters for them only. The reason Im still playing wow is its by far the best mmo out there to date. It has a lot of short fallings, but not as many as aweful games like AoC dressed up looking pretty but no substance underneath.

Give me something to do in an mmo other than looking at the pretty pixels.

It might be the best mmo for the population and "bandwagon jumper" but no where near the best.

In my opinion the problem with AoC is that the game is unfinished. The game is not bad, it's good on character creation, its good on loreamd its good on combat design, but it's unfinished. Unfinished content, unfinished gameplay, unfinished character customization, unfinished itemization. I hope it improves and maybe in some point in the future I can play it again and have fun.

The game is so absolutely finished now. Everything is in place besides DX10, which I don't care about a nyway. Test it out and you will know what I am talking about.

Forgive me, I'm old and stupid, but what the hell is a 'shill' anyway? And another one that gets me, what's a 'trammie'?

a shill is a plant. like the proverbial "volunteer from the audience" at a magic show. or when someone has a friend bid on their ebay auction to drive up the price.

trammie is suspect but here:

A shill is someone who pretends to be a customer but in reality is employeed by the company, so they would be here telling us how they love the game, how they have been playing a month and it's awesome, how i'ts 10/10 when really they are either staff of funcom or people employeed by funcom to market the game.

I'm not sure I've ever heard the word trammie before, if I had to guess though one of the first successful mmo's was ultima online (UO) the second expansion introduced trammel, a copy of the world without pvp, this is widely regarded as where UO began to go drastically down hill and lost alot of people. So if I was guessing I'd say a trammie was someone who prefered the pve only part of UO and not the proper main area. So trammie would be a derogatory term meaning someone is a carebear, other games might call someone like this a bluebie because they play on the blue pve servers.

trammel was getting on for 10 years ago so its the older gamers that remember it better. The game was a little before I got into mmo's because at that time our dial up internet was pay by the minute which doesn't suit mmo gaming at all.

ironically since many here may concider me a hater (though I'm not) my first mmo that I really got into was funcoms anarchy online. That game has one of the best character development systems that any game has ever had, of course it was a bit overcomplicated but it was so deep.

I am giving you a bump Pezz, since you are a fellow gamer. I am a crafter and 9/10 is too high score, but with latest crafting upgrades in patch 3.0 I think it is a solid 8/10.

Tell me, what is so good about crafting? Have they done any major changes to it?

When I did crafting I thought it was the worst part of AoC. I mean clicking some rock or a tree a thousand times to get some rare materials? Can it get any more boring then that? If I didn't know about resource collecting in AoC and someone told me about it, I wouldn't believe him and I would think he was joking.

But then again I'm not a big fan of crafting in any shape or form.
