Yeah i'm loving this game. Don't listen to what people say, try it for yourself. So many fanboys will say they played it (check out Getalife posts) when they never have, and say it sucks.

Thank you for this insightful piece of info, Clada. This would be the basic logic exhibited by the kinds of folks that love AoC.

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective. |
Low standard man, very low. I have high standards, and I rate AoC 3/10, which is higher than it deserves if I start to mention the lies and scams and service in general.
On the other side, there is one MMO that deserves the high score of 8/10, and that is World of Warcraft. Best MMO there is to this date. |

AoC is not 10/10. Not even close. I rate AoC as 6/10. Maybe 7/10 for pve and 5/10 for pvp. |

can i get something of whatever it is you shoot up every day?
it is at best 7/10 in first character. 4/10 in endgame as it is not there. 1/10 in replay/alt character as you do the same shit all over again. |

Im curently playing wow and am 39 years old. Im in a guild of about 80 members with an average age of 30. What I love about people stating wow is for 10 y/o kids are probably only 12 themselves. Agreed wow does has a younger player base than most MMO's. But it does not mean that it caters for them only. The reason Im still playing wow is its by far the best mmo out there to date. It has a lot of short fallings, but not as many as aweful games like AoC dressed up looking pretty but no substance underneath. Give me something to do in an mmo other than looking at the pretty pixels. |

It might be the best mmo for the population and "bandwagon jumper" but no where near the best.

In my opinion the problem with AoC is that the game is unfinished. The game is not bad, it's good on character creation, its good on loreamd its good on combat design, but it's unfinished. Unfinished content, unfinished gameplay, unfinished character customization, unfinished itemization. I hope it improves and maybe in some point in the future I can play it again and have fun. -=AlaKraM=- |

Forgive me, I'm old and stupid, but what the hell is a 'shill' anyway? And another one that gets me, what's a 'trammie'?

a shill is a plant. like the proverbial "volunteer from the audience" at a magic show. or when someone has a friend bid on their ebay auction to drive up the price. trammie is suspect but here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=trammie |

A shill is someone who pretends to be a customer but in reality is employeed by the company, so they would be here telling us how they love the game, how they have been playing a month and it's awesome, how i'ts 10/10 when really they are either staff of funcom or people employeed by funcom to market the game. I'm not sure I've ever heard the word trammie before, if I had to guess though one of the first successful mmo's was ultima online (UO) the second expansion introduced trammel, a copy of the world without pvp, this is widely regarded as where UO began to go drastically down hill and lost alot of people. So if I was guessing I'd say a trammie was someone who prefered the pve only part of UO and not the proper main area. So trammie would be a derogatory term meaning someone is a carebear, other games might call someone like this a bluebie because they play on the blue pve servers. |

ah someone beat me too it, looks like I was correct with my trammie guess though. |

lol - thanks guys, I think I'm getting too old for this lark..! |

trammel was getting on for 10 years ago so its the older gamers that remember it better. The game was a little before I got into mmo's because at that time our dial up internet was pay by the minute which doesn't suit mmo gaming at all. ironically since many here may concider me a hater (though I'm not) my first mmo that I really got into was funcoms anarchy online. That game has one of the best character development systems that any game has ever had, of course it was a bit overcomplicated but it was so deep. |

Tell me, what is so good about crafting? Have they done any major changes to it? When I did crafting I thought it was the worst part of AoC. I mean clicking some rock or a tree a thousand times to get some rare materials? Can it get any more boring then that? If I didn't know about resource collecting in AoC and someone told me about it, I wouldn't believe him and I would think he was joking. But then again I'm not a big fan of crafting in any shape or form. |
