Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started. |
I agree so much with the OP RvR is worse than Daoc I could care less about graphics.. they are fine in War except for a little bland when it comes to animations.

You're right. The only game I played that was similar to UO (from what I have heard) in the sense of "no levels" was SWG, which is possibly the best MMORPG I have ever played. I was too young for UO, but I heard that it was great. EQ is good, but the same thing over and over again is lame. I just think that the consumers are afraid of change and that the businesses are afraid to change their style for the reason that they might lose money. |

I agree to every single word of the OP. Spot on! Take heart, kazson, we are more than you think! |

So in other words ur not a gamer but a game stalker. I forgot a part time arm chair developer also. A true prophet of mmorpgs. |

Agreed: WAR = Fail.
On the custimization though they strayed for more of a tabletop feel. |

Originally posted by kazson acutally you dont understand ill better explain my point....Crysis and Fear are 2 games that will bring even the most powerul PC to their knees. even years after with Fear. however games such as Call of Duty 4 and UT3 prove you can have games that look great and run 60-150fps on med and high end hardware and run 30fps on low-med specs. its shortsighted to think that you have to have below average graphics to run anything with alot of players....Resitiance 2 has 60 player maps and it runs on a console with much less ablity than a average PC with a much higher graphic demand. even AoC has proved once they got their bugs worked out you can have high graphics a 40+ players on the screen adn still have a playable framerate.... im not asking for Crysis graphics just a middle ground. what we were given was not a middle ground but a low road. once again this is just my opinion and i of course respect yours ive been playing MMO's since UO so no need to call in to question what i know about MMO's Once again MMO's ARE NOT GOING TO RESEMBLE SINGLE PLAYER OR ONLINE FPS GAMES. This isn't even debatable. You ever wonder what kind of concessions have to be made to a make a mmo even resemble that lvl of graphics? Basically you have to put everyone into instances of instances like AOC. Now for one sec lets say you want to fight 100's on 100's in a small space, take a guess which mmo would render that situation better AOC or Warhammer.
Thats why we all kinda laughed when you render a lvl in COD4 or any other FPS the actually geometry of the boards is absolutely tiny so rendering that is quite a bit easier than rendering a world that is 10 or more times the real estate just for the geometry of the area that you are in let alone all the lighting, bit mapping and individual character details. Ever wonder why Korean games have so little customization when they are centered around PVP? I've just given you your answer. Like it or not you won't see a mmo that even compares to COD4 or any other FPS in the near future, most PC's have way to many bottlenecks for the things you are wishing for to become a reality in the near future. |

I wanted to love this game so much and I even tried to look for any reason to stay...amazing graphics? nope...amazing PvP? nope.....Keep battles must be uber then? nope....I played the first month and I told myself that I wasn't enjoying the game because I hadn't got into RvR or Keep battles. Well I got into one with 20 players and it was so dull I actually think i jumped off the edge of one. 20 players standing around pulling a mob at a time and getting pushed off a narrow ledge...not fun at all. The main point I agree with is asking why they didn't let players build the keeps. Imagine starting the game and each side racing to build their own keeps? Wow! Even crafters could contribute and help with materials. WAR did preach about being 2 gen and right out there as far as innovation. What we got was pretty much the same but even less so. Scenarios, PQs are fun for 1 week then its just dull. They need to focus more on crafting and generating a feeling that players actually make a difference. You can tell no one cares because even if destruction rule the map no one is that bothered. Even saying all that I hope they fix it and bring in a ton of content. |

Just because a game is a new release doesnt mean it has to be groundbreaking in everyway..if people are happy playing it then thats what matters. Im happy to have an MMO set in the Warhammer world, and at the moment im enjoying it (32 Black Orc). I have hope that they will add content and improve the game, just as they have been doing pretty well. They are even putting in 2 of the classes that were dropped from launch - the knight of the burning sun and the dark elf tank. Im sure the people at mythic are aware of the problems in the game, dont think you are some mighty prophet and its only you who notices things, they have addressed many problems that have come up, hopefully RvR will be next (they have increased xp/renown partaking and even capturing objectives). The graphic style imo is good..its really inline with the tabletop style..not like they gonna have ultra realistc grapihcs for a fucking mmo based on plastic models.
