http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=12065276937&sid=1 NOT! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the speculation this year that AoC and WAR might stand up to WoW, because I believed they wouldn't stand a chance. Secretly, I was kind of rooting for the underdog, which is why I went out and bought WAR, cancelling my WoW account. But now I'm back where I expected to be... cancelling WAR after a month and reactivating my WoW account. I think Blizzard has just had too much time to polish their game and make a bunch of money to pump out new content that just keeps getting better and better. Graphics aren't everything, especially in MMOs. Hell, look at this game I used to enjoy back in the 90s and maybe you'll see why: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/49
If WAR ever becomes better than WoW, I estimate it would take at least a year for the developers to polish WAR up enough to stand a chance. Even then, they wouldn't have the financial resources and WoW would just be that far ahead of them again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional. |

There was no speculation its was just dumb people trying to make crap to talk about. 10million people arn't just going to quit something they like in a matter or weeks. It will take years for WoW to die and it will be years of decline not just one all out BAM no one playing WoW. When EQ1 lost its title it wasnt overnite it took awhile and it was over a few years. |

You must really crave approval from random people you've never met on the internet. I'm suprised your entire bio isn't in your signature so we are all "aware" of who you are and what your opinions are. Do you have a trading card too, mr. important? btw, if you couldn't see through the sarcasm, or can't read english I basically said "who cares?" PLAY WURM ONLINE!! www.wurmonline.com |

Blizzard made a monster. I am a big fan of the RTS WC games. Hell i still play WC3. As an mmo though I am in the minority of gamers that made the jump to WoW. It's a bit classless to hop on the forum for a game you don't enjoy simply to bash. If you don't like the game thats great, tell your friends and family. |

You serious? You're the troll coming from the WOW forums over here to stir the pot. I see you're a level 12 forum troll with 364 hitpoints and about 3 mana. Guess you haven't worked on your INT stat too much, have you? You should stick to what you're good at, forum troll, and leave the thinking to the non-brutes. PLAY WURM ONLINE!! www.wurmonline.com |

It has nothing to do with AoC or WaR or any other MMORPG but WoW's heyday is over. The new expansion brings nothing new. WoW will have the EXACT same gameplay next month as it did when it first launched. The MMORPG desperately needs a breath of fresh air. Too bad nothing on the horizon is promising that. |

"Kill it, Frag it, Nuke it; I don't care just so long as it dies" |
Originally posted by Crazy00Eyes I'm not really sure who you were getting your information from but WAR was never made to kill WoW. There were some people out there that just hated WOW and wanted it to die someway, hence we saw "AOC will kill WoW" and "WAR will kill WoW" and now those games are out and you know what? WoW is still the top MMO. Now don't get me wrong I love WAR and I'm actually subscribed to both games at this time, I find that both have interesting and fun content. Initially I quit WoW because I was getting bored of the same old same old, mat grinding, raiding, etc. When WAR came out it was/is a lot of fun: heavy PVP elements, fun classes, better community (last one is arguable) But I never joined expecting WAR to topple WoW. In fact I'd hoped for quite the opposite, if WAR destroyed WoW where would all the WoW players go? Yeah no thanks to that. In short I guess what I'm saying is that even though WAR didn't defeat WOW is that really the point? I mean in any other genre is it always the duty of the new game to take away people from the old game and make them hate it? I don't know maybe I'm missing your point. But in reality, as long as people are playing both and enjoying both is there any need for one to kill the other?

wow went downhill with TBC imo, this next update is just going to make a bunch more dungeons even more useless and gear/patterns etc not even worth going out and getting. 40 man raids is where it WAS at. I highly disagree with your keeps getting better and better remark. Not to mention 40 dollars for a damn expansion is a rip off. 10 more dollars can buy you a brand new game. Plus if you think about all the little kids that are just getting to the age of where the parents are letting them get into PC games or what not and the folks that are just getting into MMO's etc, of couse wow being the popular game atm most are going to try that one first. How many of those account are folks that came back after quitting? Not many i bet. |

What's the fun in it if no blood is being spilt and outlandish claims aren't being made? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hmm.. the announcement Blizzard made today begs to differ http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/081028.html That means since July, Blizzard has picked up 300,000 subscriptions. The game is growing at a rate of 100,000 subscribers per month and Wrath hasn't even launched yet. They had to open up new servers in the past few weeks as well as the Russian migration. yeah.. the hayday is over. Why in the world would WOW drastically change gameplay when they have 11M people playing and are gaining 100k players a month with their current gameplay. Maybe tomorrow MJ will announce that they finally figured out how to do server mergers... tell me again.. which game is on a downward slope? ................................................ |
