I played starwars of the old republic series and it was good. Now, when i see this game as a mmorpg, i think it will be exacly like guild wars. I just hope it wont be like the old old republic from the series with the rock paper scisors systeme. It was so stupid. Only the story was good.

Anyway, if starwars will be pay to play, i will not pay because i hate guild wars. Even if it become a wow clone, i will not play too because i hate wow.

If it become a starwars jedi knight jedi academy mmorpg, i will pay to play.

Darkfall online will be the best mmorpg and i will pay to play for that kind of game were you have the freedom to do anything you want without leveling everyday.

Do you guys think it will be a GW clone or a WOW clone?

Well, I hope it has Final Fantasy XI's story driven PvE end game, working together, fun events. Age of Conan's and Crysis's graphics with 2010 new decade graphics. Warhammer's RvR and PvP and Tabula Rasa's gameplay. Yes, that would be a kick ass MMORPG. With a taste of WoW's population and Guild Wars's and Final Fantasy XI's community. Then yeah....will be a great game.

it wont be a GW or DDO type game, its not going to be puyre instance. if i had to guess, i think it will be more like wow or war with story driven content.

personally i hope it is a "clone" any successful game post wow will need to take stuff from wow and other games and improve them, that is exactly what blizzard did with great success.

i think this game could be very cool if people would just calm down and take from it what it is, just another game in development, its not going to fill the void in your life that has been missing since you quit your first MMO lol

I bet the fighting systeme will look like guild wars. If you think it wont, its because you dint watch the screenshots. I dont think it will be like wow when you can move and attack at the same time + using skills.

Sith versus jedi but the game is base on pve only. I bet we will have some ?/"%? BG's and i bet the world pvp will be dead after a month.

I dont believe it will be full instanced like GW, but i dont believe less instance will save that kind for many player base. This game will stay alive for he's title only.

It do have the same cartoon style as wow so why not go back to wow if you really wonna play that game? I bet you could only exprerience the Real pvp at end game only. I hate the words end game in a mmorpg. In darkfall, a end game player will have the same fun as a newb or average. No $?$?& levels. I like that.

lol...your argument contains already 2 invalid points:

1) they said "Players like a wide open world, and we will bring it to them" and there will be some instances (a la dungeons and such)

2) there will be pvp, they said so themselves, and are even hinting at some rvr

 If its not a WOW clone, its a Guild Wars clone. If its not that its an Everquest II clone...

To a bit further with the combat thing the developers have already stated they want to do something different with the combat system instead of the traditional method.

As far as the guildwars clone thing, it has already been stated that the game will not be pure instance but there will be some for certain parts of the story. The story driven concept they keep driving at sounds like all the did is make quests that have more substance and are a full blown adventure/story instead of just a means of leveling and filling time.

All we know is there WILL be pvp and nothing more so your assumption about a Battlegrounds ridden game has no foundation to stand on.

I am tired of the endless fools running around calling every single new game a clone of some other game. It is completely different to guildwars in almost every sigle way other than its a mmo.

My interest wanes when I think about Nancy Mcintyre's words with regard to gameplay.

I just feel strongly that LEC is going to force the issue of the game being easy as they have done with similar titles.

An MMO should never be "hard" but it should be engaging. Adults won't play if its too easy and kids won't play for too long.

If BioWare is able to find that middle ground and provide more than just a "good story" then there is hope.

Heh, this thread is a clone. This whole ridiculous argument 'This game is a clone of this game!' is over done. All of these games take something from a previous one. Including Darkfall as well. It is how the world works. What matters is how the developers present their spin and what they bring to the table. I can care less if they have something similar to another game or whatever. I just care how they present their idea around it.

I know that take some idea from other game is a good idea. Sometime, it become old. KOTOR take idea from game that become boring after a week or a month.
 

Darkfall take idea from good games. Ultima online, elder scroll and some other game too. They also think about many kind of players like me as a casual gamer. Thats why i like the idea.

I'm not a lucas art game hater. I played complete all the stawars from the super nes and n64. Now, my favorite starwars is jedi knight jedi academy.

Ol republic online, i dont think it will be very good. You guys hype too much stawars mmorpg and it will get the same faith as warhammer and AOC.

Warhmmaer will kill wow. When it come out, i heard many whine about how warhammer sux. Now, i even heard that many warhammer players will switch to darkfall. Even aoc players.

If you quit wow for any reason, you will leave other game that look like it.

Funny thing is that even though there is so little information out about TOR, it might already have released more information than Darkfall, yet the OP already knows TOR will suck and Darkfall will be the best mmo eva!

I'm speaking with regard to statements she's given on the gaming experience for their "target audience" in general.

BioWare is putting their own "story-telling" spin on the NGE. So maybe this isn't a guild wars clone, maybe it's something much worse....

Thats right because i heard that we could make a party with computers only. Thats exacly what GW did. Story = instance in a mmorpg. No instance with story = more world quest like wow.

Well at least this guy has some sence here. Untill the game is actually played by the public none of you can claim it as a clone of any game. I am sure  upon release there will be enouph of the 'clone' stories then. But WTF? Do ya hafta start these claims just a few days after the game is announced? What MMO even has a chance with many of you posters when almost every game that is not your game is constantly shot down?

 Wow, you can tell how the game will be, by watching some screenshots?! So you probably also know every single quest, including the complete storyline, etc. Right? 
Oh right, you don't... Instead of going for the logical, that it will be like kotor, but then online, you're already saying it will be a GW/WoW clone. Based on a few screens, and possibly some dev interviews etc. BUT, I doubt even the devs know what they're going for exactly. As long as they don't have a release date, EVERYTHING can change. 

Just sit back, and relax, and don't start threads like this, untill there are some facts. As long as there aren't any, stay with commenting screenshots...
