Anyone know of a MMO forum that Isn't full of players who don't play MMOs? 90% of this forum are bitter old school MMO players that haven't played a MMO since '05. I'm tired of the Viral Marketers, the Fanbois, the Haters, the MMO terrorists trying to sway people from other games. I want Game reviews from players that aren't bias that actually give players informative reviews not a flame fest. I want to get away from the people that don't even play MMOs but yet they feel the need to troll every game and label them as a copycat. Does a forum exist where the players don't have commitment issues with MMOs? (jumping from game to game every month) I like sandbox games, I don't mind linear games, Hell I can eve tolerate Free to play MMOs. I want to be apart of a forum that actually reads a game description before they try the game so they don't have to polute a forum with mindless rants on how a game isn't "thier game". I want a forum that's actually moderated, one that deletes obvious Viral marketing posts. Any help would be great.

There's a few other smaller forums scattered throughout the internet, but for the most part this is it. The sad fact is, no matter what online forum you venture to...there will inevitably be "fanbois", "trolls", naysayers what have you. It's the nature of the beast. I think you are expecting much more from a forum than what's intended. It's a central social hub where all people from different walks of life/ opinion all come together...mashed into one. What this forum is not, that I think some forget sometimes, is a buffet where you can selectively choose what you wish to hear/see with convenience. I've seen critical player reviews on this website for almost every game i've been interested in, you just have to really dig and wait for them. I would start ignoring users more often, find bloggers that your opinion seems to gravitate towards. I suppose the ironic thing about all of this, you are asking for an alternative from the very source that you are complaining about. |

You get the good and the bad and all in-between on the web. I guess it could be called good if all of the posts are not flames |

If this site wasn't frequented by gamers who don't play MMO's then i'm afraid they wouldn't make much money from advertising, so be thankful that they do visit so we have a site/forum to whine on. You could always create a Yahoo! or Google group for MMO games

Well if you aren't reading the posts on this site, then you are missing out on the best info available. I have not found any better forums. Better to see both the negative and postive posts. Pretty easy to see those that don't truely represent the game. Just ignore the trolls, they ususally only have a comment with nothing to support it. Won't be any different on any other site either.

Player accomplishment is relative to the chance of meaningful consequences in the event you loose. |

You want something that doesn't exist my friend. A world that conforms to your expectation. Good luck finding it..... Now you can call this a flame, but the point of this post is to ask you to step back and really read what you wrote.... Cheers
Presentation that discusses a new type of economics for the MMORPG genre. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/244996/My-new-economics-concept.html Money is what you give when you have nothing to trade the person that has what you want. Guess you are a WAR player. You can try the Warhammer Alliance forums if you are. |

Did you just say you don't like the opinions of anyone on this forum and then follow it up by asking for their opinion on a better forum?
This is the best forum ever! You can't find one that does MMOs better than this! It's unique and somehow better than the rest!
This is the worst forum ever, it's too generic, it's not what I expected. Whenever I'm looking for something I crash to desktop or get lag cause I'm running a PC from the mid 90's.
This forum isn't that great, you should probably go to w ww.bettermmoforums.com. They're so much better than this, you should try it. You'll never leave it.
So yeah, instead of whining, you could just look around.. There's dozens of MMO sites and they've got forums too. You'll find about the same crowd at all of them though. If you're looking for nothing but positive feedback, try finding a fansite for the game you want to hear good stuff about. If it's run by fans, they can keep the haters out by banning them or deleting posts/threads.

And to be completely honest, what's it matter if the MMO player has been playing for so many years? The longer we've played, the more perspective we've got. I've got a viewpoint that I don't need all my games to have WoW UI and I don't need to farm raids for gear. I can see the quality, or lack there of, in any game. Don't look to forums for an opinion, make one for yourself. Play the game and try it out. Most of them have trials.. or are free to begin with.. |

Help someone who can not return the favor. |
I agree with the OP and tool089. I recently made my own blogging website away from the undesirable people to express my own opinions on recently released games. It's not much now, but it's slowly building up and I hope it will be a valued source of information someday. Feel free to visit it at Mistress of MMOs. If you ever make your own website, OP, lemme know and I'll add you as a link or something. mmorpg.com is still a valuable place for information on games, but you have to have tolerance and be willing to weed through all the pewp. It's somewhat of the same thing when you play a game too much and you get burnt out. If it gets to be a little much just take a break for awhile.

I find this hilarious because I lurked the forums for a damn long time waiting till I saw a potential rush of new great MMO's. There are of course people I like on the forum (Enigma's recent blog has won me as a fan of his haha) and of course some I do not like as much (I am not going to name any names but...lets say similar to Corporal Toad _____________________________ This is his story.... |
