since both versions are the same I am trying to decide what would be best to get it on.

I am leaning towards 360 just for stability(computers somtimes crash or slow down more then my 360)

my question is more in how do the controls handle on the 360? good or clunky?

Mattering on the configuration of you PC, the 360 is going to have better looking graphics and sound easy. The money you probably would have to spend to get that quality would be more than you'd pay for a new 360. Since you already have both if you want it to look at sound better i'd go with the 360. Also with the 360 you get achievements so you can boost your gamer score a lot if you play (have played) FFXI a lot.

I have heard of a few people's 360 failing because they play FFXI too much ... if that is something you don't want to deal with then I'd stick with PC. I have it for both so i bounce back and forth between the systems mattering on if there is something on TV i wanna watch.

Regardless of which one you choose, I suggest using a keyboard for the game for either. The controller on the 360 is good if you are starting from scratch, but if you are an old schooler like me or if you think you might migrate over to the PC version later I'd recommend a keyboard for ease of use.

I'd go with either of them. I play on PC and recently got a copy for my 360, it's great on both. I do like sitting back on my couch and playing with 360 but when I'm doing things with my LS i like to use my PC because of Ventrilo and the graphics look better on my PC but my PC's capabilites are overkill for FFXI.

If I had a nice big screen I might just solely use the 360 though and just use my laptop for vent the because controller is nice but having to pick up and set down the controller for typing can be annoying.

I use to play this on both 360 and pc. 360 is more ideal due to the fact that the content of the game is so epicly humungous. Most computers are more unreliable at keeping it running for several hours straight. Oh by the way I use to play this game, not anymore, but I can say its a brilliant game to play and I wish you the best of luck on it (I stopped playing to focus on school work, but probably will come back or probably not, I don't know fate is so complicated lol)

I never had problems running this game even when I played it on a P3 800mhz laptop for 16 hours straight. I used to play this game no less than 4 hours at a time but more like 6 to 8 hours on average. Not to mention leaving my character logged in at Jueno overnight to sell stuff in my bizzar. But I like running with the controler compared to using a keyboard.  You can plug a usb keybaord into the 360 so you can type that way.

If you like data swapping then the PC is the way to go; I know of people and sites that have thousands of custom made skins that are client side that make you look very cool and even have a huge dragon as a pet (to replace the wyvern for dragoons).

It's quite an exceptional boost to the gameplay visually.

Personally, i think the game sucks but i have a friend whose brothers play this game hardcore, his brother plays 2 characters at once , one on his XBOX and one on his computer, from what i saw you could easily tell that the graphics on the computer version were much crisper. dunno if that matters to you , but it's what i know

Indeed.

There are also custom skins for entire zones for the computer versions; Valkurm Dunes has a complete make over both in texture and shadows with a few player made skins that replace the zone's look client side.

It should probably be noted you need to keep up a Live subscription as well as your FFXI subscription if you're going to do it on the 360. Not much I know, but still something of note. Personally, I think it would be less of a hassle on the PC. If you really want the controller that much, just get the usb dongle that lets you use the 360 wireless controllers on your PC.

All you need is Xbox Live Silver Membership. That's what I use and I am able to play on my 360.
