It really shouldn't be a surprise that LA are seeking out the "WoW crowd", afterall, this was the original intent of the NGE. I think you'll find that in the eyes of LA, they see no need to add sandbox type features with crafting, etc as they have SWG to fill that role. Hopefully with KOTORO, LA will start putting a bigger focus into the GCW and other unique features of SWG rather then appealing to those looking for a Jedi fix...

Did you think the high lasts forever or do you remember that games are for FUN not to satisfy your urges for the perfect high once again. I'm so sick of this tripe. As far as I can see, SWTOR isn't that bad in the graphic. Sure, some like more realistic feel to the graphic, but seriously, if you are not supporting the project with money, what gives you the authority to make any demands?
As for the machine, average gamers might probably upgrade their PC once per year, some more hardcore gamers might do it every 3 - 6 months. But there still gamers that doesn't change their system until 2+ years. And guess what? those machines have problems when it comes to graphic-heavy games. Are you going to pay for their upgrade? if not, then don't complain about why they choose to use less realistic graphic for the masses. If you are paying for people's upgrade, then you can pay for mine (a $4000 machine would get my machine going, thank you.)
Personally I don't think their art direction is that bad. Sure it's not realistic feeling, but it doesn't look that bad when compare to many other MMOs out there on the market. pre-alpha. all i will say :). give it a couple of years to develop. ive seen this happen too much lately but alot of gamers out there just bag games before any real concept is shown, or they want games to come out as fast as possible like spoilt little brats. I say AT LEAST wait for some gameplay videos, or some confirmation that the graphics are like that, or are still in planning stage meaning they can change them if they wanted to. everyone has to just give time, sadly not many like to wait for the future.

Posts like this are just making it seem more likely than ever that the MMO community is about to implode in upon itself. Has it really got to the stage where expectation levels for games have reached such feverish levels that they are ripped to pieces the very day of announcement? Madness.

It would have been nice that kotor mmo would use mass effect graphics (which is sublime), but I am sure not gonna pass on this by not trying it out :) I am too much of a SW fan to pass on this. |
