Originally posted by Pelaaja Actually, you fill the character quite well too. Specially the lunatic one. Or maybe more like a stalker. Weren't you the ones that couldn't care less if this piece of s**t game died or not? Still you stalk WAR in the web... You really think you can change the industry with your opinions, when you're not even in the inner circle like the people you criticize... get a life and "discuss" in another games forums, will you? OP: It makes me sad to realize some people have such little in life to get worked over a computer game. Dr.Phil might be able to help these? Errr... eveybody can post their opinion wether you like them or not. So breath out brother. With regards to MJ, nope, sorry folks, I think he is a real pudding. He can't set the standard by flaming competitors and then expect other people to get rose petals himself (even though the individuals that bug him is just very disapointed WAR gamers) . It's Karma, what comes around goes around. To threaten somebody on their life is always really FCUK upped, but come on, the guy don't have to collaps like this. If I was going to shit my pants every time somebody threatened me in my job, I wound soon be one piss and poop stinking Son of a Bitch. That's just too weak. Mark, If your whimping is not another sick marketig ploy I'd say, grow a FCUKing backbone!! |

People on the Internet are ridiculous. What baffles me is that people can be quite mature and friendly adults, working on their job as any normal person, but turn into immature, whining bastars when they go to an Internet forum, and stoop as low as making death threats on developers. I hope Mark and other developers have gotten to the point where they can just laugh at this stuff rather than letting it get to them. Mark is a veteran by now, at least. |

It's no wonder that the world looks like this. Blow up the internet and destroy all computers and noone has to be angry over those games, they seem to be more trouble for everyone then enjoyment.
(at least if you read those forums) |

Well everybody loved John Lennon and some disturbed guy did assassinate him. One sick individual among the multitude of admirers is all it takes. WoW has 10 million subs. It would be statistically totally improbable that not one of them has no mental problems. If WAR gets one million that's a pretty huge population pool to draw all kinds of wackos - just one disgruntled player with a psychotic streak is all it takes as I said before. I met a guy who kept explaining to everybody how WoW stole his girlfriend. Yes, he was totally obsessed with it - he was against her spending time playing and the relationship broke. I can totally see him being drunk and assaulting Kaplan in a chance meeting for example. These are not laughing matters. Imo public persons in the gaming industry will have to start protecting their privacy and physical safety in ways similar to how other stars cope. In fact gaming has become such a powerful and popular medium that it is a wonder anything nasty didn't happen yet. |

yes. he has changed the industry, and i really hope outhers follows his example.. because hes more or less the only game creators that acturly take a part of the community, and is a little on our level. and a gamer is a gamer, why should a gamer be mature? playing games is far far from mature in nature. whats make them different from us, is that they make the game they want to play, where outhers just stand on the side filled with jellousy, and compain about something, without doing anything to change something. |

I mean I don't like Kaplan, he is an arrogant prick, but c'mon people Yes MMO players are by and large nutjobs..I have often told the tale of the Stalker my freind who managed a Gamestop had.......this guy was Convinced they actually exsisted as their Charcaters in a Alternate demension, thank god he was stopped by the cops in the parking garage of the mall, the maniac had enough weapons to start a small war, he had wrote these long letters to her saying that the only way they could be together in the "Real world " was to leave this one together. She quit her job the same day sold her PC and refuses to go anywhere near online or RP games again. MJ is a decent guy I have spoken with him many times he actually respects the gaming community, which is somthing a lot of guys at Blizzard and SOE dosen't do, but he is quite correct, one day one of these nuts will seriousley hurt or kill a devloper and then our Genre will change forever for the worse. |

It's hilarious watching bodypass on his anti-WAR vendetta now trying to make Mark look like the lunatic, even though he's the guy receiving death threats, rather than the one making them. But but! The guy is receiving mail! Surely he is insane! Priceless. |

This is really immature stuff you hardly would expect from a guy at CEO level.
One word: Pathetic!!
I think you'd be running out of patience if you were bombarded with constant immature crap from little school boys. The ultimate has to be receiving death threats from those little nerdlings who'd be to scared to talk to him on teamspeak, never mind coming to kill him. Dealing with gaming generation Y is enough to send any dev crazy. There's nothing pathetic about him getting some stuff off his chest letting us know the antics his had to deal with from these school boys.

Either way, this is not an attitude of a manager of a multi million dollar gaming enterprise. Can you see the reaction of the EA bosses reading this stuff ??? He's totally flipped I think and compare this to the cool guitar playing Blizzard management. The best part was when someone overhere said it was perhaps a Wow fan who made personal death threads. Prolem is MJ speaks of multiple threads and in earlier posts even challenged the complete manager staff of Blizzard ("gloves are off"). What a laugh. The man is desperate, I wonder why. |

The problem is that when you're the voice of a company you need to remain professional despite what people say about you. He needs to be careful as he is not sending out a good message to prospective customers or investors. As the old adage goes; you don't sh*t on your own doorstep. |

"...the cool guitar playing Blizzard management." Bodypass, you are going too far. I implore you to stop or you will become the ridicule of this site. Are you sure you're not a Mythic's viral marketeer? Hired on a black-flag operation to make all WoW fans look bad?
