actually they've come up with a way to bring random ganking to the pvp "safe" areas.
it's just that when you die you get ported back to your own pvp "safe" area. KERPLAH! |

well its not going to be 100% gank free but there wont be much ganking.

Yeah I think the idea is that random portals open up that will link the worlds together and there will be no warning of these opening or a way to track them so you cannot really organise going through them. When you go through these, you appear somewhere in the other race's world where you are free to cause all the chaos you like. I'm not sure what restrictions there will be, but I havn't read about any so far, so for now I presume its just free pvp where you can attack who you like. Yeah, when you die, you are teleported back to your own world, meaning that it may be very hard to stay in the other race's world for any prolonged period of time. Not sure if you will be able to return to your world without dieing though. Hopefully, this will add a risk element to normal pve as someone could always pop out and pvp with you. However, because players wouldn't say be able to organise together a huge team of players to go through, and it may be quite rare that you come across one - it should make interesting gameplay without the risk of ganking or overdoing it. ------------------------------

Might aswell clarify that we aren't talking about the abyss here, but about one of the four known ways to pvp (the other three being the abyss, casual racial arenas and duels system). In the abyss ganking will happen for sure. About the possibility to organize through portals, it might be possible, everything is being tweaked and it might change, but CBT2 featured rifts, and during CBT2 many massive fights happened on the main lands, even city havoc, in CBT2 those rifts were opened the whole time though, and I think they will stay for ~5 minutes on the release, enough to organize a party or two and get to the place if someone spots where it happens. |

haha i got a scare reading this thread title, wondering why it wasnt on aionsource...
Ganking is still going to happen in the abyss, you can guarantee when you are questing/pveing/raiding in the abyss that you will get ganked, and thats what i'm looking forward to...I have no problem with the faction zones being safer, it only makes sense |

yeah in the abyss there will be ganking and in faction zoens there will be some, but i didnt mean 100% no ganking i meant less ganking because of the rifts and stuff.

Killing low levels player doesn't make you better player. It's just plain stupid and get know of the bad reputation of the Pking. ^^ |

Originally posted by SweBlackbird QFT, but the problem is with Aion you can swap stats from higher lvl gear onto lower lvl gear. So you may think the person is lower than you but he might be higher because of this. Best to kill any of the other faction that you see and ask questions later, just to be safe. Was thinking of doing that myself actually, adds a great deal of risk to pvp, especially ganking and means you have to think more about who you attack. However, there is the problem that if the player level is displayed it will give you away. ------------------------------

From what i know enemy lvl is not displayed wich is good , you will always wonder if the enemy in front of you is higher or lower or same,so you will think twice before atacking or runing away. |

I'm glad that they have added RvR element into "safe" zones, reminds me of RFO more, which is good. Oh and you have no idea how many of these "RFO children" will be playing Aion. Be ready for Abyss portal camping, mass rift raids, huge siege battles oh and ofc. race drama (lots of it). This game will be so much fun, I can't wait! Cheers. |

PvP points depends on you kill an enemy with low or higher lvl.(high enemy rank=more points obviously)

That is farking awesome! The worst part of ganking was always not that you got camped for 18 years (that happens) it was that people could just get killed, wait around until their killers went away, and then go back to griefing. I will be SO MUCH happier about ganking if I know that my tormenter will eventually be murdered, and then be unable to bother me. Also, I know I will be running to defense of my lower-level bretheren, since me killing a ganker will actually protect them. Amazing, amazing system.
God, I want to be playing this game. In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. -Thomas Jefferson |
