unlike the likes of age of conan and vanguard which do have something to hide . warhammer is actually a very good product . i wont make comparissons to other mmos but it certainly holds its own against the best of them . its a lot of fun and has a lot of nice touches in it and i m sure it will improve even more over time .

but lets face it . a lot of peopel are wary having been burnt by other products in the past . or maybe they have a system them arnt sure if it ll work on .

what warhammer needs is a free trial and soon  . it would certainly gain a lot of new subscribers when people see how much it has to offer for themselves . unfortunatly i guess it would also mean gold sellers but it would be worth it to see the game become more popular after all you can ignore gold sellers cant you .

no not yet . usually it takes several months to get a free trial up and running for an mmo . the problem is a lot of people are used to demos and mmos are the one genre of game that traditionally dont offer such a thing from the word go . sometimes for good reason . in the first months an mmo can be so problematic the product would be harmed in terms of units sold because of a trial . this is nt always the case though . while warhammer does need some polishing the game is strong enough to warrent one now . in fact it with other mmo expansions coming out soon . i think it would be a huge mistake on thier part to leave it till early in the new year .

I agree like the title says -  A solid game. Sadly, its a bad MMO.

It almost as good as AoC and worse than WoW and gets about as stale as LOTR. It would be a good game if it was offered for free.

its quite odd what people would describe as a good mmo . i mean has there really been one we could all agree was great . lets face it warcraft by its sheer number of subscirbers means it got more right than it got wrong but is it good ?

well personally i think its a good game but in some  ways i would like to see an rpg with a slightly more serious side but with the fun factor some of the more serious rpgs lack .

i think what warhammer fall short on is its world enviroment to some degree . given much of the game is aimed at pvp it means it the feel of a vibrant world community at least at the early stages is a little bleak . but the pvp side is a lot of fun .

its quite difficult at this point to say what the longevity of warhammer would be like compared to games such as warcraft . you can really only say its a bad mmo after playing if for a couple of months at least or if its got as many problems as say vanguard or age of conan had on release . its far too early to make such a sweeping statement and really casts some validity on it .

such views in these forums are the real reason that warhammer need a free trial . to be honest i was nt sure when i started playing it but the more i m seeing of it the more i m thinking ....ok maybe this is nt another warcraft and theres things that needs to be improved but it has that additction factor and if your someone that likes pvp this could really have something to offer . maybe more so than wow .

at the end of the day theres not really any reason to have to chose one mmo over another . i now have three i like wow war and lotro . given theres usually a two year wait between expansions theres really no reason stay in one game when the boredom sets in .

personally i think warhammer will be like lotro  a game i play maybe for a month or two at a time . warcraft will proberbly ( not definatly though )  be the game i spend most time in  . after all in my view at present ( with the possible exception of eve which is great just not my type of game ) theres very little out there worth playing and i ve tried most of them .

:P he d make a great greenskin lol .  theres very little to hate in this game . when there is i d be the first to say so in these forums . as for how the game plays unlike conan and vanguard (at the time of release) warhammer is a good solid game . maybe it wont appeal to everyone . it certainly would nt appeal if repedative pve instances are your thing . i like both myself but find that the pvp in wow somewhat underplayed .

thats why warhammer offers a good alternative and thats why there needs to be a free trial so people can see if for themselves then buy the game if its what appeals to them and my bet is that it will appeal to a lot of people .

It means that WAR would be a solid single player game, but fails on delievering a living virtual online world where players can play their alter ego (if desired). WAR fails as an MMO because: Small Zones with invisible walls surrounding you, forcing you to take set path. As a Warhammer enthusiast for 15+ years, I would, ungrudgingly, go as far as calling this a blasphemy. It doesn't matter what kind of MMO it is, PvE or PvP, the first and foremost important thing the creators need to do in a MMO, is to make a living world where you can place your content in - WAR fails horribly here, alongside AoC.

This is my short version of why I think WAR is a bad MMO, and why I can already call this a failure MMO - the foundation of which the game is build on is all wrong (for me).

Call me a troll all you like, it matters not. The word troll has lost all meaning ...

No I was not trying to insult you. You don't have to change it at all. I was just thinking if you know how to sentence structure and capitalize beginning  of sentences and know "LOL" is not a sentence then you should just do it. Easier to read by a great amount. However you post in forums is fine but watch what you say please.

Unless someone is a no-good dirty troll then I say BURN!

Hmm..I didnt think a MMO community would have any problems understanding this sentence, and the difference between a normal PC game and a MMO game. I guess I overestimated the community. My apologies

No, it just shows you don't know how to properly write. Doesn't matter the medium.

But back on topic, WAR does not need a free trial just yet, give it at least 6 months before going down that road.

I call it a really amazing game that is finished and growing. You call it a bad mmo. See the difference between us?

 Hehe. Yes I do

There is no way behind the mountains im talking about, because there is no scripted world there...By that theory I could climbed over the Norscan mountains, run to the southern shores, dived into the sea of claws, hoped to survive the swim over to the shores of Marienburg and then raided some defenseless villages like a real norseman! Sadly, I cant :\

I agree with Kyleran. Give the free trial some time to come out because it doesn't need to happen immediatly. It will show the game has plenty of value going for it.

no thanks if you are too poor to play you will be a pants player and we like our current fanbase of largely mature players.  If you are too noncommital to be able to make your mind up to psend some $ we would hate to have your mixed up self trying to make quick decisons in team play orientated sieges / pve where quick thinking and reactions are important.

gold is not an issue in WAR.  There is nothing to spend it on and unles you are a complete and utter numpty youll have plenty of gold to get a mount at level 20 and the bits of extra gear you might want, pots and crafting mats, siege equipment.

You won't see Trials this early unless the developers are super confident with there product , only MMO in the near future released with a trial is TCOS which I am looking forward to trialing ..

actually its not properly write , its write properly . if we are going to concentrate of the correct use of the english language .

no all it shows is i m really not overly botherd to impress people such as yourself .  a number of proffessional authors dont have a great command of punctuation or spelling .also i m sure you find like myself some of the have mild dyslexia as well .

for all my faults i dont come onto these forums and look to put people down . then again i m not the type of person that needs to do that to feel superior to others . its actually a bit immature and pedantic to do as such .

most normal people would actually concentrate on the the topic and not the diction .

perhaps you could explain why you think it should be left six months ? you make a flat statement and dont explain why you are of that opinion . i mean i may agree with you if you put forward a good enough argument . as it stands it just seams your rather self opinionated and more than a little arrogant . neither are qualitys to be admired .

I really want to play this game but a trial would be wonderful.

Even a 2 day trail would be perfect just so I can see if I can run the game and if I even like it.

i think your right to be honest . but i dont think they have to worry too much . perhaps they are erring on the side of caution in case any major issues come up in the first few months . personally i think they should break with tradition in this case and show confidence in what appears to be a pretty decent product . i think it would pay dividends .
