First of all, I wery like game idea describet in overview. So question - is DF planned on one not splitted world? Or this will be many splitted servers where you need to pay for transfer your char to other server for playing with friends?

Servers will most probably be regional to reduce lag since low ping would be cruical in a full-loot game with twitch combat.

its very possible that there will be only one server(cluster) per region - maybe two.

because each server(cluster) can hold something like 50k players with 10k-20k online at the same time.

So i dont think we will experience the problem with having to move chars to play with friends.

Their goal is to have one world but their priority is to provide a fun game where large battles can occur.

If the one world server can't handle the load they will shard.

its simply wrong. they will have at least one server per region, most likely at least 2.

the reason i think this is because their one-char per server policy. I think they want to offer people to play at least 2 chars in the region they are in.

IMHO many online games loose there priority over single player games if you cann`t play together or again players all over world, say meet german folks, korean, canadian, this could be one of priority in ONLINE game. I always wonder why not many so called "massive" online games offer real communication freedom.

DF is a european game.

Finally we Europeans get something before the Americans.

i am pretty sure there will be no char transfer to other servers.

They planning on opening a few servers in europe and 1 character per server.

And they prolly give people a chance when US get also servers to transfer it to but maybe not becouse of disadvantage of new players there.

Or you ment is AGON one big seamingless world, yes no instance at at all.

But im guessing if 100k or more people wanne play darkfall they will 100% sure make more servers for europe.

For now its only europe.

And they will not split up a server for when big group raid on a server lol:P
