Okay, my first MMORPG was DAoC and it was also my favorite MMORPG, even after playing WAR. I played it from 2001-2005 before starting SWG. I've played every game on the market that you can pay for practically, and I know what I like.

To this day, the only three games on the market that sucked me in past the first free month is DAOC, SWG, and WAR. Character advancement is why I play games and the developers need to make me want to advance and make advancing fun.

I still play WAR and will resub, because WAR makes advancing fun and makes me want to see what armor and abilities I will get on up to Rank 40 RR 80.

There are many flaws that I've seen in WAR, many that are out right annoying. However, I am pleased that I am seeing weekly patches that solve some of these problems. I've played games, such as WoW that posted their bug fixes, but they had no bearing on the problems I had with the game. It's refreshing to see a dev team listen to the players and fix what we're asking for.

With that said, the rose colored glasses are off. I will only kee resubbing as long as the content is fresh, I am not bored with the classes, and RvR remains fun and rewarding. The second it isn't anymore or something better comes along, I will end my subscription. Simple as that.

This game has a lot of potential and judging from the way they developed DAoC, I have faith and proof that WAR will develop into a game that I will love more than I already do now. More races, classes, content, and areas to explore are a guarantee based off of what they did with DAoC.

I just though I'd write my opinion here and give you all the perspective of a person who no longer is wearing those glasses and sees WAR for what it is.

MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW

WAR is an ok game. It's very casual and fun just to play an hour or two when I'm bored. It's not a really addictive game and the RvR is very casual too. There's no real advatage to owning a keep as the PQ stuff is generally better than any of the reknown gear. It's very much like an fps to me, I can go a few days without playing and not feel like I have to 'catch up'.

You have not lived until you''ve found something worth dying for.

I think you need bifoculs or something WAR is just as rosey as always to me and hundreds of thousands more.  Glad you can see past your faultering spectacles and are enjoying the game at present.

Wait until your guild can own a keep and get the buffs from it.  Then you can also enjoy the 200gold a day to hold a tier 4 keep.

MMORPG Character Monuments

...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest...

IN the end, WAR is solid.

We have seen recent released that fail to deliver (LOTRO, AoC). WAR delivers. Perhaps not as much as the pre-release hype suggested, but it gives a solid fun time. It is not hard to imagine this game being huge fun a few months down the road.

You can either agree with me or be wrong!

UO VET

I got WAR on friday, didn't read anything about it, didn't know what warhammer was all about, etc.. I also have played every major MMO since the realm. With that being said, I am LOVING WAR. There is absolutely never a dull moment and everything you do has some sort of reward, even if it is 1RP. Also, the LORE in the game is off the hook and I feel guilty when I rush through quest text.

I think WAR will sustain me for a long time, I loved DAOC as well.

I'm loving it, as long as there are lots of players the game will stay awesome so keep those subs!

PLAY ULTIMA ONLINE!

Well because it doesn't have 10millions subs.  Anything less than that is a failure. . .

Without being smarmy...

Just how far along into game have you played? T2, T3? T4?

There are some of us whom have been involved since early in closed beta and...whilst there are issues out there (some of which keep rearing their ugly heads), those are far fewer and in between than, say, AoC (which, to be frank, I loved but it was way too buggy, laggy, and PVP was sub-par).

Keeps? There are a real benefit. What I see often in game are people rushing their way to 30 or 40 via PQs/PVE, and totally bypassing the renown (RVR) system. THIS in the end will hurt drastically, because once that threshold is crossed into T4, all gloves are off, and they will be lacking skills/points/tactics that would be a benefit to a team, instead of a pointless (literally) hinderance.

There are some scenarios to me that are frustrating: T2 would be PG (too much of a turtlefest); T3 would be Doomfist crater (mostly because people just don't know how to properly play it and capture/take that centre). Being into T4 myself , I haven't really experienced quite as much on live as I did during CB, since I'm now on a Tome Unlock fest (for a break), but I do pop in for the occasional scenario, or work on my alts. Most of the T4 scenarios have changed drastically since beta, so I'm still unsure of this one.

RVR - and the enjoyment factor - will depend on whom you're grouped with at the time. Make a note of those player names that are competent/incompetent, and put them on your will/won't group with list. Scenarios are a crapshoot in this matter, unless you manage to get lucky and get a guild group or 2 in at the same time.

Targeting - definitely an issue, one which puts my panties in a bunch when I'm trying to hit that nearest target AM or Zealot (depending on what character I am playing).

Someone pointed out earlier T4 and keep owning. The rewards from that are *truly* priceless, and will make holding that keep (and taking others) all the more fun.
