since '99.  Never once, have I ever went to a message board of a game I didnt like and try to bash it.  For those that do, it is obvious you have an agenda.  Most likely you have friends who left your side in the game you currently play for WAR.  Either way, it is comical how you come here and show us all that you have nothing better to do with your time.  I dont know about anyone else, but I would rather be playing a game I did like or frequenting said games boards then going to the site of a game I hated.  You feel threatened by the popularity of WAR -- we get it and we dont care.

Agreed, funny thing is a lot of these people that star posting in response to comments like that have made the same ones in their own forums countless times and have gotten pissed off when they get flammed. Opinions go both ways, you can't expect to bash someone for having theirs without getting bashed themselves.

...or, it could be that these are forums for discussion and expression, whether it be good or bad from your point of view.

I for one like to hear both the positive and negative reactions from the gaming community.  "Everything is good, move along" is not the truth, nor something I want to hear all the time.

That's true too. But as long as it's constructive criticism. I've seen more than my fare share of posts where people have said outright lies but refuse to see the flaws in the game they are trying to promote. Either that or they use experiances from months ago, before numorous patchs to base their experiance off of and continue to post that information instead of finding out if anything has actually changed or not.

I would think the general forums would be more appropriate for that.  This should be a discussion place for fans of the game.  I understand the point you are trying to make -- but again me, personally, I dont have time or desire to go to the forums of games I dont play or like to bash them endlessly.  But hey, people are free to post here and so am I -- and I have my opinion of why they are here.

Yet you come here bashing PEOPLE. But its not a "agenda" with you. No I bet it comes from your heart.

Well if someone asks "what do you think of Warhammer" dont you think people that have played it should give their opinions?? I mean if everyone just says "this is the greatest game ever" and people come here wondering if they might like Warhammer then they arent getting a totally accurate picture....... If a player says I like this, this, and this but not that, that, or that then it is more helpful.........Some players have an agenda msot likely but I would imagine in general that players try to offer their views and experiences......We dont all see the world the same way.

true and thats fine...to a point.  But some people who supposedly hate the game are here non-stop.  Also, I dont believe for a second that all the people who come here talking trash have even played the game.  It is in a way, comical in a pathetic sort of way.  But again, the fact people feel threatened by the games initial success says something.

The pathetic part is that you can't accept that not everyone shares your obvious fanboy opinions.

I don't believe for a second that ANYONE in the Darkfall forums have played the game at all. But should they still be allowed to post? Of course they should! Talking trash/praise isn't always about what you've experienced, but I doubt you will understand that there still can be healthy discussions with views from both sides.

I could say the exact same thing about the people that come here to proclaim how great the game is. Why are they here instead of playing the game?

I find it incredibly funny that you think these forums are for fans of the game, and nothing bad should be said about them. Very funny. Truth be told, the majority of the people posting on these forums are going to have negative things to say about the game, because if they didn't have something bad to say(with a few exceptions), they would be playing the game.

But in the end, this isn't a fansite. This is a site to discuss your opinions about different games, whether you like them or not. People that like the game post here with an "agenda" to convince other people the game is good, just like people who don't like the game post with the "agenda" to convince people the game is bad. Both sides have an agenda, but unfortunately, your way of thinking is that if they don't think like you, they are wrong and "pathetic".

Netspook: Dont use double negatives like that, you sound like an ork.

Abraham: That makes no sense. Your arguing for the sake of arguing.

Well I hate watching birds so Im going to go crash a bird wachers disscusion group. My life is sooooo meaningful no wonder I gets da girls.

No one cares about someone elses opinion unless the opinion agrees with them.

Thats why people are called trolls and flamers. Who state opinions for the sole purpose of an arguement.  Dont know if youve ever been in a relationship before. But arguing isnt the same as discussing.

Talking to someone about a common interest leads to good dicussions.  As someone earlier pointed out going to the general discussion and hating on a  game. Where the main interest is mmorpgs in general is perfectly fine.

While spending your time in a selective forum dedicated to a particular interest to put down said interest is just a lil loserish.

Do you understand now.  I know its very complex. Wooooow It so very hard. It hurt me brain.

Yea but if everybody did that, there would be a lot less discussion about said game.

I personally enjoy people bashing the game as much as I enjoy people praising the game.  If I feel inclined to respond to the discussion or state my opinion, then atleast I have more opportunities to do it if both the haters and the fanboys are posting (not that everybody falls in that category).

Personally, I only find myself motivated to click on the games from the list over on the left that I own and I am playing.  So I kind of see what the OP is saying.

If I'm not playing a game, then I really don't care about it too much.  Unless it's a game I left and I'm checking up on it from time to time to see what kind of changes have been made.

I look at it more from a psychological motivation standpoint.  It's sort of a curious behavior to me.  I have to keep sorting through the titles that read "This Game Sucks" or something similar and I find it sort of just weird that people do it.  I'm okay with their freedom to do it, but I still find it strange.  Like I said, my motivation is to click on the games I'm actually playing.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. I bought WAR, imported the US verison which resulted in me paying around 100$ for it. I didn't like the whole headstart system but I could've cared less, I happily made a dwarf ironbreaker and found myself to be enjoying the game. The game ran like shit on my system which can run Hellgate London on high settings without glitches, heck it even does a good job at Crysis. However, at maximum framerate settings it ran "ok", that being said it doesn't even look very good on a system that can run it well. I didn't mind though, because I was having decent fun.

Then I realised that the grind to 40 was basically one long bg-grind to 40 and after that it'd most likely just be poor poorly designed BG's, the world PvP seemed dead and the Warhammer lore was just raped entirely (as expected). I'm sorry, I don't mind grinds (heck I played EQ to 70) but I've done AV in WoW once already and AV was much more fun, mind you.

The game quickly got booring, I uninstalled and cancelled my sub. I want my money back but noo..

So this is a warning, if you want a game where the PvP is fun and you don't have to grind the same shit over and over again, then don't play WAR. At least the shit you had to grind in WoW had shiny colors.

FUCK WAR.

You have to ask yourself. Would you rather people express their displeasure here on the forums or on the game?

Unlike the game, you can choose whether or not you wish to read a thread. Once you read something someone says in the game you can't "Un-read" it.

Let people express how they feel about the game. As long as people do it in an orderly way, I don't see any problem with it.

People want to feel like they belong somewhere. Instead of exploding in the face of someone who is upset with the game, try helping them overcome the faults. Many people may be more inclined to stay with the game if they can find friends within a community. People here on MMORPG tend to take sides. Those for the game and those against the game. Every now and again you have radical thinkers that attempt to throw this balance out of whack.

If you truly care about the game you can relate to all sides. After all, if you continue to scare people away, what hope is there for the future of the game? Mythic may make the game, but the players are what pay their pay check!
