If this game is really as good and complete as they say it is then why does it look like they do their very best to hide it from everyone as much as possible?

Why don't they let all the gaming sites and editors into the game right now to play test and write their reviews?? If the game is as good as they say than what do they have to hide??  

It would only help not hurt...

Yeah, all the AoC reviews were 100% truth. I made sure about it while i played their completely free open beta.

Guildwars 2 will be great and we havn't heard so much about it... In that case Arenanet don't really feel they need to advertise and want to avoid the hype.

In DFs case? Who can tell, but it might really be smarter to keep a low profile and start advertising  a few weeks before release. It might off course have serious issues, who knows?

But really this is just speculations and as much useful as the fan thread "this will be the greatest game ever" or Wow killer. We should at least wait until the beta is in progress to think much more of this game.

It is ok to expect some things from companies that you have loved a few games they made, like Bioware or something. Or if you loved Diablo and Warcraft 3, you would be intrested in GW2 since the programming team is the same as WC3 and half of it from Diablo. Then you at least have an idea, in this case the only thing I ever heard of adventurine is that one of them worked on Enron. While that doesnt impressed me I still have no clue how good programmers or other devs they have. Unless you played a game some of them made you are just guessing too.

And since the beta isn't open yet, I doubt that anyone here knows anything on how the game will deliver (unless you work on it) so let's have this discussion closer to launch. I hope the game will be great off course but I do have that hope about most games.+

They don't hide it.  They just don't whore it out to the mass media like the games who've obviously scarred you with poor launches in the past have.   Get used to something new.

Hide means that you're actively avoid to show it.

What they do, is not hiding, it's just not showing off.

There not hiding it very good. I mean hiding it would be the oposite of showing it the 16th durring Athens Digital week right? But hey you have yet to make any non troll posts backed by any sort of facts so I guess this is to be expected. Anyways if you want to see the game TenSpotting go to Athens Digital Week, or wait for the reviews from those that do go.

I don't recall flamming anyone that has shown any sign of common sense with negative or positive remarks, however I do remember flamming those that troll or show utter lack of intellect.

most anticipated mmorpg, logo on frontpage, yeah well hidden.

It used to be that a big part of playin a mmorpg was discovering and learning  the game.Thats what made it what it is, you needed to learn,explore,try different things more importantly you needed the community to help eachother and figure the processes out then the guides would start to hit the net.Now with all the whiny, spoiled, feed it to me on a spoon people that has come about, when a company tries to get back to what it was everyone thinks they are hiding something. Its sad

I dont know alot of details about the game,I know what is at its base and its something i like so i will give it a shot and try to support a company willing to take a risk instead of rehashing the same simple thing

not so much hidden its just this game has been in development since before WoW. Its failed to get into beta multiple times. And how the game is built at most it will get a cult following like eve.

At this time, this game has the ability to be all things, to all people... because there is so little actually known about it.

Normally, I would say that this is a bad thing... but based on the history of this game, and the timing for its realease.... it is actually a good thing. This game is going to make a spash on its release, despite the lack of promotion, despite the small company developing it, despite the first time producer...

We can all aurgue that mistakes may have been made in the promotion of this game, but what this game has going for it right now is mystery, and innuendo. To give those up (when others would pay millions for this) at this time seems silly.

Good or bad, this game will get attention at its lauch. With dozens of other games coming out, at this point, any attention is good attention.
