HAHA! relax everyone knows reviews on MMOs are totally worthless. I'm sure that reviewer has time to level to a decent level before he reviews How can anyone give a MMO a true rating if they dont actually experience all the aspects of the game? Anyway I'm not saying WAR is a bad game, I'm just saying these reviews don't hold much weight. Do you think someone who levels to 10 is qualified to review a game were the cap is 40 and endgame is a game onto it self? yeah i thought so.

IGN gives is 9, 1UP says its a B (8), other sites give it a perfect score 10/10. To its credit, not one site I could find gave it less than an 8, which is a pretty good trend indicator, though I think no newly released MMO should be rated higer than an 8, but that's just me.

I had to stop reading that review after he said this game is very social, and the world so well designed that the population is never spread out. I'm on a high pop server, Ive been on 3 like it. Theres 2 hour queues to get in the game, yet when you are actually in it, there is no one around. The game is barren and it is specifically because the world is designed with large numbers in mind but the servers obviously dont support the numbers of people needed for the amount of zones provided. As for the social part of the game lol This is deffinatly the most anti social game out there. You can do everything solo, there is no reason to group. Noone talks. The community and the game on the whole because it does not encourage it by its game design, is anti social. I agree with the first part of the review this game does have a lot to do, however all of it seems unfinished and needs work, especially the combat. I dont think this guy played the game for very long to be honest, either that or reviewers have given up trying to hide they have been influenced by advertisers. I think the Gamespot review is more honest about what to expect in the game, although the score does not match up with what is said in their review. |

Have you come up with something new yet POOPY? your starting to sound like a broken record. For as many times Ive died with my Witch Hunter in WAR if they had death penalties Id ether have no money or Id lose more exp in PvP than gain. And its not that I suck, I don't care how skilled you are when your a light armor wearer and do melee when you get mobbed by a some tanks your not going to last to long. Same way if I follow people into battle they won't target the tanks on my side first, they will take me out because I do a lot of dmg but yet Im easy to take out if everyone focuses on me.
War may not have any risk, but It does take tactics to defend and take keeps. I spent 4or5 hours last night defending and taking keeps untill we had owned all of T2. We had scouts on the look out giving the warband info. Needless to say It was the best experience Ive had in an MMO, this game is just damn fun to me and thats all there is to it. |

I have met quite a few decent people in the game, and been part of some fun groups. But having to join a guild to even see some people talking, or to get PQ, RvR, etc going seems to be a very big flaw in the design of the game. It is strange that noone outside of a guild talks, noone really groups outside of their friends, or stays grouped for particually long. And I think that is soley down to the game design. Especially being on a high population server and seeing PQ, and RvR zones being completly empty, with no chat which does make it feel like I am playing a single player game. Public quests are not so much a problem (Its pve at the end of day who cares ;p), but I brought this game for RvR and there is very little, I also expected at a bare minimum for some kind of chat going on. I will still wait and see, like I said this game seems unfinished but it deffinatly has a solid basis to build on and they are trying to improve the game quickly it seems, and with changes that are being requested, I will stay playing the game for that reason alone. Just right now I do not see this game as a 9.0 game or anywhere above 6 atm. I think that if the game was designed well as an mmo, then it should naturally have people talking constantly outside of guilds/small groups. And there should be at least small numbers of people running around in the same general areas, especially on a full server. I have never encountered an mmo where it is anything like this, even AoC with tons of instancing had more people running around, and felt more alive (which is worrying) than War does at the moment. edit: this is a response for both people that quoted me, funny enough you both have said the same thing. Get a decent guild, which is all well and good, but you should not have to do that in any mmo to get people talking, or interacting with others, especially one that by its designed should have people constantly fighting, and interacting with one another, even if that interaction is to say 'shit I got ganked plz help' |

Way too many design flaws to be considered -almost the perfect- game. Many ideas thrown in indeed, but some of them slap the others. I foresaw that scenarios were going to kill world RvR, I also knew that the lack of penalties added to ephemeral rewards instead of consistent ones makes people not to care about who has keeps. The quests are far from being perfect, the pve isn't challenging at all and the reaction/rubberbanding effects make it look bad. That's far from the 9 IGN gives. Graphics are also far from being perfect, have you seen the facial textures closeups? looks like they are made for cellphones, some elements like flags, trees, etc are jaggered and totally inmersion breaking. The music enviroment isn't a 9 neither. I think nobody would dare to deny this. What Im enjoying is the team work and seeing how a well rounded party of my guildies change the fate of scenarios, that's something that deserves a 9 imho, so does the character learning curve, I see as I keep on improving and beating myself, but that's only a part of the game. I've never looked at IGN to get MMO fed anyways. I'm R32/RR31 before anyone asks. |

yet they game diablo 2 , score of 8. if i recall. thats how much i trust them. at that time. that game had noone even close to it.. 9.0 for war is way overhead.. |

Just because IGN or any site/magazine gives a game a rating, it doesn't make it "official". If you like the game, great. If you don't, that's fine too. Play the games you like and don't begrudge others for liking different games. The fanboys and anti-fanboys both have to go. |

Just eyeballing the first dozen or so reviews on that site for AoC, gets around 85%, overall still sitting at 81%. Reviews don't mean much for me. |
