 Well according to Mark it's not quite clear yet if it's the fastest. As you state in your quote it could be "only" the second-fastest selling p2p MMO. Of course that's still amazing by any standards.

It might be the third fastest in the Western markets. It's not second, or first in the world.  WoW has expansions with more first day sales than War has sold total. War is doing very well though he should be proud.

     I dont know why anyone should be surprised by this they had over a million people apply for beta so obviously there was alot of interest.....Also I am more interested in the state of the game in 6 months to a year not at release....When all the bells and whistles have worn off will people still be playing?

LOL they even told you war has good graphics and it runs smooth and it has good gameplay and so on!

if they would tell you war  has sold 5mil copies u would believe that! USE YOUR BRAIN! say what u want. but the winners are always those that wont sell theyre soul for money if u get what i mean. but all in one, its just my opinion over the wide mass on buyers.

Age of Conan for the west oddly enough.  Worldwide the hands down winner is lineage 1 & 2 based mostly on sales in South East Asia but you won't see Western companies admitting those numbers.

Age of Conan for the west oddly enough.  Worldwide the hands down winner is lineage 1 & 2 based mostly on sales in South East Asia but you won't see Western companies admitting those numbers.

but but.. if you discount WOW, and AOC, and Lineage 1 and 2 and anyone from Europe.. or anyone from Asia....  then.. isn't warhammer the fastest??

Yes it's damn fast. They're doing very well and I expect they'll continue to do so. Unlike some games that burned out like a defective light bulb in a week or two I expect War's numbers to contine to go up.

If your going by western markets and game launches, not expansions. Then it sums up to:

1. Age of Conan

2. Warhammer

3. World of Warcraft(although this could be wrong as I couldn't find any numbers on games like Tabula Rasa or POTBS).

And before anyone says anything, even crappy games sell fast. So this is not an indication if the game is good. Only that it has received alot of hype. And that hype has turned over to people purchasing the game at launch to see what the hype is about. Better indicators are after the first free month is up and people re-sub.

And I'm pretty sure at this point AoC is beating WAR as the #1 most sold MMO in it's first month. It really doesn't mean anything to begin with, though. Don't see why this matters, I know for sure that WAR is beating AoC in content, polish, and fun at this point. Since when do people judge a game by how well the media is taking it...

No need to rig, I doubt WoW broke that in the first day since well, the sub base was 10x smaller when WoW was released. That's also why it isn't a particularly impressive record since it's one of the few MMO's that has been released into this newly massive subscriber base.

The expansion however massively outsold anything WAR/AOC is putting up at the moment although people will discount that since it's an expansion.
