According to Jehovah's Witnesses, you are on the right track. We believe that God and Jesus are 2 different people. God created the universe, the Earth, Adam and Eve, AND Jesus. We believe that God is the Father of Jesus, Jesus is (of course) his son, and the Holy Spirit is the active force of God. Therefore, we do not believe in the Trinity, because obviously, we don't believe that God and Jesus are the same person.

Mark 10:18 - And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Why would he say that about himself? Maybe because he is and god are different people.

Well going from the Gurus teachings and Hinduism , it makes the most sense that this earth is a piece of art or more so an on going movie. It  has all the layers of expressions that make a piece of artwork complete : disgust , beauty , hate , love , happiness , sadness , health , disease. Basically it is full of dualities , why can't we just have all the good things? Well then I suppose this on going cosmic movie/art of God wouldn't be as interesting. It makes sense to me that it is nothing from than a drama , a play or a movie as the Gurus would say. If we really were hear to learn some great lesson , couldn't it be taught in a more...positive and better way? Why don't we live on the earth forever? Why arn't we immortal? Well obviously man wasn't created to live on such a place of duality for eternity.

In one of the scriptures is says that God is infinite so how can he exist in a place of such finiteness. But then why are we finite? what was the point of making us suffer through this finite , stressful and negative world just so God could have a on going drama to entertain himself with? And what are we rewarded with for having to participate for a good hundred years without our own will , so we didn't will ourselves to be created on this earth why should we be trapped here? And yet the only way out is through this very painful process called death. How is it fair? Simply put , it isn't. If heaven does exist and it is eternal and is eternal love , peace and joy then that would be a fair reward but the question is why arn't we already there? Why are we here in this body of gross matter as a slave of the sense objects? Do we really reincarnate?

Well it wasnt God.You see it was man who wanted a king to rule over them and to guide them..They more or less rejected God..Please read 1Samuel 8:4-22  Man got what they wanted..But still, God knows what the futures holds and still in controls in what needs tobe done.Even though Man has turn there backs on him.

 I'm sorry i am not a Jehovah Witnesses..I don't believe in what Christianity teaches.I am NOT a Muslim either.My home is Jerusalem.

I just want to tell what i think about this.

1. I don't believe in God nor Satan.

2. I believe in myself and gaming.

3. I support the Big Bang theory and i'm sure it will happen again expanding the Universe even more.

4. I believe we started from the smallest to what lives on Earth as we know it today when it was actually possible for lifeforms to appear.

5. I'm sure most places as we see them today has been shaped by ice ages.

6. I think someone gave people something to believe  but saying they will go to hell or be punished in some way is a bit too much.

7. I also believe that the Dinosaurs was wiped out by a Meteor and suddenly made it hard to find something to eat.

8. If anything existed before the Big Bang i'll be guessing it must have just been stars.

9. Because the Universe is so big humans can't travel everywhere before the technology allows us to. and when that is possible what will we discover?

well, we are created out of love.. so we have the freedom to do anything we want basically.. but our true purpose would be to return to our Creator, God.. In order to do so, we have to prove ourselves worthy of being accepted back to his kingdom.. although this depends whether we choose it or not. we have the choice not to believe in God, do drugs, commit adultery etc. or choose the right path.. I'm not being prophetic or anything, just pointing out that anyone can freely choose which path to take and what to believe in or not.. amen!

Wow... This is such a deep question.

I think God made it because He wanted to have a place where all His creations could live together in harmony. And, since He didn't exactly want to 'control' whatever He created, He let them do whatever they want to do. God basically gave everything on earth just one important thing - existence. It is the responsibility of each and everyone of us here (living or not) to 'decide' what to do with it. The plants decided to become independent and become helpful to all other living things. Insects helped the plants in their propagation. Animals were a bit selfish and began feeding the plants but was considerate enough to eat more than the plant could give. We humans were the most selfish even if we are supposedly the most gifted - we used up all the resources the world and its creatures can offer and tried to claim it as our own. God sees what we do but is constantly hoping we'll change our ways and do better. I think more and more people are realizing this but there are still a lot who still needs to be guided.

God created earth so that we can all live in harmony. But it is also our responsibility to protect and preserve it so that it will keep on serving its purpose.

I don't know , I don't lean towards christianty that much ( not saying it's a bad religion or anything ) , some of the teachings are positive but Hinduism seems to make more sense to me. But do you really think we would turn our backs on God? To be in his presence is the most wonderful thing in the universe.

I guess really we will never know his intention of why he created this earth and when we do die and are in his presence we most likely wont even want to know about such things.

I don't believe in hell, as in, when you die, you will spend eternal life in hell being tortured and stuff. NOR do I believe in a heaven, as in, when you die, you will float up into the sky and be in the kingdom of God. I believe that when we die, we will be ressurected here on Earth. Yes, EARTH. And we will re-build the Earth to make it a paradise. (That is, after the Armaggedon)

Not so sure about the meteor. I think that a giant volcano (i.e. Yellowstone) blew up, threw sulfur and toxic waste into the air, suffocated land and air animals, bla, bla, bla. But I'm not arguing about that, because, who knows, it could have been a meteor.

Ah yes, about the big bang. If you look on my profile, you can look at the few threads I have made.  One of these threads is a theory that I sort of thought up of which actually combines the thought of God and the Big Bang together. If you would like to look into it, you may, but please no one post on it, for it is an old thread and I don't want to bring back old threads.

The Bible has all those questions answered. Again, if you check your inbox, we can chat about such topics.

Also, Hinduism doesn't make sense when you really look at it. Jesus is one of the gods that you worship in that religion, however, Jesus says there is only ONE God and that ONE God CANNOT lie, so either Jesus is not God (which Hinduism says He is), or Hinduism is wrong, which I believe it is.

You can believe in God and the Big Bang if you want.

Scientific theory conflicts with religion not the belief in God. God is whatever YOU want it to be. Religion simply institutionalizes someones opinion on the matter.

To answer the OP -

What is the "purpose" of the Earth? It is a planet that exist along with many many others in the universe. What is the purpose of any planet? It is all part of a design and unknown to us.

Why did God create it? Why did God create anything at all? It is beyond knowing. God created the cosmos, we are just a very small part of that design on the fringe of one of an unknown number of galaxies in a cosmos of infinate size and possibilities.

God's evil alter-ego, the demiurge created the physical world.  Everything in it is evil, brutish and temporal except our spirits that come from the original father of light.  Our purpose is to connect with the light again and deny materialism so at death we will ascend back to our original state.

Metaphysics is really easy, but physics isn't. More theists should try the latter in my opinion.

It depends on what you believe in I suppose... it could just all be a coincidence anyway. I don't believe that we'll know one way or another in this lifetime.

Till now i have found that only 2 things are infinite:
1) The Universe
2) Human Stupidity

The universe is not infinate.

He created the earth because he can. He created humans, because he can. He gave them freewill, because he can. Then humans decided to sin, because He gave them freewill. So now the purpose of the earth and all on it, is to await the second coming of His son, and for the believers to save as many as they can from eternal damnation.

First he said "religion" not Christianity.

Second, Christians may not currently be trying to kill one another overtly but that is far far from the truth of history. Persecution & prejudice between the different Christian groups has been a driving force for thousands of years.
