I don't go to the VN Board actually.  This is a repost from WHA, I gave credit to the OP as well.

A sample of how they lobbed out a few softball questions on some of the biggest complaints of the game:

"Question: Gate28 (gate28): Your new chat system is amazing, but it has a single drawback. Will we be able to share items though links in chat sometime in the future?

Answer: That is definitely a feature that we feel would be a positive addition to the game."

Two way communication between themselves and the Devs?  How would this be accomplished?  Official forums where the Devs almost never post like WoW?

No, it doesn't have to be like WoW.

WoW isn't the only MMO with an official forum.

I've seen some Mythic posts on unofficial forums, basically copy/pasting the same thing across 3 or 4 forums, why not post it on one forum and use their time reading one forum instead of looking at responses across those 3 or 4?

Durahell, are you serious? I wouldn't be surprised, war-alliance is incredibly stuck up.

Yes, if you read that, and then read down to the quote from the Dev QA, then think about why I might have said it...

But the problem with that is, what that was, was constructive criticism.  Non-constructive criticism would have been, "Your chat system sucks" with no follow-up or explanation.

Yes, I am aware of that.

In my previous post I said "Otherwise, you will keep hearing garbage like the last Dev Q&A chat."

meaning sometimes hearing a paying customer rip a system/product/whatever is not a bad thing when the public Dev/customer interaction so far sounds like "everything is perfect except one little thing I'd like to see" prefacing the "criticism."

Sure, an angry customer can vent for whatever reason on a fansite, but that doesn't offer immediate proof that he is a paying customer like an official forum would, and he could have doubts that it will ever be read by an "official" party. There are a few threads over on WHA support forums with hundreds of replies, tens of thousands of views with no official response addressing their problems. He could send a feedback and probably never get a human response, it just feels like one way communication into the suggestion bin. He might be willing to cut them a little more slack if he thinks they are actually reading what he wrote, whether it's constructive or not. These types of things help you keep customers.

*deleted bit about not having official forums*

The problem is that non-constructive criticism is (rightfully) ignored.  Not only by the developers but also by everyone else who has no time for moaning teenagers.  If you cant be mature and explain the reasons behind your dissatisfaction, then you do not deserve a response.

Im not really sure what your problem with the Dev Q&A is exactly, but if you think constructive criticism is being ignored/overlooked, then how do you think additional non-constructive criticism will make any difference?  Developers will always and have always portrayed themselves in the best possible light.  Don't expect that to change.

Some non-constructive criticism for you - you are wrong.  Did you find it helpful?

This might be the only thread in mmorpg dot com history that went on longer than one page without the word fanboy being mentioned.

So here, fanboy, fanboi etc...

Now it's bonafide.
