Don't get me wrong, when I play the RP I will heal all that I can during the scenario but my guildies get priority heal. one of the reasons for this is we have vent so he keeps me updated on his health and it works out great. I know about the party tab and use it. I just got out of a scenario where I was the only healer in Mortkain and we only lost 400-500 and I was going up against 3 shamans. There are a few people I won't heal because of bad mouthing, others I try to keep my Hot's up at all times and my chain heal constantly flowing. My comment earlier about not being protected is not a complaint, I mention it because once I'm attacked I cannot heal because my casts are interrupted and I die (where nobody gets healed).

I have played healing classes in MMO for about five year now; and I'm suprised that I very rarely get people complaining about not getting healed -just lucky I guess. Somebody had a go at me for stupid play the other day, basically I ended up having a one-one with my Priest and a Chosen. It was a good fight, right until the assist train ran over me :) Now tactically, the guy was right, fall back and protect the objective - however I was having fun. One of the things I love about this game is that you can be a healing class but you have other options and thing to do. I suspect that this game is going to liberate "career" healers from their narrow box of life bars to the greater MMO world. Expect less heals :) |

Are we entitled to heals? You damn bet we are. I've laid my characters in the direct line, physically blocking and slowing down enemy advancement to the healer. I've been tanking well with my IB 3-4 enemy players on him at a bottleneck, but on many occasions get no healing support. I've used my Shadow Warrior to snare / area root opposition trying to rush the healer, but get no healing support, and then they wonder why after I'm gone the enemy all the sudden catches up to them. GEE, I WONDER WHY... I've taken my Swordmaster to wail away at enemy casters / healers, and a heal or two would have ensured me to kill them and sow havoc in the rear, but get no support from healing. |

I have a zealot, which is a good grouphealer, which means that I can heal my whole group with a single spell when they are in range and I can heal them plenty. I never focus on just one player, unless (as in Tor Anroc), there is a need to. I ignore any demands for healing, if you are in my group, if you are close enough to me and I'm not dead, I'll heal you regardless. I only wish that in some groups there would be people that took care of protecting the healers, because I can't heal others when people directly attack me. And a dead healer is no healer. Groups where people take notice of these things are usually groups that win scenario's...

As a warrior priest, if I am the only healer I Heal everyone and end up with more then 65k healing. If there are archmages and runepriests in the team, I heal dps first. Ever since I saw a lvl 12 BW do 100k dmg because I healed him and kept him alive my priorities changed. Healing the smart BW is a big plus for the team. |

Just a little note: Other players cannot see your heals! Yes, that's true. My girlfriend and me play side by side. When I cast a heal on her the animation will not show up on her screen. The little green text floating around somewhere on the screen is not enough to get the proper attention during a battle. Why do you think so many players run away even if you heal them? Because they do not know that they're being healed. It has been posted on warhammeralliance.com many, many times. Yet Mythic seems to think it's a cool good idea

Priceless. You just agreed with the OP that heals should not be expected and then complained about someone else not doing their job to protect you. Yeah, people are not going to know how to do this or that, but if everyone just says screw it and does their own thing then the team falls apart. So, you can just tell the person off, or ignore them. . . OR you could help point them in the right direction. PUG are always going to be tough. Do you get in a group with your guild mates and not heal? I'm going to assume you DO HEAL because ITS YOUR JOB and YOU ARE PART OF A TEAM. Scenarios are the SAME THING minus everyone knowing their role.
My GF is new to the game and MMORPGs. Very simple instructions to her, stay back near the healer so they can keep you alive, kill anyone in range. If someone runs up to your healer, slow them, root them, or use the knockback, kill anything touching the healer. So... she not in your guild, a little slow to react (has problems clicking) and you're not going to heal her.
So the take home point for you mad elite healers running around with The Snob titles, teach those around you and the game becomes better for all. RvR is a TEAM sport. Refusing to be part of the team because someone else is not being a team player defeats the point of a TEAM sport. Oh, and just an example of how a few words can help you out. Dude keeps killing the quest mob. I know the quest only needs him killed once, so after the third time rather than tell him off ( I was bad mouthing him to my GF sitting next to me IRL ) I asked him why? He was trying to get it to drop the orders so he could inspect them. So I told him about the 3rd tab in the bag for quest items, and he felt like an idiot, thanked me and left.
Unbelieveable. You don't get what he was saying do you? The only people they are choosing to ignore are the idiots giving the healers grief. His point isn't that he WONT heal a tank/mdps for not getting the WE off his back. The point is that HE CAN'T!!! Again, his point isn't that he won't heal a BW for charging into the enemy. THe point is he cant. Thats ok. They can do stupid things if they want to. People have to learn the game. HOWEVER, if those same people turn around and say "why didnt you heal me, stupid healer do your job"... which im sure your GF doent do btw.. then of course they deserve to be ignored like the immature fools they are. |
