Everything gets boring eventually. Thats a fact of reality. What I am trying to point out is that RvR has the highest replayability of anything MMORPG's can offer. Note: I am NOT saying that RvR is ENDLESSLY replayable! Nothing can be. ..but then I notice you liked SWG before SOE cocked it up. So are you telling me that SWG (as it was) would never ever get boring? No, of course it would. Eventually. So the argument is really about HOW LONG before sieging gets boring, isn't it? So why do you think sieging will get boring quickly? Theres lots of variation and possibilities in PvP so I cant see people getting tired of it soon.
EDIT: Guy above me noticed you clocked 700 hours of WoW.. you've really lost credibility with that revelation. lol. |

It isn't to hard to level to max in most games in a few weeks. It all boils down to how entertaining and rewarding the journey is.
Some people define grind by the amount of experience awarded doing tasks in game [scenarios, quests, pvp, etc]. Others define it by the amount of time needed to reach a goal. You may not think leveling to max in 2 weeks is grinding, but for me that would be a total grindfest where gaining the most amount of experience per activity was more important than enjoying the game. I'm not looking down on your acheivement at all. In fact that is most likely what I will do when I get a character or two to max level.
I've played games were it tooks many months to reach end game and never felt like I was grinding. The reverse is true where I felt the entire game was a grind.
So far Warhammer is falling somewhere in between that. Quests in the world just do not offer enough reward for their time. At my current level I estimate it will take me somewhere around 35-50 PvE quests to reach a new level. If the quests were entertaining it wouldn't bother me, but they are pretty bland most of the time. I enjoy scenarios very much and they reward far more than questing, so win win for me here. Not much to comment on from public quests and world pvp as there isn't much going on in that department. |

Mythic prefers people to be afk in scenarios? Hahaha! Read the patchnotes for today. A player can no longer get xp and renown while in the loading zone. A player in a loading zone more than 2 minutes will be automaticly ejected form the scenario. Kinda blows your theory right out of the water huh.

Yeah I sorta chuckled at that one, too. "I had a fun experience in the game, therefor it is the best game, of any genre, period". Imagine if that were the industry-wide standard of a successful game? And you thought the music industry was rife with one-trick ponies? By the by, aside from the pouring of oil, Lineage 2 has had large scale sieges with siege weapons, archers on walls and sometimes 200+ players fighting it out on the battlefield for a few years now. I understand the excitement of doing it for the first time, but like others have said... After a while it becomes routine and the only real excitement is in the dynamics of the fight or, as in L2 where there are no pre-defined factions, the inter-clan/alliance politics surrounding castle sieges. To the OP, I'm sure you'll argue WAR still beats L2 hands down because, well.. you've pretty much already said it. That's subjective at best. Point is, it's not exactly anything new.

I'm really looking forward to more open RvR action. It's the thing that really won me over during the Closed Beta. While scenarios are fun, they aren't open RvR :) |

If it was that easy, everyone would do it. |
I agree, I love this game. Chaos Waste is the best in my opinion. Just too damn fun to play anything else. |
