i have played a lot of mmorpgs over the years from city of heros  to wow and what i can say about each one to sum it all up compared to warhammer here we go,

city of heros city of villains : the game is nice and all you look difrent from everyone eles which is nice , the pvp of the game can be great and the constant roaming around gives a sense of being just super,  you never feel like you are good or bad , depending on what side you play from.  end result  countless hours of grinding to see your once beloved toon fail to be any different then the next guy  in terms of power.

daoc, great rvr game , but a lack of people play it anymore because of the constant nerfs that mythic has done to the game to unbalence the game in favor of the mids. no real end result because of constant need of money for armor repairs ,

dungeon runners,  F2P grindfest for gear,

eq, once had all the elements of what a mmorpg should of been about and took a turn for the worst each year with sony screwing things up a little more till people find no reason to play the game.

eq2, same story

guild wars, great mmo but instance kills any interaction period and lack of lvls , gear, or huge open pvp system killed the game.

swg, once was  the best idea for a game and sony took control and destroyed a game people liked , sounds familure ?

wow, open world is nice, constant flow, no lag, hugh population . good elelments for a mmo, right ? not if the comunity sucks, the constant grindfest , and the entier game based off of getting the newest gear makes this mmo stupid when there will never be a end game to sit around and enjoy and do fun stuff.

Warhammer. the game is still new but from the looks of it, this games end result will be nothing but countless hours of keep raids, pvp, in your face excitment that all the other mmorpge just dont deliver , except a few like guild wars and daoc if it still has life.

I think the reality is that because the views are SO split down the middle, the game can only be a success because it means they hit their target audience(the pvp/rvr crowd) and thosr that are in it love it, those who dont get the game hate it. like a great music album does

it pwns all because it is all about the pvp. and when you have great pvp, you have the elements for a great game period.  take a look at most of the mmos that dont have pvp, can you even name one that is kicking the crap out of the major mmorpg companys ?  warhammers pvp is from the same guys why made the best pvp to begin with , DAOC,  now dont get me wrong about daoc in my review , if daoc had or would have the same numbers that wow has now. then daoc would be the best right now because of the rvr hugh raiding  going on, but part from the reason why  is because of mythic  nerfing peoples beloved toons

warhammer has  not brought out the nerf bat , and you know why ? because they test the crap out of the classes before they release them, thats why the classes for the order dwarfs, dark elfs and orcs have yet to be finished ..... warhammer seems to be going in the right direction unlike most mmo's i have played.

and the right result is epic battle on a stange where people will be in the mix to show off their talents and compete against one another. its not about the oh look at me i spent 100 hours farming this mob  to wear these stupid gloves that i probly wont need anymore because the next exspansion will have armor that better then what i got right now .

All Warhammer is is Call of duty, Battlefield or any of the other online games that you capture my flag I capture yours, when you can see this you may stopping calling it a Propper MMO and just a shoot um up game that you log on, kill some peeps and have a blast then log of, nothing more..

who would love nothing more then to come riding on a stead with a sword in one hand  hacking and slashing,. and getting into the mix of a battle . they understand that some mmorpgs are a little bit better when you make a toon you enjoy playing not just for pve content

but like to use it in a pvp once in a awhile also.  thats what warhammer delivers  more then any mmorpg out there.

Sorry but that's a very ignorant statement. Not everyone holds PvP in such high regard. Yes the PvP in WAR might be amazing but this seems to be to the detriment of the RPG elements. This is the main reason I will not be purchasing the game - I buy a MMORPG to engage in RPG gameplay (quests, storyline, events, dungeons) not fighting other players.

At least this post is better then the Troll post and Haters from WoW that come on here.

more content  you ask ?  okay  how about this., other then the pvp aspect of the game here is what else you get.

public quest where you join a group of people helping out on a quest and depending on how much you contributed  in the end you get loot that is pretty good . and how much influnce you get from doing pq's you can get rewarded with gear or potions, and how much stuff you kill if you did do some grinding , you got these things call kill collectors that give you xp

 for killing

 bears or wolfs or chickens or whatever,

what eles, the crafting system is not recipe based which  is awesome,because there is  no more stupid hours crafting crap you can use or sell to raise skill in it, and 99% of the stuff you craft you can use. which is awesome, as for the 1% you could sell it lol, the background of the game is just mind blowing as to why this side hates this side. 

or i could ask of you to just play the game and find out  for your self.

I havent played WAR yet but i intend too.

How can alot of you say that WAR dosent have content??? It has just as much as WoW did when it first came out and has the same element as running into someones town and ransacking it. WAR will be a great game but i think since DAoC's epic failure people are watching it just not playing.

I feel that probably twice the number as they have now are still watching the game i think WoW and other games alike are going to see a huge hit over the next year or so and then a minor hit this december when Runes of Magic comes then next year will be the deciding factor of who from 08 can still stand and i think alot of MMO's are going to cripple under RoM WAR and Champions Online. these arnt games im favoring(I am but im not sayin all of this just because i want to play these) this is just truth.

Agreed.  One of the reasons I got burnt out on WoW after 3 years is the constant barrage of kiddies insulting my intelligence with the worst spelling and grammar I've ever seen.  PUGs were a nightmare because there was rarely a sense of teamwork; everyone was concerned for their own loot drops, etc.

Granted, I met a lot of cool people too and did get into groups with them that worked out nicely. 

My point is that if WAR already has that type of community, then that's one reason for me to not play it.  I'm also not a big fan of PVP, so that's another reason.

If you like WAR, then great, enjoy it.  But please stop the childish "WAR rulez! I am gunna pwnz u!!!1!!!!" posts.  We get it, you like the game.  But try expressing your opinion in an already active post, instead of flooding the boards with redundancy.

You get kids and idiots in every mmo. WoW did a good job of luring these folks in and sadly they are here to stay, best thing you can do is work on getting into a good guild that wont let them in, and move from game to game with them.

Warhammer is at best a mediocre mmo I have been through the game and explored the vast majority of content and it is for the most part a mess. It is way too buggy it is way too linear it feels too much like a single player game where you jump in and do some PVP. It almost feels like Call of duty with elfs and dwarfs and swords. Except Call Of Duty has awesome graphics and is a good game.

For sure not everyone is gonna like it.

I love the game simply because of the collision detection, PvP leveling, scenarios and RvR.  I really like the huge keep battles that I've been in and the constant open world RvR that I've been a part of.  Also the fact that they have oceanic based servers is a big plus for oceanic players.

In terms of PvP content, its blows the competition away.  That being said a few tweaks need to be made like population imbalances, renown mastery abilities and scenario dominance over world ORVR.  But other than that this has the potential to become a great RvR MMO and I'm having tons of fun in it at the moment.

The people who don't favor PvP as much may not like it.  I for one will be playing it for a long time.

I agree with fuzzy, for the first time in a MMO since UO I can start building my character from level 1 in pvp. No need to go run errands for boring npcs, no need to go exterminate some evil hidden denizen that I have no real knowledge of, its straight to beat the hell out of bob the overextending shaman reject!

You are right, it PWNS, this is precisely the problem.

I certainly understand why lot of people enjoy WAR-like PvP, good for them. I'm all about PvP, will not play a MMO without it, but WAR PvP is BORING. There is no penalty for dieing and no penalty means no excitement (for me). If there is no fear of losing, half of the excitement goes out the window. The other half comes from looting someone else, of course WAR PvP is PvP-lite.

Ha.. Nice to see a "This game is good" Thread instead of the countless others.. of "This game is bad".

and what happens when you put a "good" thread up? All the I don't play the game trolls come out and tell you your opinion is wrong.
