It's one month and done for me with WAR. I like it more than AoC, but ultimately I again wasted $50. I kick myself for wasting $100 this year on those two games. I'm done with MMOs this calander year. Stopped my WoW subscription and won't buy WotLK either. Hello Pokerstars.net; playing freebies.

given the amount of bitching on here, you'd expect this figure to be a little lower than the current (at time of writing) 72%. Thats not a terrible retention rate, its not great either.

I guess the whiners are just a bit more vocal.

Im renewing, once you find a guild that actually wants to do all the COOL pve stuff (not quests, or even PQ's) then its an amazing game. too bad 95% of the people on these forums dont know anything about the pve aspect of WAR.

Admit I was a bit confused the first time I was in Gunbad - now I think it is a great dungeon actually. Both in terms of speed, how hard it is and boss fights. Just took some time to understand the layout and design at first.

I'll be renewing my account, this is actually been more enjoyable from a PvE / RvR / PvP aspect to me than WoW ever did but i did quit WoW in Nov 06.

I think people who hunger for more PvP will stick to this, it has meaning and its a lot of fun.
People who moan about PvE and the lack of it can leave, this game was never built in the idea PvE would be the main selling point.

But nearing 80% on the votes is very good going to be very interesting when we get some full scale Realm 40 characters bombing it around :)

Good game... Mythic did a great job imo. I'm playing thru it with my 3 sons (4 accounts total). No time to post really; just trying to keep up with them.

One of the best mixes of pvp and pve I've seen. It does need a little tweaking (less xp for scenarios and more for rvr-area imo). But all in all, a lot of fun. More pvp-centric than most games out there, which is more dynamic and interesting.  Will definitely play it thru Christmas.... then see how much work Mythic has done between now and then.

I didn't know WoW was worth playing to begin with. Expansion is gonna bring the same ole crap with a new land mass. And that new pvp area they are talking about, ya it'll be cool at first, but the way it is now, AV still gives better honor per hour (Yes I beta'd it), so after the new wears off....everyone will be back to the same ole honor grind in valley. Game is no different, and WotLK is not worth the money imo.

WAR is a game i've been playing non stop since it came out, and won't be renewing my WoW sub or buying the expansion, if that answers your question from my point of view.

Your poll needs to have an Undecided choice or something similar.

Currently I have canceled my sub just so I have to make a choice when I log and get the message that my account is innactive.  Then I will be forced to make a real decision.

As it is right now, my server is pretty dead around my levels.  The vast overwhelming majority of the T1-T2 content goes unused.  No PQs, open world RvR, PvE dungeons, etc.   There is just not enough people around to do anything, let alone communicate with them to try and organize something.  I could just give up all my characters to move to a more populated server, but all of my friends play on that server and most are T3+.

MMORPG really needs to build in a "no vote" option to their polls just so people who have no opinion can see the results. There are people who vote just to see the results. I'm not saying this is the case here.

I personally find WAR a refreshing twist to mmo's. I will be playing WAR becuase of the better questing system and just new content as a whole. I played WoW since its release and I have to agree that it is a loop with the games content. Fun, but still same o same o. WAR brings interesting classes and I believe the more time we put in the game and money we pay, the more we will see it invested in future content.  that is comething Blizzard seems to slack on. I hope everyone helps bring WAR to its true potenial so  we all can experience the satisfaction that  true PvP can offer.  Good gaming everyone!!

It would be more "great" if the polls were actually scientific or accurate in any way.  Sadly, the poll is only a poll of the people that actually bothered to read and respond to this one thread on this one site.  That is a very small fraction of the people that are actually playing the game.  Therefore, the poll could be entirely wrong on EITHER side, renewing OR not renewing.  Hell, it could be wrong on BOTH ends.

I wish there was some way to accurately poll every single gamer playing a game.  Unfortunately, there isn't.

After having played most major MMOs on the market, I am presently waiting to see what game developers will do with the genre. In the meantime, I have returned to EQ2 and single player RPGs. I support games of all genres. Every gamer should have a game they truly enjoy.

Yep i agree, but the majority of people enjoying the game and will be renewing are in game. I m only here because i have to go to work in a bit:( That said if even 50% on here said they re renwing it s still good because as i said most that are going to aren t even on here. Forr MMORPG.com and all the whiners that tend to come here it s damn good.

I think it will have a high retention rate for the following reasons:

  1. It is was released in a very good state compared to recent releases of MMOs.
  2. It has a lot of PvP, peeps like PvP.
  3. It has good content Pve, pvp and rvr.
  4. It has new exciting classes.
  5. People from DaOC, WAR (workshop) enthusiasts and MMO junkies (like myself) will be interested in it.
  6. Introduction of the 4 cut classes and cities will be like a free expansion pack
  7. Does not have overly high spec requirements

OK WOTLK will be out soon and that may steal its thunder, but i think that a there is room for both in the market, and i for one will not be rushing out to get WOTLK, as it will keep for when i am ready for it.

Currently playing WoW.
Played: Eve, VG, AoC, WAR,PS,FE, EQ2.
Looked at: LOTRO, DDO

im amazed boybags isnt in here yet spouting about how what with a capacity of 5 on each server that the total number of votes is so far above to total world wide capacity of the servers that the majority of voters cant actually have played the game and are lieing.

btw aslong as i can afford too (pretty tight money atm sadly) i will be resubbing. if not immediately then the moment i have funds

Renewing.

I'm having more fun than I've had in an MMO in a while. I can relax and just PvE or I can sign in to do just one scenario and find myself, several hours later, saying "just one more".

I'd like to do more RvR but Order doesn't seem very interested in it at the moment.
