Just trying to have fun.

Right now I'm on the fence about darkfall. I have been reading up on the game, and watched the latest video.

While I think the graphics are decent, and I like the idea of the combat system not being auto attack.

I'm not a big fan of skill systems. For me they just don't fit a fantasy setting. I don't think you should be able to make a plate wearing warrior type with skills for fire, ice, healing, and debuffing. That just does not fit any fantasy book, or lore I have ever read.

Other than that I think the game is interesting, and am thinking of giving it a try. But might wait till I hear reviews from other players.

I can understand that. My first MMO was UO so I have the opposite problem alot of times lol. Hard for me to get into the class systems after having all that freedom. The plus side to trying DarkFall though is if everything continues going as planned everyones going to get to play the game for free before buying it. This part I liked lol I'm sure I am going to like DarkFall regardless but it's nice not having to spend 50-60$ to find out I didn't like it lol.

Anyone who wants to go into outer space is not playing with a full deck! (Example: Richard Garriot)

The five or six people still playing Dark and Light will probably never leave. Anyone who has stuck with this joke of a game this long has probably dedicated their life to it.

As for everyone else on the planet, yeah, I think its safe to say that they will all want to play Darkfall if it ever stops being vaporware and actually gets released. But due to the massive amount of time the game has been in development, plus the massive amount of hype it has built for itself, I think its safe to say that the game is going to be a massive dissapointment for everyone except the hardcore PvPer who beleive any game with a full looting system is automatically the greatest game of all time. Nearly everyone else will probably want a refund after five minutes or so of playing. In other words, the same thing that happened to Shadowbane.

Sorry I thought the servers were still down. Had I known they were up I wouldn't have posted here. I had came to DnL to play while waiting for DF. Couldn't get it to work found out it was shut down, atleast that was what I was told. Researched it and found out it was still down atleast till after the hearring in or around Oct. After lossing the counter suit and what not it didn't look good and all the Vid, Beta, Publisher, Server host chit starting happening with DF So figured I'd just ask here. Again I am sorry I had my information wrong I didn't realise the servers were still up.

But anyways my interest in DnL is gone now anyways since it looks like DF is launching soon so I appologise for my innapropriate post and enjoy DnL guys, I wish you luck.

DF or no DF, it couldn't possibly be as bad a game as DnL was. Plus Aventurine isn't SELLING its beta keys like we saw with SoG. Soooo, if DF comes out I'll try it, and if I like it, I'll stay. If I don't, then it's no big deal either.

I'm definitely not a DF fanboi, but I fail to understand how comparing DF with DnL is a reasonable comparison at this time.

Played: UO, SWG Pre-CU (until 11/16/05), Various F2P's
Playing: GW
Awaiting: WAR, DF
Never played: WoW
