I have tried to stay away from the forums about this game in the past because i didnt have the computer to run the game. I just built my comp the other day and i loaded up the game and started to play. I love the game at the moment but i noticed one thing.

No one seems to use the chat. at first i thought it was just broken. Then i tested it, it works. but why dont people talk?

just fyi im on an RP server

I think it's because the chat is 'different' from other games and most people don't take the time to learn how to use it effectively.

Also, it would appear that almost everyone is guilded, so they're likely to be on their guild voice chat server.

For me, I'm forever typing in the wrong channels or getting my text imterrupted, so I simply give up and sing along to Johnny Cash instead :)
