I found the game extremely boring T1 and 2 where ok but nothing special but after that it just turned into another grind fest. And before you start flameing me no I didn't power lvl and played in the RVR lakes I just don't like the zerging play style that happening at the moment just reminds me of wow to much. |

First of all my favorite game of all time was SWG Pre-Cu version.. since the CU and NFKNGE garbage ive tried WoW,PotBS,Tabula Rasa,Guild Wars,D&L,D&D,CoH/CoV,Fury,LineageII,RF online,Lord of the rings,Vanguard,The Matrix and the Face of mankind and im sure theres a few others i cant remember.. And IMO they all kinda sucked and for the most part WoW is just one big time sink after time sink it either sucks you in like a drug or it never does anything for you.. It never did anything for me wich might be because the SWG/SOE chaos of the game revamps turning months of work if not years into nothing! i just cant get into any mmo that requires me to do endless grinds of the same thing over and over, and WoW is so like that in my veiw. As for War sure its a carebare casual game tbh but its fun! and is great for a casual player and i know the WoW die hards think there all hard core and its not in fact the wow PVP and system is pathetic but since ive been playing EVE for 2 years now and enjoy the whole risk thing EVE has become my main and WAR makes a great 2nd casual game for me to play and i think its great!! |

To all of you idiots: It's spelled fanboy. I've queue'd during all hours of the day, from the middle of the afternoon to the wee hours of the morning. It's either a low pop server or a full one which takes so long to get into it's not even funny. I'm not switching servers either, I've leveled my toon now Mythic should have combined my server with another, but they didn't. This is a monumental failure, and cancelled accounts will be the response of many. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Originally posted by bodypass Let me tell you something bodypass, WoW once had a system, they scrapped it. WoW will always be PvE at best. There PvP is just simply care bear and always will be. They are trying to make a game that thrives on a PvE system to a PvP format and it wont fly for the hardcore pvpers. Yeah they can dress up there system, but WoW pvp has NO EFFECT on its World from level 1 to 80. And to load up into a BG with siege, is not my gig. I played that game for 2 years and decided to call it quits when they released the 1st expansion, cause TBC killed old WoW. And now with Lich King coming out, who is going to do TBC shit now? I miss old WoW, not the shit they got now. Currently Playing: AO and FE. |

This guy must work for Blizz, I'm serious check the guys post history. He/She even sounds like a PR guy. Really mate theres no need to worry, you have the Gold farmers to keep server numbers up no need to come on here trolling the forums. The fact is a lot of people are enjoying playing WAR, why cant you accept that? No one on here for the most part cares about WoW we played the damn game for 4 years what more do you want. No one cares about the top 500 esport arena that WoW introdused and nobody cares that open world PvP, 4 years late by the way, is comming to that crap fest of a game. |

On an unrelated note, you have 3 chars on wow....All with brutal gladiator gear!? Holy crap, its tedious enough getting one char, whatever floats ya boat i guess. |

It's quite obvious what the problem here is. WAR is not crappy, thank you for your opinion but myself and many others are enjoying it. Your problem is judging by your WoW alts you've simply been spending too much time playing mmorpgs. ( I mean if I spent that much time playing WoW, any online game would seem crappy to me) Take some time to enjoy different genres, or maybe if you're feeling daring some console games with friends. Come back in about in about 3-4months and I can assure you WAR will feel like a breath of fresh air. |

Originally posted by bodypass Yes, in Wow you play to better your character. Any problems with having fun AND better your character? And perhaps War had better created more central zoned world PvP areas. Concentration helps. As for the execution in the animation of the PvP fights itself and the possibilites of moveable siege engines, tanks, air and anti air units.... these options give indeed more tactical opportunities. Btw AV is revamped a 4 th time. And there is a new sea landing BG with beach assaults, and 3 tiers to breach. So if you want to miss this kind of PvP action, np. But the problem is you don't want to miss it....
I played the beta, played the new class up to about 76, played my shaman, druid, mage, and warlock with the increased spec lines, played Wintergrasp, and I can honestly say that all of it pretty much sucks... Wintergrasp is horrid. I, sadly enough, expected more from Blizzard. Wintergrasp is just weak. 4 years and they tout 1 area as open PvP and everyone thinks it's the greatest thing. I've been to Wintergrasp and participated in the open world PvP so I know first hand what to expect from it and it is nothing from what I was expecting from it. I am highly underwhelmed with the area in general. The thing that gets me the most is the fact that it is a timed siege. Basically I have to wait for the area to become attackable. They could've had many areas by now become open world PvP areas but instead they add it to 1 expansion and expect people to be content with that. Sorry but I payed $50 for the first expansion and It was the worst expansion to a game I have ever played (except UO AoS but that sucked in an entirely different way). I know when I heard WotLK announced that they would have to have a much better expansion to get my money and, while it is better, they still did not do a good enough job. |

Dear God Op, what are you, Protus AOC in disguise? When you just wrote that, I read it and thought, "He must be talking about Age of Conan, otherwise his claim is far too rediculous. ------------------------------ 'Cry Havoc, and Let Loose the Dogs of WARRRRR!!!' |

Not really. I would just make sure to get 10 games a week on all 3 of my characters, and do the daily battleground as often as possible. The leveling took more time than the gearing. While gearing these characters I put in less than 10 hours a week. I'm not playing WoW anymore though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hahaha the OP is still here? I thought he'd be off making 10 identical posts in other forums by now. Hmm

Originally posted by jblah Well if you are making a pitch to WOW and trying to get your friends to play again you may be in the wrong forum. Unfortunatly if you think WAR's PVP sucks then that really says very little about WOW's. Only reason WOW has succeded is right time right place. If it switched places with WAR in release dates this topic would be saying the opposite. Yes WAR has its problems but you really need to ask yourself what WOW is bringing thats new this November since its obvious you love WOW. The fact that WOW is doing nothing new and actually copying somethings from other games but doing less with them you need to worry about WOW not WAR. Do yourself a favor and worry about the problems with the game you do like.
Uh, did he mentioned Wow anywhere? The fellow just didn't like the game ( and made a quite meaningless thread about it instead of getting another game like the rest of us would). But I do agree with the OP that Mythic could have waited a bit longer with the release of the game, wouldnt kill them to have all the classes and citys + some extra polishing time on it. Unfortunatley all games are released early today. |

Hmmm. Well from my experience of the game, from what i had done within the 3 weeks of game play, it didnt hit the spot. There was no flow, the loading for each place just made it seem unreal. The dungeons didnt award xp and the lag i had when laoding was a bit painful. Keep raids were average... Guild ranks syestem was good... But couldent see where this was going when u made end game. Was also disappointed with the gear, it seemed repetative throughout the first 20 lvls. Dyes did make it better but still allot of people could easily be seen wearing the same gear. Still hopeing for a WoW beating mmo, i know ill be playing WoW till then... |

Wow is clearly mostly concerned with PvE, PvP being not a central conceit of the game, whatever Blizzard says. Which is fine with me, because I think what has been proved by recent releases is that a game focused intensely on PvP becomes the same thing over and over again very quickly. All this talk about persistent effects and a game "doing something for you" is revealing. Eve may offer the most persistent political and economic and territorial effects of any game, and that's exactly why it is doomed to be boring to most people trying it for the first time. The two things are almost in inverse proportion: ability to acquire lasting power, and the ability to have fun anytime soon as a new player. People characterizing the WoW player base in any general descriptive way is ludicrous... it's so many different kinds of people that there's no pigeonholing it. If you think it's all (fill in the blank), then you're not really trying to engage people, which is your choice. I've met EVERY kind of person on WoW, from twelve year olds trying to act tough to church music directors to housewives to (many) military guys. There is most likely similar diversity on many other games, but WoW, by its very accessibility so loathed by hardcore gamers, offers a much more readily available diversity of people to group and chat with than say, EvE or DDO. People saying WoW is point and click and "easy" and a "grindfest" are simply unimaginative in how they approach the game. The range of possible approaches, both within a character and in team, duo, and guild situations is simply staggering. If you focus on gear or level or stats, well, yeah, you can make it a job, but that's your choice, not Blizzard's channeling of possibility. I think WAR is a good faith attempt to offer something in the same content and style area as WoW but with a PvP focus. The difficulties people are having seem to stem from Mythic's success in creating just that. Someone will eventually get both right in one game, with an atmosphere and art design that hangs together, and immersive character and npc movements. Then WoW will have competition beyond hard core gamers and sandbox fans who will never be satisfied with it, will always be searching for either a more gory, more intense, more real, more brutally competitive world to walk around in, or for sandboxers a game that allows them to create a space within a game that has a eprsonal stamp. WoW definitely lacks that in terms of character and profession: my 52 draenei shaman herbal;ist alchemist is pretty much like yours. What Wow does not lack, and apparently many feel War does lack (no matter how blue in the face the fans get) is fun. |
