GOOOODDDDDDDDD!!! That would be awesome. My 2 favorite things I like is that:

a) You don't have to be a fighter of any sort in order to have your place in the game. There was so many options that you could do and still be known. examples are resources, auctions, crafters.

b) It felt like I was real because I had an actual house and was able to put it anywhere I wanted. I also got to decorate it any way I wanted.

This is all Pre-NGE but I sure hope it comes back.

Most of it IS back, with more being added every day. Housing isn't QUITE done yet, but should be ready very soon.

Now..back to DWB with my Rifleman....

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

Playing Lineage 2: Goddess Of Destruction

10/03/08 2:23:38 PM#28

My first MMO was Lineage 2 and to this day it is still my favorite. I have tried most everthing on the market and nonthing can give me the feeling that I get from Lineage 2. I have been playing Lotro for the last month but I have already decided that I am going back to L2 this weekend. L2 will be my main MMO till AION comes out.

TWILIGHT ONION!

FFXI was my favorite and first real try to get into an mmorpg, I had tried EQ and PSO before but I never really got into them to the point where I could say I played them. I only got level 12 in EQ and level 21 in PSO. FFXI was my first REAL mmorpg I tried and got far in. Had level 75 DRG 75 WHM 75 war by June 2005. I deleated my character in November 2005, For some really dumb personal reasons, Then started playing WoW. Played that for 2 years, sold my account and characters in Febuary 2008. Now I can say iv moved Down to worse things, Sword of the new world which is by far one of the most boring grind intencive games I have ever played, Its horrible excuse for game play is only made worse by the ridiculus cash shop prices.

Yep iv moved down quite a bit...sunk quite deep, Scratching the bottom of the Garbage can that I like to call Free 2 play Korean games.

Why do i do it, College, And saving money for a motorcycle, Sword of the ne world is 100% free and 100% optional cash shop. You can also AFK level in that game, In the time I wrote this I gained 1% of a level at level 91 ~.~ yes 1% of a level in the time It took me to type this, But I didn't have to play it. Now that I have so much homework...I guess the only real mmorpg I can play is one that play's itself and that is really a shame because I would be the first person to tell you Sword of the new world IS CRAP!

Seeing as how I was a bit late to the MMO frontier (I started out RPGs with Diablo 2 instead of playing EQ), my first game was SWG.  So yeah, my first MMO is by far the best, because IMO no MMO since even comes remotely close to SWG in terms of depth.  WoW, as my next MMO did a lot of things right, in making the game far more entertaining to play, but fell very short in providing the depth needed for long term enjoyment.  I would have gone back to SWG after my two year stint with WoW, but alas, the SWG I knew was long gone and some trashy wanna-be wow clone was in its place.  Such a shame really....

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional.

im voted the first answer because my first mmo though i may not play it, it will be number one for me for forever. When I loaded up Everquest for the first time and enter into this new world of gaming it was a experiance only your first mmo can give you. No other mmo to DATE has given me that kind of joy and entertainment. Yeah i hated Death Penalties, HELL FU#*IN LEVELS, but i did them. Why because thats how good Everquest was to me. I've tried alot of mmo's since and they just cant grab me like Everquest did. Even now as i play WAR i can see when The Old Republic Online comes out WAR will be a figment of my imagination because I'm playing it now, but thats because its the only mmo thats worth a damn right now to play if you need a mmo fix.

Absofrigginlutely yes! SWG was my first and biggest MMO love. The community, the complexity, my wonderful guildmates, the nights... nothing was EVER as the grand old days of SWG. Not a bit. Alas.

Favourite not sure. But I'm most fond of Everquest; it is great going back there sometimes and playing around with your character. Favourite? I'm cynical these days, can't be assed with ocd-tastic grindfests.

Technically, my first "mmos" were MUDs and I assume you guys mean the more recent grapchic "enchanced" multiplayer games, no?

That being the case, my first would be UO. I had a pretty much had a love hate relationship with it though. Loved and hated the pvp aspect, loved the excitement, hated the exploits. I still remember my guild "tenting" someone's keep door area then filling the "courtyard" with liches and dragons. The fact that we stooped so low, and was able to get away with it, till they "fixed" it (almost 3 weeks later) didn't inspire confidence in the game's powers who were. (gms, admins).

The game that gave me the best memories was EQ though. Regardles of my own distaste and hate of the Evercamp that EQ was, EQ hit on a nerve that very games today could do. It came at the right time, with the right technology and to be honest, I guess right mix of exploration and wonderment of discovery in a pve enviroment that gave people tired of UO. To me though, perhaps more importantly was EQ's player community. Somehow, people were different on EQ, more cooperative, much more cohesive as a community then what was found in UO. EQ has its faults, but for a game that gave me almost 8 years worth of memories, that's worth something.

My first MMO was City of Heroes.  It is not my favorite but definitely one my top three.  Until this day I think their character creation is unrivaled.

Guild Wars.  I'd say it's still my favorite for one reason: no other game matches the skill, content, artwork and graphics for the PRICE.  I tried WoW, AoC, LotRO, and Tabula Rasa.  The last one is the only one that approaches the fun I had with GW, and still sometimes have.  Because it's not fee-based, I can leave it and come back whenever I want, no resubscribing involved, or thinking I got a game sitting there that I'm paying for that I never play.  Plus, it has mo most favorite profession of any game: the Mesmer.  It's like playing the spiritual embodiment of the Joker: you create pure chaos.

Ultima Onilne was the first game I lpayed, but Everquest was my favorite and WoW my second favorite.  Ultima Online was my third favorite.

In Everquest I have a lot of both good and bad memories, but overall I had more memorable experiences in it then in other MMOs that I have played.

SWG from launch to NGE. It was fun while it lasted. For now I'm giving up on the MMO genre and sticking with console games.

My first MMORPG was WoW (for shame!) and sadly I fall among those who will make comparisons to it, purely due to my limited frame of reference.

One good thing that has come out of this however is that  my eyes have been opened to the wider genre (along with millions of others, for better or worse) and I follow all new games on the horizon with great interest. I'm not above switching allegiance should the right game that suits my playstyle come along.

I had to vote the top option but my first MMORPG isn't the same as it once was, (i'm a Pre-NGE SWG refugee) no other MMORPG has compared to it in my opinion since the NGE went live, i prefer the complexity of things, there are those that say they "don't want to come home from work and load a game up and then feel like they are at work again" which is fair enough for them, my train of thought and preference for a game is it's complexity, i don't work all day then load a game up and feel i'm at work again because it's a game, i was into heavy crafting on Pre-NGE SWG and loved every minute of it, it was complex and i enjoyed undercutting the market by gathering my own resourses instead of buying them from someone else, it was also CREATIVE not simply gather this amount of that and make this, it was all about the quality and experimentation..   They haven't been released as yet but Darkfall and Earthrise are saying that they offer this kind of thing and i'm looking forward to seeing if they are correct, if they are then it's been nearly 3 years since any game decided to build on the popular crafting of SWG, if they don't then it'll be god knows how long and chances are i'll stop playing MMORPG's..  too many of the same log on, kill this, raid that, PvP him games around no matter what their theme is..  every MMO to date has forgotten about the RPG side of things.

*note to those who say crafting is just like it was pre-NGE

IT ISN'T..  the NGE removed the need to see a crafter once in a while to repair your items and it made instances and random mobs drop better than crafted items,  this killed the crafting of SWG and no game i've played contains decay where a crafter is required, and no game today can say that crafted items are better than looted items, removing the need for crafting all together.

My first MMORPG was Anarchy Online. I still like it, but I just can't keep up with all the expansions. My agent is still under level 100 so it feel like I missed alot while in the army. But somehow I always keep comparing every other game I play with my old AO experiences and most of the time get dissapointed when newer games don't really reach my expectations. ^^

I apologise. meant no game today that i've played..  ryzom i've heard good things about but after digging up info and that it hasn't appealed to me, although i love complex crafting and such it's not the only factor i look for in a game m8,  thanks anyway though, might end up trying it out at some point.

EQ was my first and while it was great alas it was not my favorite.

SWG for the first several moths after its release was my absolute favorite MMO. For the first time there was a game with no boundaries. It was innovative well beyond its contemporaries and there has never since been a MMO that can deliver the virtual world experience that SWG made possible.

When the whiners started getting their way and they added Doc buffs and holocrons and such the end was obviously near but those glorious months prior to that were pure bliss.

My frist Game was Earth and Beyond.  I still miss it and I try to avoid EA games now too.
