I returned to AO last night to play it again, and was rewarded for it in spades.

All the work I did was gone, the character was deleted.

I went to post something about it on the forums, and it would not work. I couldn't post a thing despite numerous tries to login.

I am not pleased in the slightest, and I feel that I was 'removed' because there is a cash contest and I cannot participate in it.

So instead of whining to the devs, I will hype them with a 1 instead.

Hope the rest of you are more fortunate, I will not be returning after all to play.

First off, when was the last time you played? was it longer then a couple weeks ago? I f so then you were playing in closed beta, and like most other closed beta games there was a character wipe for everyone playing the game and had nothing to do with "cash contests."   If it was after the CB3 wipe that you started playing and you got deleted it had nothing to do with you not being able to participate in any cash events because there hasn't even been any in open beta yet. If you are out of the area that Ndoors provides service to you might be subject to an IP block.  Or you got caught trying to hack. only reasons i can think of off the top of my head.

This is hardly the case, as the last time I was there I deleted the account on purpose.

This time, I only played for about 4 hours before I went to sleep. The next morning it was all gone save the account which I logged into. I am hardly a 'hacker' by any definition as I simply don't want to look at the inner workings of games for any length of time. I am too engrossed by the enjoyment of games to worry about that sort of thing.

I really don't know what happened, all I can say is I wasn't pleased by it.

And, as you  can see up till now I still haven't received a reply or an apology from Atlantica Online.

Don't look at the red flag and it will go away I think? Trust me the hypemeter is set as low as it can go and does not do a good job of reflecting how I feel.

Maybe you were spamming for gold selling web sites and they deleted your account. Also, why would anyone from Atlantica Online post here, much less post an apology to you? Have you tried contacting a GM to get it straightened out?

This might have been a technical glitch since it was just four hours ago. Given that you have not violated any rules as claimed, then most probably this is just one of the day to day possibilities that happen in any MMO today. Here's what i can suggest though, i noticed that there is a ticket system that nDoors is trying to implement found in there website. Try submitting a ticket there as i have tried it and received a response within 24 hours. I am but sure that there is a good reasson as why this has happened and at least with that system you can ask for assistance without being ingame lloking for a GM to assist you since you can't log-in.

I wish you all the luck with this one and hope to find out one day that you have returned in game just as you tried creating an account which got deleted as you claim after a long time.

thats horrible! i feel lucky now that i just couldnt get into it (auto pilot to me is easy mode).

just in the future dont call it AO, there is already a game that has that acronym. and it sucks too.

Welcome to the firiendly world of asian grinds, devs are all nice at first, then they are much less active, then they just make stuff so that the super hardcore players are still decently satisfied and still have some goal to acheieve. In the end they care about one thing: $ and if making osme ppl unhappy makes em make more then lets do it.

Asian grinds are like crack or meth, feels sorta good, you know its bad for you but your still addicted and cant let go.

I'm sorry to hear about that. If that happened to me, I might've the same reaction as you. But maybe you can still appeal to your character... Try contacting the devs (try the ticket system the other poster suggested) and maybe you can get your character back. It's your right after all...
