Darkfall

Come on guys.. I want this game to come out and I want it to work..

But lets look at the facts:

1. No leaked beta info.  I know it's not a US game, and maybe if you leak a beta you get murdered or something, but .. well people push limits.

2.  Who's actually going to be carrying this game?  Darkfall hasn't authorized any pre-orders.   Find me one other game that's supposed to release this year that can't be pre-ordered. 

3. Supposedly feature complete, but didn't show all that many features in the video.  I know it's a PvP game, that's the main focus, but don't say you have more features but only show 1 or 3...

4. Nobody in beta.  Well, no one talking about it.  One thing the PvP community is known for is cheating.  Anything to gain an advantage of the opponent is good.  Duping, super jumping, teleporting.. anything.  With the lack of Beta information means .. even if they start an open beta (and by open, I mean upping the beta to 20k people) enough to break it and cheat.. no everything or anything possible.  Well, 3 months isn't enough time. 

I'm not a "this is vaporware" kind of guy, I'm just looking at the facts.  I think The Darkfall Team made a mistake by saying it's releasing this year (to build hype).. They should have just announced when they started open beta.  Until then, Darkfall is just a dream that.. well.. won't be out this year.

And FLAME ON, as I know the unrealistic DARKFALL ground will jump on how much info is out there.. and How I'm completely full of it.. But.. eh..

The few who might be in probably wont break NDA for you... sorry bub

its not agains nda to say you are in beta.

also they will not know who you are... ^^

Noone's gonna tell u its in NDA. Its not liek a huge closed beta with thousands of people and 3 guys leak, there's prolly at this point 50 people, there not gonna lose there spot for you.. sry bub

no. that is a friends and family beta if its only 50 people.

they need a couple thousand for a proper closed beta. ^^

As far as I have understood it:

There is a closed Beta since 2007, done by paid Beta testers (and probably some friends and family as well, but I'm not sure about that). I don't think professional Beta testers will risk leaking.

Since the 26th Aventurine is recruiting people for hardware spec testing. I have no idea if these people actually play the game, or if  they get fed some programs they have to run to see what machines can handle Darkfall.

I have seen some posts here and there that gave a slight hint. The amount of people that are in there at this time is probably very small, and I'm guessing they don't want to risk being bounced once the Open Beta starts...

We don't really care if you believe it's coming out or not. And beta is not for testing to these guys which you would know if you'd been following the game. Beta will do two things, hardware config as has already been stated and stress testing. Not balancing, not exploit fixing, not any of the normal crap. Just because the game isn't following the same methods as the rest doesn't mean there's something wrong with it.
