Yeah yeah I know, I hear already the "troll" calling trolls. Anyways. I am officially bored. I played into mid 20ies and feel so bored in WAR now. I cant even say 100% why. I stare at the launch button and think "maybe I play WAR now ... or maybe not". I think "hey maybe do some levels and quests?" but no. Maybe some RVR, fight a bit, die a bit, kill a bit, and then after 15-20 min I log off. I dunno, maybe the idea of Warhammer itself doesnt catch me, I cant say. It feels terribly 1-dimensional. I am sure its true to the Warhammer IP and the "technical" side is ok, but I find nothing in this game I really care for. Classes, races, quests, stories, landscapes... whatever, I cant make myself love any part of it. Yeah yeah, thats all subjective, but maybe a few other feel likewise? Sorry, I really dont want to pee at your favourite tree, but somehow WAR feels like a kiddie game. Easy to enter, quick rewards, zero depth. *shrug* |

to the OP: I understand completely where your comming from.. i actually got that problem starting with WoW. I coudnt log on my character, or when i did I really felt like I was wasting my time. I think one of the problems is that communities/guilds arent what they used to be for MMO's anymore. I suggest trying to find a casual/family/friends guild or a guild that aspires to your type of play style. That always helps me when I find people that enjoy the same things I do. But yes I have had the same issue with Warhammer, only my problem was more of what to play because I enjoy so many of their classes. However I understand that game can get a little boring every now and then...which is fine because in the long run this game has the end game ive been waiting for. If your still bored, maybe you should play less often...i mean the game takes a while to play from 1-40 (if you have a life). |

4 years SWG and 4 years EQ2. So close, yeah. I am used to MMOs where you SLOWLY built characters and things to last. |

Somehow I knew in hell there would be mushrooms. |
No, I'm not getting that feeling yet. Mind you, I'm playing with a guild and friends. Are you playing solo? If so, I can understand why you'd be bored. If not, then what's left to say if you don't care about it and think it has zero depth? Doesn't sound like WAR is for you. Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV |

I'm bored of posts like this. Get a life. Leave the rest of us alone to play/enjoy WAR. |

I can understand what you feel. I've gotten that way with games before. I kind of like war. I think it pales in comparison to daoc, so I was a little disappointed on that front. I'm still having fun in the game with friends, but I don't know how long it will last. If the scenarios weren't queues and could just go in like in daoc, or possibly a 3rd realm, lol, or more class diversity, heh who knows. Anyways, good luck finding something. I've taken a huge break from MMOs and probably will for a bit until something else interests me after war, which probably only be a couple months at most.
Hmm, I might play daoc when they come out with origins server. |

Yeah, pretty much feel the same way, except I figured it out a lot earlier. I only made it to level 8 in the open beta before I realized I didn't care for the game. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

Don't be angry because someone doesn't like your game and turn on them and discredit everything they say because they OBVIOUSLY don't have a life because they don't play your WAR... Get real And to the OP: I do suggest getting a guild if you aren't in one already, but aside from that I know where you are coming from... I had the same feeling in even LOTRO and EQ2... so now I am residing in WoW until I can pick up WAR and give it a shot myself maybe sometime in October or November. Hopefully I will enjoy it because WoW is getting a bit stale and the only other MMO out there that kept me interested was DDO and I have came and went so many times with that I feel if I go back it will just be a waste of money. And Darkfall is... well, Darkfall.

Hello Yunbei. I understand how you feel about the game, but I don't really feel the same. Actually, I used to feel the same with DAoC, and managed to overcome that in some sort of way. I had to get used to some things and actually change my playstyle in order to have fun with game fully. I can only give you my humble advice and hope they help you. First, playing solo can be really really boring. Getting into a nice guild and doing some scenarios with a pre-formed party can be VERY fun, believe me. Also, don't worry about items till you hit 40. Only then you'll have to worry about getting the city rank 3 set, which really makes a difference to your character. I don't know how tier 2 and 3 open RvR are going nowadays (got two character to 40 and didn't make any more alts so far), but if you're bored of scenarios/ PQs/ grinding then you should move to the real fun, which is forming a big RvR warband and siegeing keeps and outposts. It's better to do that on Tier 4 though, since you'll really feel like you're doing something important. Also, this isn't a game where you become a really known player, a heroic icon or anything like that. Your guild can become really really famous, like some did on DAoC, and of course some of its members will become more famous because of that, but nothing like being legendary. If you're really going to continue playing this game, start getting used to the feeling of being one between many, just a cadet in the middle of a huge army. That's what war is, isn't it? The main leaders get famous, the armies get famous, but not the soldiers. In my opinion they should just end with the main rank levels and just leave the renown ranks because trust me, there's a HUGE difference when you start playing tier 4 from before. You feel like every move you do matters a lot. But at the same time you don't feel that you're special, you just feel that your part can have a huge impact on the battle decision. Failure in killing this bright wizard may lead to the death of our only magus, who was supposed to pull every enemy to him with that spell and then our monstrosity marauders would kill the whole group. At least that's how I feel.. It's not a bad game, but its a different comcept (unless you played DAoC). I had problems when I moved from UO to DAoC, the same problems you're having. But now that I'm moving to WAR I'm having absolutely no problems regarding that. The post ended way too long, but I really hope it helps you. Ultima Online 98~04 |

First off I'm going to say .. yes its boring already. (for me.. see its a perspective.. not a universal truth). Anyway... Its not WAR.. its not that WAR is bad.. its that WAR is the same thing that bored me already. I don't think for me personally its really a suprise.. except that I could enjoy daoc. Simply because I had fun with the rvr.. WAR isn't grabbing me. It feels more like other MMO's I didn't enjoy that much. Thing is.. if someone doesn't enjoy someone shouldn't get all pissy and feel the need to defend it or apply the troll label. Oddly if this person posted it was the best game ever.. these same people would be slapping them on the back.. "oh ya buddy its the best thing ever". Its just perspective... And to be honest.. EA doesn't give a crap what anyone on mmorpg.com thinks... if the subs dropped below a certain number... the game would be gone. If they are above that number the game will be around. /shrug

Before WOW, there were MMORPG''s. After WOW there were online solo single RPG''s. |
What's missing is the sting of dying (although many other things are missing from WAR, such as a world, but I won't go into that). Games with stinging death penalty Surviving = relief, even a rush Dying = sucks Games without a stinging death penalty Surviving = no big deal Dying = no big deal
While these newer MMO's took the "it sucks" feeling out of dying, they also took the rush or joy out of surviving, and so we are left with bland cookie-cutter gaming experiences. |

Actually, I was fishing for a response like this..... I realized my post was rediculous when I made it. I only post while I'm at work because it gets slow around here and there is nothing else for me to do. If I thought this computer could handle WAR, or any game for that matter, I'd install it. I get bored at work, not at WAR. For me WAR is a pretty fun game. But, WAR is just a game. I mean, if you're bored, go do something else |

I'am the same I find the game extremely boreing there's nothing new in it and all there've done is take WOWs bad pvp and made it ten times worse, if you think there's any skill in wars pvp there isn't 90% of it's just a zerg fest with who ever has the most players and tanks wins. |

Originally posted by pencilrick well there are more ppl willing to pay money for the games without the "stinging death penalty". I have no intention of ever playing a game again that punishes me harshly for dying. For me the days of losing a precious item, having to find someone to put implants back in for me, having an item broken beyond repair, taking me out of the action for 15min, making me walk back to collect my stuff miles away only to die again, having my body camped by retards 3x my lvl having my ship destroyed and losing hours of work lost being punished for a server crash or ISP discon are well and truly over. MMO'ing is a form of entertainment to me, I do not need the threat of punishment and feeling like shite as a result in order to enjoy a game, any more than I need the threat of my TV blowing up everytime I watch a program.
And the OP is another person suffering MMORPG burnout. theres 3 things games dont need, especially MMO "RPG" games that has almost 0 "RPG" in it like warhammer online.. and that is death penalties, armor penalty and grinding.. warhammer doesnt have any of them and thats good... warhammer is more like a fps style ladder game than a traditional threadmill raid game.. what 0 death penalties do is make the Open RVR servers more alive, because all those people who where afraid of that stuff in the past because of death penalty, dont care anymore.. and starts to have fun. |

I feel the same way. I think WAR is a good game but I got bored really quick, to just have this only purpose to kill someone to do it again millions of time without any rewards I liked. Also, I did not felt any challenge. You die, you ressurect yourself, nothing lost. I felt not dangers of dying PvE or PvP. I was always like.. oh I don't mind dying. Yes there is quests and crafting... but once you have done all that, at level 40, you can't even raid to get cool stuff. If they were to tell us that they would implement raid content soon, I'd stay, but they are wayyyy too focused on PvP and RvR to add raid content. In my book, the more option and content a game has, the better it is. I guess the game is just focused too much on PvP for me... Don't get me wrong, I love PvPing, but not all the time. They need to improve and add crafting stuff and raid content. Some will tell me, but dude, it's a PvP game! I agree, but why not add more for people like me who enjoy Questing, Crafting, PvP, RvR, raids etc... You'd had a very complete and fun game and I wouldn't have this feeling that I beat the game... Oh and about PQ's, they're boring (to me). Nothing epic in that. Just kill everything in sight and you'll quickly get all the influence you need without much efforts. No thinking is required, only an hour or two max per chapters. And I won't talk about RvR here, cuz I think I've said enough to be hated here for a few years only with this small post. So this is ONLY my opinion and is not a troll post at all. Please don't take it seriously. Now playing : None |

I want something fresh, new, a new genre of games. Well, I will still play Warhammer every few days but it's so boring to me now too. Just another cookie-cutter. I find myself playing Ryzom for the first time now. Why? Takes skill and is unique. Lot's of strategy and different types of gameplay. No little kids clicking to kill. The community is filled with people that want to help instead of immature players that act like dicks. It also has a shitload of pvp. Sounds like my type of game so we'll see.
Still waiting for a new genre of games. There are some in development so I'm only hoping and waiting. |

I'm not going to call you a troll or any other negative name, but I am not sure what you want people to do by letting them know that you are bored. Most reactions to your post are going to be something similar to, "ummm ok....."
Plus, imagine if they made it super difficult, then most people would complain that it's too difficult. In the real world it is impossible to please everyone, it's just how the the world works. Maybe you should play single players games, not sure though. Anyway good luck in finding a game you enjoy, if not I guess replace playing games with another hobby.
