I have been playing various character from scratch to level 8 and having a blast in Empire Chapter 1, 2, & 3 Public quests. However, now I have a couple of tens, I went in serch of chapter 4 - and after three days, I can't find anyone who is doing them; also the RvR area is empty too. Since the server is full and (destro are queing to get on), where is everyone? Is it a case the that they have all become addicted to senario play (like my wife)? |

Hmm, yesterday morning (downtime) a guildie of mine invited me to help out with "grinding" influence in elven ch9 which is fairly unpopular area (for some reason most people play Empire as THE game). Anyway I flew over to Shadowlands and steeled myself for a long walk down to Ellyrion. Once I entered the south elven zone I saw a Warrior Priest by the road killing some trash mobs. I stopped and /tell him whether he'd like some ch9 pqs? He said "sure" probably because his level was a bit too low for that content and that'd be a good opportunity for him to maybe get hold of some imba loot. So we set up south again... A minute later we bumped into a White Lion running the other way. /tell again and the guy joined us. Now we had a 4-strong open group doing a PQ. Some Bright Wizard joined it before we got to the PQ site. At this point I made the group a warband. To cut the story short pretty soon we were doing PQs in elven ch9 one after another as a warband. People were entering and leaving our merry band but we never dropped below say 7-8 members. And all this in morning hours when there's considerably less people around. The point of my story? You have to actually stop and ask people to join. The lack of working local chat makes LFGing pretty impossible but it is very necessary at the beginning part of forming a group. The only thing you need to do is to create the "critical mass" for a group. I found that once you have 4 members doing PQs people will start joining on their own. Just make that first effort and you won't run out of company for doing almost anything in the game. |

Seems easier at Destro at this point on most servers, can only imagine how it is for Order. And it most likely wont get better. I just hope they make the chat function better.. |

So I rerolled on another server and started over. The number of people available to run PQ's has dropped tremendously. At T2 it is hard to even find a big enough group to finish PQ's.
I'm not sure what the answer is, but if it is this difficult in the first month, I wonder what it will be like in 6 months. |

Things will get much better once working tier-wide global chat gets implemented. There will always be at least 10 people on any given tier, no matter how old the game gets, and that is quite an adequate pool to recruit a few guys to go PQing together. The problem at this moment is that damn chat. Server-wide communications are pretty crappy right now and imo Mythic should put this on the top of their priorities for the UI team. |

As someone posted the trick to doing PQs is getting a group going. Without tier chat it is a hassle and you gotta do some work to get people to join. Tells, jumping up and down in front of them, running to outposts, etc. Stuff a tier wide chat channel would make east.... But once you have 4-5 people the groups take on a life of their own and are generally self sustaining. |

The biggest problem is the imbalance in the drops / money for quests and mobs in each Realm. The empire realm by far has the best random drops for crafting & gear while the quests give out less money. the greenskins area has really good quest items, money, but shitty drops for everything. Everyone who's used to drops or wants drops and good crafting drops are going to go to the Empire lands. I'm hoping they fix this because I really hate having to play the laggy empire lands. I leave my party open and toss out invites / tells to people but some people are just to stupid to join or don't even try. Its not discouraging its just rather funny since alot of the times these are the same people that complain its hard to find a group. Its really not that hard to use the tools that the game gives you ...you just have to try. |

for me it was either dont do pqs at all.. which for most of the part i didnt.. as there never were ppl around.. or press O enter wanted lvl range.. and spamm every player hoping atleast 3-4 from them will wana do some pqs. same shit as searching for instance.. just much harder as ppl actually dont give damn.. all of them have " i got grind renown " i have to get higher rank " i desperatly need more renown " you see where its headin.. i did quit yday..
quests are terrible in t4.. there are so few of them..and most of them are same.. kill 5 mobs.. grab 1 item.. run there.. all over again.. i didnt saw single inovate quest in this game..
huge zones , with plenty of details.. are standing all over game.. with 0-1 quests .. i ques its the fact of wow and aoc.. where area taking 1/5 of zone supposed to have more than.. kill 5 orcs.. god even witcher which is sp. had bigger use of big zones.. war world isnt that big it self.. but its well made and detailed.. and how quests feels.. you either do every damn pq.. or pvp like mad.. or just grind ( not an option. 500 exp per kill when you need half million.. some grindfest ) that how it is in most of the game. .especialy in t4.. when you can complete whole chapter quests in 20 mins.. you know its copy paste all over again. and devs just couldnt bother anymore.. |

Well, as far as I've seen, only some of the PQs are populated. By some, I mean most. And my most, I mean most of the beginning ones in each chapter. Obviously, some PQs are harder than others, so players avoid them. In turn, that gives the idea to new-coming players that no one will participate in that MMO, and it gets shunned.
I try to play all PQs at least once, win or lose. Most are pretty fun when you have guildmates to work with or some friends to back you up. People who try to solo PQs are the reason why they get a bad name. Or with some pretty poor backup...
I suggest you continue to play PQs. Influence rewards are pretty sweet if you don't have the rank, or cheese, for renown gear. --------------------------------------------- Callist0 |

I'm not saying that the system is 100% perfect and that there is no time wasted. If it were then we'd be probably looking at a multi-instanced game like GW. I'm not sure what's your problem with the "flight" bit - on the one hand you're complaining that time is being wasted and then you imply that we should be wasting time on flapping over landscape. If it weren't a guildie then it would have been someone on my friends list. Fail to see the point. Or even if I just went there on my own I'd very probably be able to gather those people on the road. You do have to make some kind of an effort in any game though, you know that don't you? Otherwise it wouldn't be a game but a movie. And even watching a movie does require some kind of activity.. like buying tickets and getting off your backside. A better realm and tier-wide comm channel would be much appreciated though but even without it grouping in this game is a symphony of joy and beauty when compared with WoW for example. |

Good point, I guess I'm just being lazy :) I just perfer to tag along with people rather than organise them (seen that I have to do that at work). Sounds like area wide chat would help. That certainly seem to help in LotR where people were always spamming the quests they needed. Thanks for the comments everyone :) |

lol @ Bodypass. As for PQ's, once you do get a group together, they're real good fun. I sometimes get annoyed though when I find a cool PQ and can't do it because people are just not around some areas of the game. |

Right now pqs past tier 1, r a wast of time, theres way too many ,dividing what little pop there is and u can get loot faster and easier and w/ less grindy fell by doing a lil pvp, by the time i get to a new pq my gear is already better than the rewards or as good anyway. And the number one reason is everyone is doin scenarios where u actually get exp, unlike pve play. |

Public quests were fun in open beta, but not so much anymore. For whatever reason people choose to believe, they just are not happening. Even when you do get fortunate enough to make a group it usually doesn't stick together for more than one round. All it takes is for the tank or healer to win a bag and they move on leaving a few critical group slots empty and hard to refill.
I like the concept of public quests, but right now they are pretty much just huge wastes of ingame real estate. Especially when you look at the map and see just how much area they take up. |

He requires a warband of t1s to beat, with a good it of healers and either ranged DPS, or ood timing to run before the AOE goes off. I believe he's lvl 11. |
