now here me out i know diablo 3 is not an mmorpg BUT it does have online play (or will do like d2) so the question is how many of you would quit there mmo game too play diablo 3.....if its like d2 online then potentially its going to be huge, who cares about meeting players in towns etc all your friends will go online and your band of warriors will go around killing things with a great story too boot, plus the dungeons will never be the same twice so REPLAYABILITY

Diablo 3 is years away. Most likely late 2010 or early 2011. SC2 BABY!

Diablo 3 will be just as much a MMOrpg as Guild wars.

While many players don't consider diablo or GW mmos I think they have enough going for them to atleast say they are MMo ish.

Both games have a community, general chat, both games have solo content that can be played with multiple players Only thing missing is crafting and running into a bot/farmer while exploring.

To answer your question No i will not stop playing my MMO for Diablo 3 but I will deffinetly play it just like I play Oblivion, mass effect, CoD4 and Company of Heroes along with my MMOs.

I'll increase my multi-tasking gameplay skills when this comes out. I'll be doing it with Fallout 3 at the end of this month too.

Hey, if they can add Hellgate: London to this site, they most certainly can add DIablo III.  At present Diablo III is still too far back in the development stage to meet the criteria for  MMORPG to add them, but I expect they will at some point.

It certainly is far more of interest to people on this forum than such games as "Hello Kitty Online", etc.

Every site I have seen has it listed as mid or late 2009, only a few months after SC2's release.

Diablo III, the game really looks intresting to me. I've enjoyed playing Diablo II aswell so I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy Diablo III, if my computer is able to let me play it :).

But I think quite a lot people are willing to give up their MMO for Diablo III. I think one year ago Diablo II was still one of the ten most played game if you can believe xfire. So I'm guessing the sequel be at least as popular as the first two editions.

I gave up playing any other game type but MMORPG's about 7 years ago.  Sure, I tried a couple of other games since, KOTOR, HL-2, and a few others, but quickly set them aside and returned to my MMORPG game.

Since I thought D2 sucked compared to D1 I can't see myself bothering myself with D3.

Now SC2 is a game that I'll be willing to give a try to, maybe it will succeed where so many others have failed.

LIES!!!!!

On a more serious note, the way MMO's are going it seems that the MMO part is being taken out and being replaced with instances *cough*Scenarios/BGs*cough* so mightaswell consider D3 an MMO, it will certainly have a more vocal community than, lets say, WAR for example.

With Diablo 3 being easy mode made and pretty pretty princess purples, blues, and rainbow bright colors it'll probably be the biggest seller since their release of WoW...I mean come on A single player WoW game in a Diablo skin? How brilliant is that....SAD but brilliant.

The moment they talked about their easy mode healing globes .... I died a little inside.

btw WAR is vocal ... people just mistake crappy barrens chat about Chuck Norris as a community.

I can't wait for this game to come out.  You can play with others without a monthly payment and it will likely have a pretty decent story.  It will also likely have really good hack and slash.  It's been a while since there has been a good PC dungeon crawler.

Diablo III can belong to whatever genre there is. I'll drop every other game immediately to spend a month in DIII, and I'll be surprised if it doesn't keep my interest for quite a few months at least. :-)
