Well Eve is not for me so thats out the window.... I have been playing MMO's for around 10 years. My personal preference of a game is a 2d/isometric view like legend of mir.

Idealy I am looking for a game were you can kill people any where, apart from a few safe zones, I want people to have the chance of dropping items when I kill them, l want most classes to be relitivly balanced in that they can kill any other class, idealy I want to be self sufficient and not have to rely on other people. I know most will say legend of mir 2, I should go back to it but the european version died I think. I was hoping WAR would be the next title to grab me but instead I have an unwanted collectors edition of it :/

Any help please - I know WoW has pvp but there is no point, I like emotions to be involved in PvP I like the thought if this person I am fighting kills me I can drop something, same the other way around

hmm try mu online. it has 2d iso view and you can basically pk anyone outside the safe zones. to make em drop stuff, they must be in "outlaw" status, while you must be in "hero" status. dunno about character balance sry.

In runescape they have this arena where when you kill anyone and they would drop everything they have on and in there inventory although the competition is quite tough so making a good enough character takes while.

It's been a few years since I played it, but I think Conquer Online had PvP like you described. Basically you could kill anyone outside of towns at any level and they drop something they had in inventory. Graphics weren't top notch or anything, but the characters were all korean pretty textures and there were some fun areas to jump around and kill everyone and everything in.

Thanks for the link mate, I tried this earlier tonight, you know the game sounded absolutely perfect! Just was not keen on the graphics :/ Other than that it was perfect which is such a shame :(

Thank you though

It has been awhile, but EQ1 had PVP servers where you could kill other players and loot one item off their body, You could even enter the newbie areas and PK the younglings.

Might I suggest you make a list of games you've tried so as to save time with people suggesting games you've tried but don't like?

Also, how about Shadowbane?  Archlord?  Lineage 2?

Old School:  Ultima Online?

www.lineage.com

Lineage 1

I mean, you completely passed up one of the best MMOs in existence, in both PvP and PvE.

I was going to suggest the exact same three. And I believe Archlord just released a specail pvp server where you can loot.

Otherwise if you want the isometric style, the original Lineage. Though it is so old that with the exception of some alts I think the OP will have a long road ahead of him in order to catch up.

As much as I wanna try the AL full PvP loot server my past expirience with CM is very bad.

With Lineage 1, does that have PvP looting as just looking at it, I like the look of it.

I may be wrong but I believe that UO still has some "classic" servers with the original looting system in place.

I haven't played for about ten years, though so my information may be suspect.

Good luck in your search

too bad Neocron's dead. Used to love looting people's power-armor, and selling it back to them

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"
