But thats the sad thing....even if they -quadrupled- the xp needed to lvl (which wouldnt be a bad idea) with xp pots the most efficient means of lvling, the underlying battle system, economy and quests would still be fun and you'd still be able to progress and accumulate items/crystals/wealth, albeit slowly. This just says, "ok, go ahead and play for 1-2 hours then poof! no items no exp, nothing to show for your effort. That quest you were on? Forget it. Those mercs you want to upgrade {at 50+ crystals EACH, at least in CB1}, HAHA good luck farming enough crystals within the stamina limit or finding players willing to part with theirs without charging a lung and a kidney. See ya tomorrow! ", and thats the key difference: make lvling slow and difficult and players will choose their level of grind/commitment and whether or not to buy from the item mall...tell them they CAN'T level and theyll just leave. And the fact they try to present it in their announcement as beneficial, as adding some sort of 'depth', when anyone can see its the groundwork of a naked cash grab in advance of their item mall, is an insult. Also, I'm not totally sold on the idea that itll stop botting. It'll slow it down, since itll be limited to approx. 2hr intervals or so, but thats what multiple accounts are for. The botters will happily set up multiple accounts to farm money/crystals etc, while the real players quit, or do lame things to get around the system like pvp kill trading. EDIT: (its been a long time since I played Rappelz so if theyve changed this, nvm) IIRC Rappelz had a stamina system where you got alot more exp/jp with full stam, slowly decreasing til you ran out of stamina, at which point youd be getting half (a third?) of that....I could accept that here too, but not just a complete shutoff valve. |

Yep, I was a very big fan of Atlantica Online as well and after seeing the "Stamina" patch I'm done with playing this game. If they remove the "Stamina" feature I may play again but not until they do so. Also they put flood control on the forums so that you can only post every 5 minutes due to the amount of hate mail they are getting due to the "Stamina" patch. Time to look for something else to play now... Ratero/Rhonen. |

Well the community has tested the new stamina system. Most were only able to test it for 2-4 hours since thats about how long stamina lasts. To get more you must regester in a bugged pvp tournament system. If it doesnt bugg out on you expect it to be nothing more than a scroll spam fest. Seems that forcing people who didnt want to pvp to do so has had a negative effect on the quality of pvping. Also if you win, your stamina reward is not even worth the effort. That being said, if you like to grind expect about 1-2 hours of gameplay before your stamina runs out and you no longer get drops or exp, if you quest and grind expect 2-4 hours of play, if you dick around and dont do much you can stretch your stamina to last pretty long, but its boring at a low level. Rest assured that when you hit level 51+ and your stamina is cut in half you will find that completing the high end mercenary quest to be a multi-day affair. Also upgrading your mercenaries may take as long as a week, as youll need about 800 ashen crystals total. The stamina system has kinda turned this game toward an uber gear wins game. In cb1 everyone was able to grind for anything, things were more even, and pvp was based on how you played not what you played with. Now i can see some people making mutiple accounts to farm, making one really over powerd team. Truth be told, i dont see them removing a system that will definatly result in people heading to the cash shop to buy stamina items so that they can farm and play. This will make paying player uber and free player really gimped, more so than a normal cash shop. Its really sad to watch a game turn out like this, it had so much potential to be a free mmo with a cash shop that didnt make others uber. There is a small ray of hope that the developers will remove the stamina system, but like i said its profits > community when it comes to free korean mmo's. So this system works for those who play 2-3 hours a day, and dont mind being seriously gimped compared to the big cash shop spenders.
Only time will tell if the developers decide to choose community or profits =/ |

there are some other way to increase the stamina. you can do the mentoring in exchange of stamina pills. this is useful for you and for your apprentices. this game only wanted the players to appreciate more than just killing monsters. |

Stamina is a both a problem and a solution to a problem. Stamina prevents long-term fighting. At the same time, it prevents players from using bots, a common trend in most MMORPGs. |

This is too old, stamina is not more a problem... I was lvl 70 in cb and I´m 47 now in oB and i´ve never ran out of stamina. |

i think the stamina is actually a challenge to levelup fastest with the least games fought, don't you think? it's quite an egobooster if you think about it like "hey i just went up 5 levels with only 2 stamina spent!" or something like that. |

hmmm. yeah. i agree on this. this has a point. maybe NDOORS used this stamina system to have ways to prevent bots in game. very clever indeed, for instance there will be bots, it will limit them to kill monsters and gain experience. it has many uses than one, we just have to fogure it out by ourselves. |

Stamina isn't that much of a problem, come to think of it. I mean, that's way better than having a gazillion bots running around. At least you get to play with real gamers, not farmers. |
