WAR was fun for the Preview weekend, and open beta. But by the time launch came around, it was getting boring. The PQ's are lopsided, being a tank in PQ= lowest contribution points, by far. The scenarios are fun, but after a while they get to be too...bland. Open RvR is nothing but run around in a group and kill shit. Quests are run of the mill Kill X get Y. On a plus side, bugs are almost non-existent. Runs great on most setups. All in all I gotta say AoC kept my attention longer. So my vote goes for AoC. Anyone else?

Trolls will call me a fanboy but here is the truth...(for me anyways because truth is always relative...remember this one kids.)
Warhammer online is one of the greatest mmos produced with tons of potential. AoC doesnt even compare.
playing: Dragon Age |

I say Warhammer.
AoC just has so much stuff that hurt the game for me. Groovy. |

WAR is 10x better or should I say fun than Age of Instances. I can't believe I nearly gave WAR a miss through fear of a leet kiddie community, but joining a RP server things have just been a blast. I can pick up and play WAR and have the same fun I would sitting down to a game of Team Fortress 2. I love PVP in FPS games but never MMO's, but WAR has changed that for me. |

i've played both and they both have huge potential. as far as which one is more fun that depends on how i feel.
AoC is by far the best solo MMO i have played (grouping is there but no one does the damn dungeons (really ticks me off as i play MMO's for the dungeons) and grouping is hardly beneficial or easy to do). WAR is great with a bunch of friends (who convinced me to buy it) however when i log on by myself it looses all of its appeal and i soon log off.
so WAR with some friends or when i feel like grouping and AoC when i like to solo. AoC needs to emphasise dungeons and grouping more and WAR needs to polish its gameplay and churn out some new content. MMO wish list: -Changeable worlds |

I played a great deal of AoC, and even with bugs aside, I'm having at least triple the fun in WAR. The only thing I really miss from AoC is the music, blood and graphics. Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV |

AOC was by far more fun. The character classes were way more appealing, unfortunately not much worked at launch. |

Warhammer is better. AoC will forwever be les than promised. Warhammer has massive battles....I mean 100+ I know I was there. No lag to speak of (I had none). Warhammer has no lack of content. Warhammer has keeps that work. Warhammer is a team game, Aoc is pretty much a solo experience. Warhammer has meaningful pvp. i,e it affects you asa player and the game world. AoC RIP, you were prettier than a thai whore and were just as riddled with bugs. All I can tell you is that when I shout For the Emporer, For Sigmar! People join in the charge and banter, unlike AoC, even on non rp servers. I has a real tangible backstory beyond Howards books.

Don't know what game you're playing here, but from my experience, war is laggy as hell in RvR along with tens of thousands of others according to the many thousands of forum posts throughou the community with people complaining of horrid fps and stuttering. WAR is a very boring game when you're solo. Ques take forever to pop unless you're playing empire, and the quests get boring super fast. The PQs after tier 1 never have enough people doing them to complete. Don't bother questing in the non-empire tiers because you will never see anyone else, and I play on a full server. Keep battles are fun, but laggy as hell. The game is very poorly optimised right now. Most people have bad stuttering and fps issues that have yet to be addressed by Mythic. Yes, all the pvp and everything you do is meaningful. But in the end is it worth it? The end game is trying to take over the capitol cities. Well, as it stands, the cities are bugged like hell. Half the players can't even go to the major players without crashing, and the other have get horrible fps. Now add hundreds of people on top of that when players are raiding it and......well, let's hope mythic fixes this game before any of that happens or else this game is done. My biggest complaint is that the game gets boring. I've got a level 22 warrior priest, and T3 is just a big boring grind. The scenarios never pop, even on the full server I play on (badlands). Oh well, better luck next time Mythic. |

having played both, though admittedly AoC only to like level 32, i am enjoying the large scale pvp in WAR alot more then anything else in AoC. I miss AoCs graphics and sound, but thats about it.

WAR actually insn't all that laggy for me when I do keeps. I guess im one of the lucky ones. As for cities yes I have crashed a few times but I get good framerates there as well. Pretty much any mmo is boring solo, well atleast for me. I like to group up and do quests. |

AoC had style and atmosphere and some of the best music in an MMO, WAR has a whole ton of pvp ...... choices choices. Not really AOC was way more immersive when it wasn't bugging out wish i had seen it with a better graphic card /cry but it will prolly be gone before i can buy a new one.
Wish war had better presentation, wish AOC had better polish, ........ oh i know the game i need to play. Hype is my nemesis. i will fight it til the day i die whether i take it down or it takes me down. So depressing, Yes? |

I don't subscribe to either but if I was going to subscribe to one of them it would be Warhammer. AoC is just not that much fun but I am also one of the few who don't think the graphics are all that special. |

i play both games, aoc and war imho you cant compare the 2 games because the fun comes from 2 different sources my conan fun comes from incredible visuals and high quality storytelling if i had to suggest one of the 2 games to a person i would ask: also if you ask me wich game is more fun to me atm id go for war because the pvp aspect doesnt need fresh content, it just exists on player interaction. after 3 month playing conan i felt like having used up all the content there is. so atm i play war but when the content update hits conan ill play conan again because im kind of a movie person and war is like candy to me, sweet and exiting but to much of it makes my stomach ache my big dilemma will come if i start to like chonicles of spellborne and aion, choices were much easier in the good old days... if your bored, visit my blog at: |

Both had great potential, but both ran into the SAME problems of MMORPG's and their limits. What limits? The limits of open seamless worlds with great graphics and still a lot of players.... Both lag and both tried another solution: - AOC by making instances for the client and creating copies, so the number of people you'd meet was very limited. - WAR did it server wise, by limiting the number of people per server and free up the lag and casting synch problems. ----- When is everybody going to realise here that the limits of MMORPG's (people you meet on the fly!) are 3 fold: - Hard disk client side: You CAN NOT pump up 25 GByte of local graphical data into a video game card of 512 Mbyte,(client wise - HD are way too slow). - Connection wise: everything has to be resolved on a server (x,y coordinates, combat resolutions, collision detection, you name it). - Optimal written code that takes AGES to write as an interface to these two limits above. Now: try making a FULL 3D world you can fly over and land anywhere with these limits: now you realize it takes indeed 1 biljon dollar to create a "Wow-killer". What's left is : very great ideas but FLAWED execution. |

Got to lvl 10 in AoC and was bored as hell and everyone said the first 20 levels were the best.lol No thanks on that pos. I hated the combat system, which I thought I would like.
War im lvl 16 and so far and Im having a shit ton of fun, RvR is so awesome. Like I said in other posts, I spent 2 hours defending a keep last night, spent 3 hours trying to take a keep a few nights ago. Order is usually under populated on my server so there is always a ton of Destruction around.
