QUESTIONS:

1. What is the difference between /aid and /assist?

2.  Let's say it's me and a second person in the same party, do I need to click /assist between every combat or is there a way I can default to always assist?

3. As a Disciple of Khaine, some of my abilities damage my foe and 'heal my defensive target'. How do I assign a defensive target other than myself?

4. Let's say it's just me and another person in a party. How do I quickly see what number they are? Are they number #2 or if they are the leader of the party are they number 1? My name is always at the top of the party on the left, so I just think that's because it defaults that way. I can not figure out if the other person is #2 or #1.

1. Dunno

2. Dunno

3. The defensive target is whoever you click that's friendly.  They will be the name under your target.

4. Hit the F buttons.  You're F1.  The next down the line is F2 and so on.

#3 -Can you explain then how do I engage an attack?

So Disciple of Khaine soul rend attacks my opponent and heals my 'defensive target'. How do I target my opponent and a defensive target?

That is where  I think /aid and /assist may come in, but can't figure out how to use them or if they are assigned.

You just click on each one and they're both chosen.  You'll see the targets name and the defensive targets name below that.

you can have TWO targets, one friendly one enemy

I believe Aid targets as friendly unit, ie for heals

Assist gives you their enemy target

As far as I know!

Don't know about the first two either, but you are able to have a defensive target and attackable target selected at the same time. The one you are attacking is on top and red and the defensive one is right below and green. So if you do x dmg and heal defensive target x amount per tick then it would be dmg and healing on the two selected.

do I have to reapply between combats?

I can't seem to figure out if it took or not, it's like "LEft control shift F2" or something and so I am wondering if it actually got assigned. I just want to let the blademistress be my healing target and drop a heal on them unless I specify myself.

Common Sense - The ultra rare loot with extreme decay.

F1 will target yourself.F2 will target next in line and so on. So you can switch between oarty members quickly to allow for those heals as long as that person is within range. Tab targets next closes mob.

You will auto support (heal) your defensive target when you have him targeted. If you have an ability that deals damage to a target and heals your defensive target, you target both the attack target and your defensive target (you can target 1 of each) and use the skill.

Quite simple actually.

But to answer your questions...

1. It's similar I believe, for each. Assist is for attacking your defensive targets target, aid is just targeting the defensive target...(I think).

And...I don't know for the other numbers.

Say the person your team designated as the leader (the one who picks out the target) is named Bob .. the best way to handle assisting him is to make a macro and write it as /assist Bob

I do this with my guild who ever is the target caller  has an assist macro.

If your in a pug group you cuold try and quickly make the macro before the scenario starts or right at the beginning but otherwise yes you have to target that person or type that person's name after the /assist

1. What is the difference between /aid and /assist?

/assist <def target>  - This lets you select the offensive target or your defensive target.  So for example your defensive target is that tank, tankie.  When you hit /assist it will automatically assist tankie.  Now for a healer this is probably not good cause your defensive target will change to people you are healing.  So what you can do is create a macro "/assist tankie" now this will assist the player named tankie.

/aid is one I have not used but I'm gonna guess what it is based on years of playing.  /aid <offensive> target.  This will set your defensive target to the offensive targets target.  This is a great function for a healer.  You are fighting the bad wolf as is your group.   Suddenly the wolf starts to attack the sorcerer in your group.  You hit aid and your def target auto switches to the wizard since that is what the wolf is attacking.  You do your heal and save the wiz.

2.  Let's say it's me and a second person in the same party, do I need to click /assist between every combat or is there a way I can default to always assist?

You have to click between each fight.

3. As a Disciple of Khaine, some of my abilities damage my foe and 'heal my defensive target'. How do I assign a defensive target other than myself?

You can select a defensive targets by clicking the player avatar, clicking the players name in the group list, hitting f# where the number is the player number in the list.  So the first person, you are 1 the second person would be two.  so hit f2 to select the person.  I haven't tested this but there also might be a /target command where you could do something like /target <name>.

4. Let's say it's just me and another person in a party. How do I quickly see what number they are? Are they number #2 or if they are the leader of the party are they number 1? My name is always at the top of the party on the left, so I just think that's because it defaults that way. I can not figure out if the other person is #2 or #1.

Numbers are in order of the party list.

Do you click /assist bob in between each mob?

in between each attack?

How do you know it is assigned?

Let's say you have an enemy target and you click /assist bob, then you click an attack.

Does it:

 A) Attack your target

B) automatically target Bob's target then initiate the attack

C) Keep you targetting your target, but attack Bob's target?

I keep getting confused. Still not sure what /aid is.

I think I will write a macro though, as that does sound like a good idea!

Yes you create a macro and click it between each fight after the MA (Main Assist) pulls the target.  In organized groups doing pve stuff the MA will sometimes call for attack this tells you when to assist.

You will see your target in the target UI indicator.  Ie name and the highlighting around the targets feet.

It targets the mob but doesn't initiate attack you still need to start your attack.  It doesn't keep you on that target.  If you click another target you will change or if you ht tab or n it might change.   It just gives you a way to automatically select the target of another player.
